I have noticed that some recent electronic artists don't seem to like associating with IDM. Even if 15 years their music would have had that label. Is it because they want to appear more culturally rooted?
who cares
it's not really up to them to label their music
if autechre hate being called IDM they should stop making it so much
>>60788108
no, more culturally enriched
>>60788142
im not tlaking about autechre idk what they think about it. talking more about people like arca, sd laika etc
>band/artist has scripted banter for live shows
Whats an example of this
>>60788103
Oh I know a bunch, anon
>band members fight over candy on stage
Forgetting the games they belong to, what are the greatest GTA radios?
Vice City > V > Vice City Stories > SA > III > IV
>>60788043
>IV
>last
wow
they were all pretty fukkin good tbhfam
I actually liked the talk radio stations because they had such fucking crazy ass SJW shit being said on them as parody that is actually what you hear on radio and TV stations now though like density or something
What is the best boards of canada song and why is it Peacock Tail?
My favorite track is Reddit is Numbers
>>60787767
Cause it's comfy AF. If Snorlax had a theme song, it would be Peacock Tail.
Peacock tail and Music is Math are really similar in structure and tempo and shit but they are also complete polar opposites emotionally for me. I like listening to both back to back.
I've been listening to dub all day.
I really like how sparse it is. There is so much space between whats going on in the music.
Is there any music out there that specializes specifically in this idea of negative space in music?
dean blunt
lowercase
>>60787758
That´s what makes dub unique. Real dub is made by the guy at the mixer, not a musician. So he stripped regular songs to drum and bass without caring for lyrics or solos and improvised .
I´ve read somewhere that King Tubby was a jazz fan and liked Coltrane, Miles Davis and Ornette Coleman
Rec > guess > rate > hate
Most importantly, be kind and make patrician friends.

Writing an essay on Mozart's string quartets and have to stray away from turning it into a biography, any suggestions on some specifics pertaining to his string quartets that i could build some essay substance from? (pic completely unrelated)
>>60787665
Don't, write an essay on how AM is the album of the decade so far instead
that would be significantly easier haha
>>60787665
i think the op should write about the butt flute instead
For example, let's try to define the difference between "tracing" "lip syncing" "covers" and "studies"

i like this album

True or False: Loveless is the best album of the nineties
True
False
Abbey Road is the best album of the sixties
So how are we feeling about Dream Theater's new album?
Personally, their new feature "The Gift of Music" sounds really... don't know. Doesn't sound like a Dream Theater song. Thoughts?
I like it OP, it sounds reminiscent of six degrees. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the album.
And, assuming you listen to DT like I do, you won't really like it at first, but it'll grow on you.
Also /mu is a bunch of fags so expect the thread to die because there's no fairypop or niggertunz here
>>60789332
Awake is their best album, and just as good as any /mu/ core album IMO
>>60789357
So not very good at all?
What is your favorite Scaruffi-core album?

Evolution did not design us to believe only true facts, nor to buy only useful products, nor to say only meaningful sentences”
It's possible that awhile ago some form of life made a tingy tingy or a boom bang or a zzzzzzzzwong and that made them content, so they did it over and over until BAM music. Then they did it until no one could stand it anymore and BAM dub step
New (old) Boards of Canada track:
https://touched.bandcamp.com/track/northwest-territories
The track is part of a new charity compilation for Touched Music where famous IDM artists have submitted tracks but are credited anonymously.
The track sounds like a slightly less catchy ROYGBIV to my ears, definitely of the MHTRTC era from it's production style.
There is discussion of the compilation here on Twoism:

it's shit
>>60787312
it's obviously a throwaway but still nice to hear something from the vault
Better than TH, worse than Geogaddi.
It's a pretty good song, I'd put it instead of Rue the Whirl on MHTRTC.
