I like Wilson's work a lot but this wasn't AOTY for me.
METZ II is also fucking phenomenal.
My most anticipated album of this year was Godspeed, and I really hate to say it but it didn't pack the punch that any of their other stuff did.
This is probably my most pleasant surprise of the year, and maybe too early to say but it's definitely my favorite of the year so far.
Kendrick's album for sure. Otherwise, probably arca's and bubblegum octopus' new stuff.
This is blowing my tits off at the moment.
Still have yet to find something that tops this

This and Sauna. Both are beautifully executed representations of my two favorite types of music.
I've listened to this like 7 times is so good. It was great during the cold winter months and is great during these hot spring days.

It wasn't garbage it just wasn't the greatest album of all time ever made, which is what it was hyped up to be. there was no way it could have lived up to the hype.

AOTY doesn't have to be perfect. Just better than all the other imperfect albums that year.
I'd say it's flawed in the sense that it isn't as much of an "easy listen"/radio friendly album as GKMC. But that's not much of a criticism.
