Well I am sort of exaggerating such things in order to get replies and make people a bit angry at my ignorant opinion. I'm trolling, basically. It's 4chan, what else do you expect.
NG are still a really unique band though. They went from being a half-assed Pixies rip-off to fusing dub, post-hardcore, post-punk (Num-Ami-Dabutz is a rip of She Is Beyond Good and Evil by The Pop Group - a band Shutoku is obviously highly influenced by) and traditional Japanese music on their last album, and actually making it work well. They were doing absolutely insane shit that their contemporaries never considered. You look at what Cowpers and Bloodthirsty Butchers were doing and it looks bland in comparison.
And their influence is obvious even today - There are bands that -want- to be Number Girl in the Japanese mainstream. The most obvious is Asian Kung-Fu Generation, beloved by weebs everywhere for their shonen anime OP's.
I feel like they are really underrated here, especially compared to stuff like Midori (gag) or Boris.
