So, what is the consensus, /mu/? When you're talking about a band, do you refer to the band as one collective entity or a group of people? Like, would you say

It depends which dialect you speak, as far as I know.

wikipedia uses 'is' for american groups and 'are' for english groups

No. It is still very well alive, and evolving. It's no longer slowed down "le ambient" soundscapes anymore. Some seriously talented people are coming forth now.
