Seriously, LDR's songs all pretty much sound the same, and also sound pretty much the same as, say, BANKS's stuff. FlyLo is unique at the bare minimum, and you gotta give him credit for that. Not saying there aren't other artists who blend IDM, jazz, and hip-hop, but you know when it's FlyLo despite the fact that he doesn't even sing.

Unique as it may be, it is generally completely unlistenable. The mix is impenetrable and chaotic, and even upon rooting through its cluttered mass, there's not much to find that's interesting or insightful or even enjoyable.
As boring as Ultraviolence is, it at least doesn't try to hide its boringness under layers upon layers of chaos. What you see is what you get, and you can stop listening after maybe the third song of its droning laziness. With You're Dead!, the music is sufficiently complicated that there's the possibility that you might not "get it" or there's something you're missing that will unveil itself with future listens. Really, all you get is a sense that you wasted ~3 hours of your life on something you shouldn't have spent more than 10 minutes on.
