Here's a review if you want to simultaneously read and listen: http://cerebralrift.org/2015/01/08/a-pocketful-of-changes-found-on-the-table/
Currently working on a dark ambient EP, three tracks in. I'm returning to 1, 2, and 3 minute track times. I'm excited to see how it'll turn out.
>>55111919
Seriously loving this. Your descriptors are on point. Summer ambient guitar awesomeness.
>>55111840
Very electronic sounding ambient, even if that sounds redundant or stupid. Ruby Ridge was stellar. the track davidian has so much automated panning going on, I'd tone it down, but I can see how it how it's supposed to be like that.
>>55111856
Listening to the fourth track, I'd probably replace ambient with downtempo. The prog rock and bit of math tags fit, though. You guys have a really cool sonic texture in recording that sounds like it can transition from recording to live sets seamlessly without any complaints of "they sound different on the album". I think I said the same thing twice in that sentence, but oh well. Great work dudes.
>>55112064
This is some awesome stuff! The first track reminds me of myself, actually. The last track is sweet.
>>55112370
thanks bb <3.
Thats just our live gear, in our main studio we got waaay more. Getting really into gear, which is hurting us financially aha.
I've always wondered how many ppl in these bandcamp threads do regular live shows and if we should all link so we can tour and all that. get some $$$
>>55112423
Thanks dude, you're probably right about the downtempo bit. Our live sets so far are going real well as far as genre transitions. Stoked that you like Affections too, I put a lot of time into it. Your EP is really interesting. I'm curious about how you make your music and how you made the cover art.
>>55112423
how did you achieve that sound that comes in half way through "Time Melted the Landscape into White"?
Gorgeous stuff by the way.
>>55112441
My band plays a fair amount of shows. Where do you play?
>>55112600
currently just in Canada. Edmonton is our homebase, a very not turnt city.
Im doing some stuff in Melbourne and Vancouver this summer. Where u at? i need more contacts everywhere, i wanna start touring asap so i can quit my job.
>>55112498
Thanks! Cover art is few pictures that are rotated, filtered, blurred, color-corrected, and stuff. All of my stuff is made in FL Studio 10. Everyone says that FL churns out a certain sound every time. That's not the case if you know what you're doing and have instruments and effects that you know how to use and are non-native.
>>55112568
The synth that plays the last four minutes of the the third track was in Massive, had a low-pass, reverb, and distortion, I believe.
