Itunes gift cards might just be the most worthless thing one can buy
So a younger acquaintance of mine posted on facebook that they got a Crosley for Christmas, and they're all excited about it. I wanna tell them that they might end up ruining their records, but I don't wanna make them feel like I'm shitting on their gift, or have 'em go out and spend more money on a record player.
It also doesn't help that we barely know each other. They're the younger sibling of a friend I don't really keep touch with anymore, and the only time we really spoke was when I ran into them at a concert.
Should I tell them?
Just ignore you dingus
>>61255557
they won't listen
I've tried to tell friends this and they usually respond with "its all I can afford"
>>61255557
mate records don't last anyway.
Unless of course this player ruins them in several plays, then that's an issue.
I have nothing but old derelict players, so I assume they will ruin them over time. I usually use records for samples.
I have to.....
Would like some music to listen to while I drink.

My two friends and I are starting a band together. My one friend is really into edgy tween rock, e.g. blink-182, my chemical romance, three days grace and other stuff like system of a down and Marilyn Manson. I'm afraid that he's going to want to make tween rock and I don't want to be a part of that. How do I go about talking to him about how we can't make that kind of music? I'm thinking about introducing him into some post-rock and experimental stuff before I confront him to get him interested in other music, but he may not go for it. Also, what are some good post-rock and experimental rock albums that would be good to show him? I was thinking lift your skinny fists like antennas to the heavens. Pic Unrelated, just needed a filler pic.
just don't be in a band wit him
>>61255278
I don't really want to give up on him this early into it, plus I don't have anyone else to be in a band with.
