is there any kinda genres that are shocking? please, no metal
>>
>>60326309
Danger music
>>
>>60326309
there's some dark ambient bands that i know of that create some digustingly sick atmospheres. but its probably obscure noise bands out there that take the crown.
>>
Anything can be shocking if you're a pussy.
Why do you want specifically shocking music anyway?
>>
>>60326340
whats this?
>>
>>60326359
i just hate when people use the term hardcore and most everything ive ever heard isnt shocking lol i have around 20 merbow albums and even then noise isnt even extreme. i like making wall noise, i got a ton of it ive made

>Bone awl
also reccing this
>>
>>60326535
He probably doesn't want metal because he's heard enough of it to know it's not doing shit for him, silly.
>>
>>60326535
this is just edgy, i wanted to find something that could surpass this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KWeSzqmmpI
>>
oh if this >>60326582 is the case, then i recant my statement op. but the rec still stands. even if you think you know metal, you won't be ready for jute gyte
>>
>>60326559
If you like this I'd recommend hunting down some Fucked by the State, friend of mines band from back in hs, blackened power violence kinda stuff https://youtu.be/RLwlPB9dqPI
>>
>>60326653
>this is just edgy
i don't understand what you're trying to criticize.

also in what ways do you want it to surpass merzbow? in terms of composition jute gyte is way more "shocking" than venerology.

if you just want something that's louder then go listen to more wall noise

what bands, please?
>>
>>60326309
Listen to Buyer's Market or that brian jonestown massacre tape
>>
>>60326724
im just saying its edgy i dont care enough about it to criticize it and when i said "extreme" i should have put abstract with it because i was looking for things that didnt have a definite interpretation
>>
>>60326309

This track is pretty unsettling, I don't know if shocking is the right word though

>>
>>60326866
you know what, my bad. your negative attitude in your original post must have made me remember just how much im prejudiced against metal fans. i am a "fucking pussy". thank you for letting me to realize this.
>>
>>60326812
microtonal composition is one of the most abstract approaches to melody that you will find in music.

you listened to the sample, heard that it was metal with harsh vocals, and dismissed it as 'edgy' without giving it any critical thought
>>
>>60326865
I've heard other King Crimson albums sound more like that song, but I wouldn't know since I haven't listened to them.
>>
>>60326944
the reason why i came in here with animosity is because you dismissed metal in your op. i'm just saying that if you're looking for shocking and extreme music, then you shouldn't completely ignore the style of music that is widely renowned as the most shocking and extreme music. that's just being ignorant
>>
>>60326910
i deleted mine because he deleted the one i was replying to so he could reword his argument

Honestly, drone. Metal is not subtle enough to be genuinely extreme
>>

buyers market isn't music
>>
>>60327631
Absolutely incorrect.
>>
>>60327631
This, and this is coming from someone who considers noise can be music. Buyers Market is about as much music as an audio book is music
>>
>>60327719

just not a very good one ;^)

This is one of the few pieces of music that legitimately freaks me out, it sucks you into the ritualistic atmosphere and then gets bizarre as fuck towards the end. The fact that it's based on deepest lore about God/Satan makes it even better

yo man I really like this, you know any other experimental black metal or anything like that?
>>
>>60327745
It isn't, poetry and spoken word can be included in music, but it's not music itself. I consider music to be focused on abstract sound, while spoken word obviously has sound the focus isn't at all on texture or tone, it's basically literature not music.
>>
>>60327845
>I consider music

I consider music to be any sound organized.

It's music to me.

>God/Satan
>Satan

Judeo Christianity has lame tier mysticism
>>
>>60327863
It's hard for me to except spoken word as music, because there's no emphasis on the actual sound's coming out of the speakers vocals, I know it's sound but it's not put together as music at all. I mean even noise is meant to be abstract with an emphasis on texture, and sonic dynamics, buyers market is literally just telling a story, it's not put together with any sonic dynamics at all.

sure dude. i don't know any other groups who play microtonally, but if you just want really dissonant abrasive black metal check out paracletus by deathspell omega and spiritual catharsis by striborg. also you can always ask in the /nbbmn/ thread. i'm sure a lot of people could rec some stuff
>>
Most will disagree, but I say Brutal Truth.
NY grindcore assassins; been around since the 90's. No need for bullshit theatrics like GG shit or dressing up in skeleton costumes...just let the music do the talking....no "duuuude they exploded fire extinguishers on stage and that makes them sooo cool", no "setting off fireworks at the DIY show"

In terms of just shutting the fuck up and playing....Brutal Truth has won for years, hands down. Loudest, fastest, most creative shit I've heard since John Zorn's Naked City...
>>
>>60326393
The most extreme music is a song made of semi-random samples.
Basically, some sort of pseudocode of it

Value X = random integer from (1 to 65535)
If value is smaller than 32769, the next sample is -32768, if not the next sample is +32767

So it alternate randomly between the loudest samples.
In the end it become just some specific white noise

before you ask, as you see some sample value is 32768 while the other is 32767, this because you need an extra bit to represent total silence.

so the song will not really be always at max volume, but its a close aproximation, randomization was made semi-random to give 32768 a slight better odd.

PS: before you ask if we make a song with just 32768 (the artist jliat already made that) the speaker will not emit sound (this can actually damage the speaker if played for enought time)
