i tended to do it just because there's been times where i listen to a real shitty album but i don't want it clouding up my chart w/out explanation.
for instance, skream's outside the box was terribly mediocre and only had a few stand-outs among a lot of songs that were boring

Mostly the new stuff. Frankly, I like the music but can't get past the vocals. Is there one you'd rec? I'd give 'em another shot.

I hate Ulver's shitty bm, I hate their shitty folk, I hate their shitty mallgoth "experimental ambient" shit and hate Ulver's stupid fucking faces
Also they're a pretty good dream-pop band (they even have some post-rockish song structures) and Everyone Must Touch the Stove is pretty good. But really their EPs and singles are much better than that album.
