I can't recall if I've heard this before. You've got some great fuzzy drone going on. Perhaps considering layering clean vocals just underneath what you have already, the distortion (or just a filter) can almost be mistaken for a really low sample quality which I find off-putting. Cool sounding stuff, though.

Thanks for the kind words! The thing with the vocals is that my mic really does sound like shit, so in order to make the vocals not be the only poor-sounding thing in the mix I just distort the fuck out of them to kinda still make them blend in the whole drone aesthetic. I know it sounds like a poor excuse, but that's really all I can do for now until I get a better one. You're not even the first one to criticize that part, haha.

can you elaborate a bit better? do you think the vocals need to be louder or EQ'd/mastered differently, or both?
i tried the method of just setting up a condenser mic in the middle of the room and just yelling because my favorite "screamed vocals" album of all time (touche amore's first LP) did that and i loved the sound of that
if you have any specific methods you'd try for a vocalist literally just yelling/screaming throw em at me

Well, I only really give 'automatic recs' to people whose work I genuinely really enjoy. If I listen to something but don't find it too great, I at least try to give them some constructive critique. It's a give-and-take kind of deal, really. Can't expect people to check out your stuff without at least checking out theirs first.
That there's circlejerks is kinda understandable though, people probably check out mainly artists of their favourite genres and get crits from those back etc etc, you know?
And yeah, there's hit-and-run kinda guys like Foliage or people that obviously never really listen to other guys and just randomly pick 'recs', but those guys are super transparent and nobody sane really cares about them to start with. (And if you do, please just start ignoring the hit n runners, honestly)

Thanks. They're actually recordings made with a portable digital recorder placed in the middle of the rehearsal room. No mix at all. Just the sound of the rehearsal room as is. And they're not even compositions. All improvised
