idk man wouldn't imagine you'd like them from all the heavy stuff on your chart. If you want to try the Mountain Goats 'All Hail West Texas' is their most consistent album. If you like it try 'The Coroners gambit' which is also great.
Their hi-fi stuff isn't as good but is still more than worth your time. Tallahasse in particular is a great album; though it does dip in parts its made up for by the heights of 'no children'
Maybe try the Fall if you haven't already? Their John Peel Box set is a good primer for their stuff. Listening chronologically is also good. Whatever you do don't listen to hex enduction hour first; you need to be well versed in their aesthetic before then.
