Why is this album so overlooked?
The same reason people overlook Terrestrial Tones.
The members in the project both have much more accessible and palatable solo records.
Berserker is really nice though.
Idk but I really like it. I think a common complaint is how minimal it is, but it works for me. Wish Panda would go pack to that sort "pace" rather than the super sonically-packed/hyperactive thing that's been going in his work as of late.
Also the artwork is sick.

Agg Report is my favorite Panda Bear related track. Such a great use of sampling, and it was recorded as a live DJ set

pretty sure the entire album is live actually

to be fair terrestrial tones is kinda shit. thought that collab was actually really disappointing imo.
now on the other hand, avey's split with david grubbs is very nice and also overlooked quite a bit.

it really is so good

Fair points. Both Avey and Eric's solo stuff is so good TT being what it is kind of a mystery.
And yeah, Crumbling Land is pretty good.

i think they just didn't really deviate from each of their respective band's sounds too much, while also compromising it at the same time. tt was not as crazy/alien as eric's solo/bd work, but it also didn't have that nice melodic edge that avey/anco has such an ear for, so the result came out as middling.

Fun fact, this is the only AnCo related album that I actually bother enough to have a physical copy of.

cuz you are new here

What? It's very rarely discussed, even in /AnCo/
