I've been trying to start learning musical theory (keys and time signatures mainly) for a while but have never known where to start.
Does /mu/ have any tips or do any of you know any good resources to start learning with?
>>65752930
learn an instrument, preferably piano.
will make it a lot easier
>>65752943
I know piano and guitar, still really confuses me
go to the /comp/ general
We're starting a composition YouTube live video stream that will teach music theory and how to apply it. The first stream is currently scheduled for tomorrow at 6 p.m., US Central Time
What does he listen to?
That's a meme rap fan if ever i saw one
>>65752904
That is a pigeon I don't think he listens to music
Was he just a meme? Or did he have legitimately good music? What should I listen to?
Chronologically tbhfam.
His best stuff was before he became a side-show.
>>65752878
I believe the ordinary way to "into" any music, is to listen to that music
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bp_Yd2dChsM
his best song. He has a few other good ones, but its mostly garbage. He's a bit memey because he would eat his poo on stage and try to rape/fight the audience.
>>65752938
wow that's fucking awful
clearly not someone who wanted to be a musician
Holy shit this is really good.
>>65752736
Yeah it is. Better than that AMSP.
>>65752740
Is AMSP meant to put you to sleep? Yawnfest
best radiohead album tbdesu.
Such a horribly, horribly underrated album. Radiohead fans are plebs who can't into polyrhythms.

Zach man thanks here
go to bed death grips its too late to be awake right now
Is his arrogance an act, real but delusional, or real and well earned?
> B I P O L A R
also autism
>>65752680
an act and well earned
>>65752680
All of the above.
He plays it up because you don't stay relevant for being mild-mannered.
He's objectively successful in his field, so he's earned being an asshole in that regard. At the end of the day, all the people that call his music garbage are more likely than not going home to continue being worth 1/100th his net worth or less.
Doesn't mean he's likeable, and I don't particularly enjoy his music, but his work ethic and success are respectable.
What is /mu/'s opinion on the greatest music genre?
I haven't heard any of it but it's shit.
>>65752453
Absolute shit
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNveMjoSxp0
Do you find this to be the most funniest thing in music history?
it's the funniest thing that has ever occurred

What have you been listening recently? What are your favourite jazz releases from 2016?
What books on jazz can you recommend, I got History of Jazz by Ted Giola, and I'm looking for the autobiography of Miles. Are there any books on Coltrane or O. Coleman you could recommend?
bump
My current Jazz backlog.
Don't really care for biographies or autobiographies.
