I toy with the idea of deleting everything and going full streamy. But without my music, I don't know who I am. Would be liberating tho.

I think about doing that a lot, but cant' quite work up the courage to hit delete. I have all my music carefully rated. Have it all arranged in custom genre tags based what emotion each song/album elicits. I don't even have a huge library anymore. Chopped it down to the essentials, and then chopped even more. Have a bunch of custom mixtapes with careful transitions that you just can't replicate by making an online playlist. Etc. I know it's stupid.
The thought of just not thinking about it anymore is a nice one.

i love this album, why doesn't /mu/ ever discuss Air?
>>54462616
Wish I could still listen to them. I was finishing high school in southern California when that dropped. Was driving in my car when "Summertime" came on the radio for the first time. That was the cd everyone had in their car. Everyone knew the words to every song.
But then it became the thing all the bros listened to. And it was at every shitty bar. 15 years later, all the people who never evolved, shitty fat violent drunk skatepunks in their vans, high socks, and sagging cut-off dickies, still singing every word. I lost every good feeling I had towards that album.

I am from Orange County, and was in high school when Sublime came out with 40 oz to Freedom. That and the follow up were inescapable and for a short time, I got into them.
Then I got older and started hearing all the songs that they would rip off. Blows my mind how much of their output was based on other stuff. Here's one that I bring up all the time that people usually miss:
"What I Got" rips off Beatles' "Lady Madonna", and hard.

The lyrical phrasing and melody is identical. Chords are almost the same, but a tiny bit off. If they hadn't "borrowed" from dozens of songs in the past already, I might chalk it up to coincidence. But nah, he probably knew what he was doing.
also this may be something, though I haven't started with this chart myself yet
>>54463561
wow. Robin Thicke would be pissed to hear this.
>>54463561
>But nah, he probably knew what he was doing.
oh im sure he did. the entire album is basically covers. i used to live in OC as well and can confirm how much that album was around.

>i do wish i was at home watching point break

Correction: Any music created with the intention of being beachy or chill is WOAT.
It's fine if your music ends up having a calming effect, but if you make something with the intention of it being le chill 420smoking music then you should kill yourself.
