Yea I've been listening to jazz since '15

That's one of my favorites. Can't play it often though because I've played it to death.

Pick one.
I added a fuckton of jazz to my library, most of which I haven't gotten to yet. I've got tons of Miles (including a collection of 8 mono recordings), Mingus, Monk, Coltrane, Hancock, and a smattering of others.
Latest listen was Miles' On the Corner, which I didn't think was one of his better ones.

the inflated tear has a special place in my heart
Haven't listened to enough jazz to think I have a valid opinion on whats good and what isn't, but the piano on this album is absolutely glorious.

Elis & Tom
Antonio Carlos Jobin - Wave
João Gilberto - O Amor O Sorriso e a Flor
Look for stuff written by Vinicius de Moraes

it's called bossa nova. Antonio Carlos Jobim and Joao gilberto are great starting places. The former sings less, but his stuff is arranged very thick and the latter sings almost every song but it can be very minimalist

Jazz should be critiqued liked any other music. Just because you're uniformed it doesn't mean you don't have an album that is your current favorite. Bill Evans is great to check out no matter what.
there was a thread about this album like an hour ago. it's entry-level mingus and no one is proud of you for discovering it
>>54529331
what a pointless comment
>>54529331
well i didnt see the thread. and this thread isnt about mingus. and idgaf.
who said anything about discovering? i just said its my favorite album atm.
get the fuck out you dumb cunt.
I don't listen to much jazz, but someone shared this one is a sharethread not too long ago, and I've been loving it since.
Anything similar?

basically the same personnel with the same feel, thick horn lines, polyphony, a 'contemporary' jazz sound. Not to mention gary smulyan shreads the bari sax
