What do you think about Ladytron?
>>60641491
i don't. what is this, 2003?
They're pretty good
decent band, but completely fucked because of the "electroclash" label glued to them. it's been said many times.
>>60641506
2000s revival, ladytron and toonami
is this the only synthpop group /mu/ knows about or something
literally what
>>60641514
as proven here >>60641506
electroclash was just a shitty fad and Ladytron despite being a quite talented band will be always that "what is this, 2003?" band until their end.
Are you hyped for Marnie next album?
>>60641553
My member is hyped
>>60641506
>>60641544
You know, they released some other great albums since 2003. Actually their best/most popular album is Witching Hour from 2005.

Looks like a ripoff of the Sremmlife cover desu.
>>60641553
Totally. 2016 will be a great year for music.
>>60641589
Good joke. Look at the release dates, tho...
>>60641577
yep, Witching Hour is a really solid album, definitely their best. this only shows how unfortunate that electroclash shit was for the band.
>>60641536
the patrician version of chvrches.
>>60641615
this alone >>60641577 shits all over anything the feminist chipmunk band has done and stands for.
>>60641605
Velocifero is also a really solid album. It seems that they were at the wrong time: this electroclash thing didn't do them any favors. They were associated with it because of their image and because they used synths.

I'm glad someone started memeing this band on here, I completely forgot about them
>>60641604
Sremmlife may have been released in 2015 but it's timeless. Cavemen were probably listening to Sremmlife.
This complete and utter ripoff of everything that made Sremmlife classic, on the other hand....
Any fan of their debut album 604 which included gems such as Playgirl, Discotraxx, The Way That I Found You, Commodore Rock, Mu-Tron?

That Mu-Tron track has a monstruous beat on par with anything by Leftfield, The Chemical Brothers and Daft Punk.
How fucking awesome is Blue Jeans? The best post-punk song that (almost) nobody heard of...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJ_WXoeRXJg
>>60641725
>they're wearing black jeans
>>60641828
That's a cool uniform they used to wear then.
>>60641828
Actually wearing jeans
>>60641828
And this.
Hard to find a better electronic song than Seventeen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6jaYJx7yeI
Kraftwerk-tier, t.b.c.h.
Alin leave
>>60644671
Wrong thread.
Witching Hour is baller af.
I like the one where they sing in Bulgarian or something.
they are nice
>>60644801
Ladytron threads are even more Alin than st vincent threads sempai
>>60645577
Dude, if you have a problem with Alin talk to him/her directly. Stay on topic and don't mess my thread.

final bump
>>60641526
My thoughts exactly. Personally, I blame charts.
>>60641526
Them and CHVRCHES
>>60649018
Not really. I've seem bands like Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, New Order, Tears For Fears, Chvrches mentioned more often than Ladytron.
When you're 21, you're no fun.
;_;
No one gave a shit about them until Witching Hour came out with their "new sound"
>>60649417
Commercially, yes. But even before Witching Hour they had a fanbase. Quite small but dedicated.
>>60641491
fucking love them... and Marnie's solo stuff as well...
>>60649543
Glad to hear that. Would you mind if you rank their albums?
>>60649557
1. Velocifero
2. Crystal World
3. Witching Hour
4. 604
5. Gravity The Seducer
6. Light & Magic
It kinda varies, though. Marnie's solo album is very close to number one since I saw her live not long ago.
"Runaway" is probably my current favorite track.
>>60649675
My top:
Ladytron only: Witching Hour > Velocifero > 604 > Light & Magic > Gravity the Seducer
Ladytron & Marnie: Witching Hour > Velocifero > 604 > Crystal World > Light & Magic > Gravity the Seducer
>>60649758
We kinda agree on Gravity, it seems. It felt really flat (pardon the pun) and boring compared to the rest of their efforts. I put Light & Magic below it only because I've listened waaay too much to it.
Witching Hour & Velocifero were decent
everything else no thanks
>>60649832
I actually really like Gravity. It grew on me after quite many plays. It's their most underrated album.
>>60649859
>everything else no thanks
You don't like synthpop?
>>60649889
Hm... maybe I should give it another chance.
Here's a crummy shot from the Marnie show, btw. It was fucking awesome.
>>60649964
Nice. She's so talented. In fact each Ladytron member is really talented.
>>60649918
I guess not, their earlier albums had select songs I liked but I thought they were too bloated honestly
Gravity the Seducer felt lazy
>>60650026
Their early albums are quite large, but not bloated. I enjoy every single track from them. Maybe you should give them another chance.
>Gravity the Seducer felt lazy
I disagree. It's a subtle album with a great production. Again, I suggest you to re-listen it.
>tfw you'll never be her bf
it hurts to live brahs
>>60650174
She's married tho.
>>60649417
>tfw saw Playgirl on an old alternative music show that used to be on after midnight when I was 13
>been a fan since, and 604 is still my favorite album of theirs
>>60650872
Long time fan, nice to meet you.
>>60649380
We all stop being fun after a while...
>>60650872
>tfw I saw Playgirl when I was 16 and instantly got crush on Marnie
I only liked them when I was 17
// A E S T H E T I C
>>60652437
And not after 17?
Like another anon posted, Blue Jeans is so underrated.
>>60654046
what the hell
>>60654046
What's going on that pic?
My top 10.
Didn't enjoy Gravity the Seducer as much as I did their other stuff but i'm hopeful for their next release.
>tfw listened to Seventeen both on my 17th and 21St birthday :(
Also Velocifero has a special place in my heart. It painted my and my friends' whole summer of 2008. So many feels.
>>60654309
>Cease2xist
Quite surprising; that track is so underrated.
>Hey, where did you come from?
>And why don't you stay where you belong?
>Think, everyone that you kiss,
>do they cease to exist when you stop being missed?
>>60654416
So true.
Honestly though Gravity the Seducer is due for another listen. Hate to admit it but maybe my opinion was swayed by others. Here's to the next one.
>>60654468
Gravity the Seducer worth more plays. It includes Ninety Degrees, one of the most beautiful things ever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqPuYuVgMks
>studied for phd in genetics at the oxford university
>sings in english and bulgarian
>plays synths, accordion, guitar
>co-songwriter
>dj
>has an interest in architecture and photography
>collaborated with john foxx & the maths
>>60655003
The patrician's Ladytron waifu
What's their best music video?
>>60655409
One of these: Destroy Everything You Touch, Ghosts, Seventeen, Sugar, Runaway, Tomorrow. Also I really like the American version of Evil (nice dancing, Helen): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya0H86ogOzU
