That's such a fucking dumb thing to say, that it was more forward thinking than white light white heat. WLWH is only called "forward thinking" now cause everyone was influenced by it. God why are you all so stupid and intent on turning everything into a dick measuring contest. The parson sound tapes are literally culling from the same influences as the VU, except john cale was ACTUALLY PART of the theater of eternal music

>>
>>60653605
i'm on the fence on the merits of parson sound (i think they're one of the best overlooked/late-released band though), but forward thinking doesn't inherently mean influenced a whole slew of bands. it genearlly means that they were exploring sounds or ideas before anyone have caught up on it (in this case, independently)
>>
>i normally make different music
>fuck my ass with those aggressive electronic drum sounds babe mmFUCK
>>
>>60653879
I'm not saying that's what forward thinking means, I'm saying in the case of white light white heat, it was because of what a huge influence on everyone it had that caused it to be labeled that way, as opposed to something like, I dunno, Tolerance - Divin which nobody heard and somehow ended up sounding exactly like the electronic music of today
