Do you like any modern pop music, /mu/? Even just listening to it casually on the radio or watching music videos.
Why or why not? Any pop musicians you're a fan of?
Do you feel that the music charting the billboards has gotten better or worse over the decades?
Also is this guy basically the modern day MJ just based on how famous he is?

>modern exploratory 'art' pop
yes
I like Camille a lot. Plainly put, it's french pop with strong jazz and bossa nova influences. Her song pale septembre serves as a focal point of her album le fil (the thread), which is held together by a hummed drone note
>>54772853
lots of popstars are metal heads irl m80
>>54772757
>modern
Ehh. Kinda.
>pop
If it's done right.
Funny enough, I'm listening to RuPaul's Realness.
God damn it's so... boring and uninspired.
Born Naked and Champion are so much more fun to listen to.
>>54772853
Nah, but even if it is it's just cos it's hip to look like you have an extremely varied tastes. Burzum is always the go to artists for plebs trying to achieve this look.
>>54772923
Oh shit I forgot the rest of the post. I feel like it's gotten worse, but I'm also slightly rockist and I like progressions. MJ waited until he was very old until he had a bad public image. JB had to do a roast to try and change it
>>54772853
Yea, JBiebs loves Burzum. What do you think made him do all that self-destructive shit? He makes music like this then goes home and listens to scandi metal.

I like Zayn Malik's new song far more than I expected.
>>54772970
I really don't think he listens to Burzum, maybe Metallica or Megadeth or some claasic metal but not Burzum.
>>54772970
>>54772757
Now I have to throw out all my Burzum albums!
>>54772853

>>54772923
Man that is really good! Got anything more in that style?
>>54772995
Same
>>54772757
nah he's becoming less relevant by the day
It's undulated. I think today's pop (of the hip-hop variety in particular) music is often quite good, although lesser than that of half a decade ago.
>>54773303
>irony is a thing which exists
lol
>retards exist
Gaga is holding the hand of one of the Anthrax guys.
Rhianna is well known to be a huge rock fan
>>54773303

nigrette's nails is longer than a squid's tits no way them is playin' fingers
>>54775031
she does seem like one of the more pleasant pop stars, but perhaps i'm basing that off her generally avoiding narcissistic tabloid behavior.
>>54775238
I've seen girls with longish nails be able to play standard chords
Is lana del rey pop?
>>54775331
yeah but there's a difference, they weren't faking it c:
Bruno Mars is fun, Beyoncé is GOAT enough that I listen to her on my own time, Rihanna has her moments, Katy Perry is always catchy, I've never been able to hate Drake, Taylor Swift is enjoyable. Am I missing anyone?
>modern pop music
No
A lot of stuff discussed on this board could be called pop music, but I'm assuming you mean Top 40 stuff. I don't really pay attention to that stuff too much, although it's difficult to avoid if you go out in public. Every once in a while a good, catchy song will be made that I will enjoy, but not usually enough to download it or anything, but enough to enjoy it. I respect a lot of pop stars for their talent, and while I wish that they did more with their music, I understand that I'm not their target demographic, which is young girls that like repetitive, simple, comfortable songs. I think pop music has gotten worse over the decades, but it is also not completely devoid of hope. And I don't think JB is the modern day MJ. He has a huge following, but MJ was unique in his ability as an entertainer and artist, and JB hasn't really displayed that as of yet, but he is talented and I think he could make more interesting music in the future

>Beyoncé is GOAT enough
ugh

Rhianna, Gaga and Charli XCX
