Not in terms of commercial success, popularity or acclaim.
That said, Spiderland and Loveless were probably not either back in 1991. The status of "classic" is given more or less arbitrarily and in hindsight to albums that have had an impact deemed positive on the tradition of music.
However there are acclaimed, successful recent albums built on the tradition of consensually established "classics". Pic related is a good example, arguably using the basis of stylistic acceptance established by the status of "classic" releases (Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper's, Pet Sounds for instance) as a platform for its own success.
