ITT: momcore.
My mom has that album
>>60314006
Gillian Welch, Lucinda Williams, Joni Mitchell, the list goes on
>>60314006
>>60314030
mom-core is obviously infinitely superior to dad-rock then
why are moms so patrician bros?
>>60314034
Are you 12?
>>60314066
Nah, why?
>>60314066
Shitty age meme
beck
>>60314066
Are you?
>>60314080
If your mom listens to Tori Amos, you are probably 11 or 12 right now.
>tfw I unironically listen to tapestry
>>60314106
It's a pretty good album. Completely inoffensive.
>>60314075
...my mom has this in her car
My mom grew up with the og heavy metal scene so Zeppelin and early Aerosmith, Black Sabbath. But she also was into Grunge when that came around.
Mom does NOT like challenging music
>>60314144
I know that feel. Mine got weirded out by the Velvet Underground's third album of all things.
>>60314130
you dont get it.
>>60314006
Carly Simon is one of the biggest mom core artists.
these covers are dog shit
>>60314170
>>60314092
But she does and I'm not. What's the basis of your prediction?
>>60314170
Negro, I don't get what? Tons of older women listen to that shit all the time. Just because some moms are pussy bitches doesn't mean that can't be momcore. Ask any lady from a big northeast city if they found Bowie or Steven Tyler attractive and they'll say fuck yes.
My mom is in her late 40s and she listens to Kanye West
>>60314245
lel she wants the bbc
slewt
>>60314245
wish mine did, cool mom breh
>>60314245
Is your mom hot?
>>60314229
you really dont get it.
The thing is the following.
Zeppelin, Sabbath, Aerosmith are considered dad rock, that doesnt mean males from that time did not listen to The Velvet underground, The stooges, etc. But they are not considered dad rock, it has to do with some kind of artists, sound and aesthetic.
Now, like dad rock, mom core encompasses some type of artists, which does not mean that females did not listen to Aerosmith, The velvet underground, or whatever artist. Mom core more to do with female singer songwriters and some kind of soft rock. (Carole King, Carly Simon, Billy Joel, some MPB)
dont get worked up, just because your mom listened to something does not automatically make it momcore.
>>60314125
mine too
>>60314373
velvet underground is dadrock you idiot
It's always this album and never Sgt Pepper or Revolver or what have you.
>>60314373
What about Tom Petty and Paul Simon. Are they momcore?
>>60314412
actually the beatles album for momcore is pic related, moms only listen to singles, not studio albums like abbey road or revolver, at least mine doesn't
>>60314460
Paul Simon sure, also Simon and Garfunkel to some extent.
Petty is too rockerish for mom core.
>>60314485
Yep. This. My mom knows 100 Beatles songs but couldn't name which album any of them are on
>>60314509
I feel like there's more classifications of momcore depending on where they grew up and when. Mine was born in the early 60s in Boston so that had a pretty solid connection to the music she was into seeing as Madison Square was like 20 minutes away.
>>60314085
See >>60314092
>>60314090
Nah, why?
>>60314219
Are you unaware of when this album came out, when she was a popular artist? It's simple math.
>>60314373
>it has to do with some kind of artists, sound and aesthetic
[citation needed]
>>60314520
also moms prefer 1962-1965 beatles more than 1965-1970 beatles
My mom used to play this in the car all the time when I was little. Also lots and lots of obscure jazz records she collects from festivals
>hyper-liberal momcore
My mom didn't listen to much music, she mainly listened to NPR and watched the Weather Channel.
>>60314668
this and dido
There is literally no chance your mom didn't play this on repeat
>>60314828
This, right next to pic related.
David Bowie

Ahhh mom-core.
The most comfiest of all the core's.
I have all of these albums btw.
Not a mom ...yeeet, but I think I'll hike my pants up over my belly button in solidarity.
Also my mom really loves her A.M. chatter while she's driving to work so i'll bump with that.

The Grateful Dead. The first song I can remember hearing was a Dead song.
My mom's fave album is OK Computer
>>60314485
That album was my childhood.
My mom says rappers are misogynistic.
>>60319029
hip hop culture is pretty misogynist and generally backwards
>>60317126

Pentatonix, Barbara Streissand, John Legend, Bruno Mars & Carole King all come to the top of my head when I think of what my mom listens to. Fuck whatever shitty TV reality show turned her onto Pentatonix, that shit is fucking cringe.
