He's awesome

Probably the most genuine singer songwriter out there. People overestimate how ironic/sarcastic/sardonic he is because of his online persona. But True Affection, I Went To The Store One Day, and When You're Smiling And Astride Me are all completely genuine songs, and even his more sarcastic ones (ILYHB, Bored In The USA, etc) are built around bases of genuine emotions.

He's too deep in his own irony and narcissism, but it doesn't really matter because he's one of the best song writers around atm. Holy Shit is a gorgeous song lyrically, one of the best of the year
