>>60352774
seeing as everybody in this thread has a bit of knowledge of post punk i would like to ask a question
is there any post punk that sounds like early-devo? i'm talking the basement set albums. i know about cardiacs
>>60352794
Ramones released their debut on 1976
>>60352416
That album sucks.
>>60352814
you mean the edgy Hardcore Devo?
try
Nervous Gender - Music From Hell
Metal Urbain - Les Hommes Morts Sont Dangereux
>>60352439
This ain't Post-Punk
>>60352845
Wrong, also 154 is better
>>60352845
This is meh
>>60352416
Post punk or punk threads on /mu/ are the absolute worst. Just a bunch of people posting album covers and arguing over genre definitions or which band is better.
>>60352452
this album is great. Truly separates the plebs from the patricians. Too experimental for the plebs who are used to more poppy post-punk.
>>60352845
>not 154
you fucked up
Preparing to get crucified for this, but is there any post-punk that sounds a bit like Ceremonys "The L-Shaped Man"? It's an obvious Joy Division rip-off, but I like the grooves.

>>60353750
that's every thread about every genre on /mu/.
>>60353893
mostly, but punk threads are a special kind of awful Tbh. I think my main problem with them is that every single one is exactly the same.
>>60353883
is it geera who updates this ?
What's the better closer for this album, nerves or crowds?

Think before you post retard
every album in this thread is at least very good
this happens a lot with post-punk threads for some reason
>>60354691

>listening to Pere Ubu after their first two albums
Fucking disgusting.
>>60354768
I like their early stuff, their very first album is really underrated. Very different sounding then the rest of them.
>>60352416
yes
>>60354827
also this
>>60354884
Underrated or just terrible? I feel like it's the latter. It's certainly not post-punk either way.
>>60354827
more or less any album by the fall, at least prior to the 90s
>>60354141
Really? I found the confessional style of crowds to be a bit more of a wrap up than nerves
>>60354938
I got a soft spot for This Nations Saving Grace
How exactly do you describe post-punk? It seems like a really wide genre. I've heard early Nick Cave albums described as post-punk as well as bands like Fugazi but they sound nothing alike. Is it just a blanket term to describe anything with a hint of punk in it?
Most post punk vocals are pretty shit and they try to imitate Ian Curtis' voice. Well guess what you can't imitate his voice you little shits no matter how deep you try to make your voice. There's way more shitty bands than good post-punk bands, even the good bands are shitty.
>>60352814
Snakefinger - Greener Postures is the closest thing I've ever heard to early hardcore Devo
