I don't know if this is a general musical thread or just for sharing but I listened to the Hamilton cast recording the other day and it was great.
First heard Miranda's song about Hamilton in 2009 when I was still in high school and have been looking forward to whatever he was going to do with it but I didn't realize it was going to turn into a Broadway musical.

I've been wanting to explore musicals a bit further, all I've heard so far is Wicked. What would you recommend I check out? I'd especially appreciate female vocal melodies, piano and jazz/swing influence if possible.

Hamilton is amazing I've enjoyed almost every track and the only issue that I really have is the color blind casting

Makes it pretty interesting in some cases though. I especially liked Jefferson, who I'm pretty sure is played by a black guy, and his deadpan voice is hilarious. I don't think I could tell the races of anyone else from their voices. Besides Miranda who was playing Hamilton who I already know.

Not saying their bad performers just that it sucks me out of it to an extent and if that's the worst thing I can think up its a really good show
