TMR is a multi-faceted, complex blues album which would be near impossible to recreate without sounding derivative (Levitate by The Fall is the spiritual successor imo)
It was critically acclaimed ever since it was created, not because "haha fast 'n' bulbous!" but because it's a complex and sophisticated work

It makes me sad to see people disliking MPP now, I feel like it's the vogue to dislike it now. These people often also have Pet Sounds high, they're both similar albums in terms of songwriting and the lyrical yearning.
