I do not understand the appeal of this band at all...
I'm sure if you heard it in the 70s you could be excused for finding it amazing, trippy, revolutionary etc but it just does not hold up today. I like me some ambient but there's just nothing to hold onto here.

Nothing wrong with that OP. It's the same with Pet Sounds, Doolittle and all Tangerine Dream for me; I appreciate that they were innovative at the time, but after hearing so much similar music, those albums just put me into a deep coma.

I love TD, but seldom listen to Phaedra or Rubycon. Alpha Centauri and Zeit are the ones I listen to heavily. Those and Edgar Froese's brilliant solo stuff.

I agree that it doesn't hold up as well as some of the other synth stuff of the period. I still enjoy Phaedra from time to time though.
