I just did it for fun years ago, and decided to keep it since there's no harm to it. I do slightly prefer it, since the movements with names and lengths are freely available and they split into logical descernable (for the most part) segments. Several of the CD tracks comprise of two or more smaller songs that have been played live separately on multiple occasions, for an example Monheim and 3rd Part. It's just an alternative representation of the albums contents, and I like that representation better instead of the bloated vinyl-side one.

For one, youtube is not where you go for their live sets, the band allows people to record their material and a good deal of it is of decent quality with the uploader having listed their mic and other equipment setup.
It's still not as good as the quality of the studio recordings, but some live tracks are far less muddled from the production work and the band is more "on" with some performances during certain shows.
I've listened to live tracks that blow the studio ones out of the water, this is the first band that got me into live recordings.

Albini is a hack, but miraculously he didn't manage to fuck up the album. It is soulless if you judge it by the same the same standard as their other albums, but instead it offers more complex palette of emotion and ideas that are easy to dismiss if you only compare it to the predecessors. And in any case it's still the best music they ever produced. It's the one album that truly exhibits their range of their capabilities (which 'Allelujah is the anti-thesis of).
Also, Rockets is the worst song on the album. Easy to get into, but it's simple, repetitive and void.
