Why do people listen to obscure music?
sometimes its good
because they can
>>54774549
I don't.
>>54774549
because they want to feel like they own something
Insecurity
because they enjoy it
Because it's interesting and different
having the same flavors of ice cream can get boring

Off yourself OP
why do people watch wacky alternative humorists?
why do people eat Totino's Pizza Rolls
What's the point of listening to obscure music if you can't talk to anybody about it?
Do you just like to simmer in your own sauces and feel good about having more obscure tastes than your peers?
Its fun. Sometimes its nice to hear something that isn't like everything else you had been listening to.

Didnt you post this yesterday

>>54774698
I mean, you could share the music with your friends and make it more popular that way.
It's nice to listen to something you have never heard before
Speaking honestly, finding and boasting about "hidden gems" of any kind is just naturally rewarding for people. So it's not really a matter of "just liking it" or "just wanting to seem special", it's both

Simple. Most of my favorite albums today are albums that I didn't like at first listen. Some of them I didn't like for a while, but I love them now, usually more so than those that I loved immediately and listened to death.
My favorite albums have always initially been right outside of my comfort zone, for as long as I can remember.
So I listen to obscure and challenging music because I might just find my next favorite album.
because music on the radio is to simple for me i love my music messy with diffrent sounds and dynamics

Oh no!

>Implying you can't talk to anyone about obscure music
>Implying you listen to music and you have to talk about it
I fell for this
>>54774903
This makes sense

It's pretty simple, OP. When you listen to music for several hours each day, you start to get bored by hearing the same shit over and over, so you start venturing into other genres to hear new and refreshing sounds. Often you find yourself ending up in "complex" music, which at first sounds obscure to someone who doesn't listen to much music.
It's just desensitization.
>>54774847
My friends don't like experimental music. I used to show them stuff and they just really aren't into it. Almost everything I put on to show them gets dismissed right away.
>>54774903
Why the fuck would you listen to something again if you didn't like it the first time?
>>54774972
>>54774964
What do you show them? At least cater to their interests while trying to push their boundaries. Some people don't make music a hobby or find it as meaningful as some of us do
>>54774694
Because they're poor and/or they hate themselves
>>54774972
You're kidding right
Please be kidding
>>54774994
yes, you shake your head because you don't even know yourself
I don't care what other people listen too but I like most stuff that my friends listen to.
Besides that I love to just explore all the different genres and listen to a ton of obscure music.
Sometimes I show some stuff to my friends and they like quite a lot of it.

Not him, but it's like with anything that's an acquired taste. Many people hate wine or beer the first time they drink it, but end up loving it. And they'll tell you they're glad they stuck with it. Same with lots of foods.
There are lots of albums I've disliked at first that ended up becoming some of my favorites. Sometimes you have to want more than instant gratification, and you'll be rewarded more later.
>>54775071
Cool
>>54775077
Still no answer, you faggot
>>54774972
Because after some time my taste maybe changed or I am having a different mood and I start enjoying something I initially didn't like.
>>54774694
the cinnamon sugar swirls in every bite
A few reasons. One is that it feels fun to discover something you like but would have never heard of without digging. It's like you found buried treasure. Another is that you are more likely to find stuff that suits your specific tastes rather than the lowest common denominator songs that everybody knows. Some people like to think that listening to obscure music is more personal, like its a private conversation between artist and listener. Others want to find good musicians so they can share them with friends and stuff. If you like going to concerts, obscure bands have cheaper and less crowded shows, and if you go to a lot of shows you will be exposed to even more obscure bands thru opening acts.
Still waiting for answer:
Why would you listen to something again, or several times, if you didn't like it the first time? Because you want to be a hipster that badly?
>>54774972
How old are you?
Because obscure music can offer you things you won't find anywhere else.
>>54775146
No, because I might end up finding an album I really enjoy.
It's called an acquired taste.
Please tell me you're fucking with me.

I gave you an answer >>54775074

Fuck off woman.
more value
the feeling of finding some treasure u shouldn't have found
why do people like vinyl? why do people like old pairs of boots? why is thrift trendy? why do people appreciate whithered aged folks with tons of stories and experiences?
its just more value and sometimes more personal feeling, in some situations.
Whaaaaaat
