His albums usually have a unifying genre. Midnite Vultures is disco revival. Morning Phase is Folk Rock. Sea Change is Indie Folk. His earlier albums are anti-folk.

I don't know if Morning Phase is the album that deserves A grammy, but BECK I think deserves it as an artist. He's been making great albums for years and years, as a performer, songwriter, everything.
Also, he's a great populist music story. Kids can dream of becoming Beck - he was just a broke-ass, scummy kid who loved a lot of folk shit, and just made music to make it until someone bothered to notice.
