Nah, I went to look at the numbers. If you look for "rapping" shit's hotter than ever. Literally, it is now at a higher point in the graph than it's ever been.
EDM and Dubstep are barely blinks on the radar. Heavy Metal as well. Interestingly enough "Rock" dwarfs everything, but I suspect that includes result for actual stones as well. "Rock Music" sees a big -but not very sharp- decline starting on 2009, but it's still riding high and it's the only thing to rival both "rapping" and "rap" (which follows the same trend as "rapping" but with fewer instances).
So... I guess rock is not dead, and rap is still on the rise. And Electronic isn't actually mainstream.
