Hello

I have never tried drugs or alcohol of any sort. I am not underage, I never bothered searching for things or going to parties. However, I hear about people using drugs listening to music all the time and I was wondering which drugs you people use when you listen to music. Pic related is my favorite album of you have any recommendations.

Finally got around to listening to this, enjoyed it but I couldn't help but think that there's gotta be a more interesting post-punk band/album that's spawned from the revival.

Any suggestions?

If you don't listen to six or more albums a day (at least four being new listens), have at least 3 terabytes of downloaded music, ten fully-stocked shelves of vinyl, play at least five instruments, have an academic understanding of music theory, read and write sheet music, or at the very least perform live, you are unqualified to discuss music and should not be allowed to post here. Agree?

I've got 3 terabytes of 60's pre-ambient

800 gigs of live recordings of this local band called the fuckerfucks. They played only 2 shows before breaking up but I had 11 redundant recording rigs all recording flac which I then layered over one another for 25,000 kbps bitrate.

8 terabytes of the beatles. No not THOSE beatles, the new beatles. They haven't recorded an album yet and technically they're not really a band yet but they're indie-gospel-post-funk-punk style is going to be huge when you guys hear their stuff in about 5 years.

4 petabytes of the Ethiopian Free Jazz wave that occurred in 1973 in a town called Wenji Gefersi.

18 terabytes of sound check recordings from the mid 90's band LFO. They only scored a hit with "I like girls (who wear abercrombie and fitch)" but they were way ahead of their time.

That's just my C: drive. I have 41 drives.

In my book:

1. Teen Dream
2. MBDTF
3. Cosmogramma
4. GKMC
5. Halcyon Digest
6. Lonerism
7. Money Store
8. ArchAndroid
9. RTJ2

RTJ2 is still like a 5/10 so it's not too harsh of a rating

Rap is utter shit at best, but this is pure fact.

Even at its lowest, most niggerish and subhuman tier of "music", the white one is the one that is always more talented and more gifted.
>>
You all have shit tastes in music, just admit it you plebeians. The whites are always at the top, and try to prove me wrong, but you'll never know the truth like you ignorant pigs always do.

>Rage Against The Machine, the band that launched rap-metal worldwide, realized one of the most important leitmotivs of the decade: a fundamental unity of purpose between the music of black urban rebels and the music of white urban rebels. Rage Against The Machine (1992), one of the most violent albums of the time, a worthy heir to MC5's homicidal fury, sustained seismic shocks after seismic shocks thanks to Tom Morello's guitar explosions (from Hendrix-ian glissandoes to Page-esque hard-rock riffs), Zack de la Rocha's visceral and frantic rapping and ultra-syncopated hail-like rhythms. The sinister and morbid atmosphere of Evil Empire (1996), virtually a philosophical essay on willpower, and the passionate call to arms of The Battle of Los Angeles (1999) reached new depths although they lost most of the bite.

AC/DC are one of the greatest heavy-metal bands of all times, and one of the most authentic acts of rock'n'roll. They embody the wild, rebellious quintessence of rock music like few other bands before punk-rock. They were the opposite of the intellectual singer-songwriter or the brainy progressive-rock or the decadent glam-rock of the 1970s: they were not the brain and not the heart but the guts of rock and roll. Rolling Stone Magazine gave a "zero" to several of their albums: the greatest compliment ever paid to them.

Both objectively correct
>>
Ultraviolence (Interscope, 2014), produced by the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, jettisoned the hip-hop beats and, by that single move, achieved a much deeper sense of sincerity. Cruel World is the ultimate cry of loneliness, with psychedelic overtones and reminiscent of Jim Steinman's teen melodramas (the melody spirals up in a manner similar to Bonnie Tyler's hit Total Eclipse Of The Heart). West Coast is a blues lament derailed by details such as a soprano surge and a vintage guitar twang, which appropriately segues into the slow-burning, martial, plantation chant Sad Girl, perhaps the peak of pathos. Shades Of Cool weaves its tenderness around a desperate melismatic yodel, a waltzing tempo and a stoic guitar solo (and well disguised is the influence of Janis Joplin on this structure). It gets even sadder than that, in the funereal Pretty When You Cry, whose grandiose finale borrows from Kate Bush and Pink Floyd. The rest is filler. As a five-song EP, this would have been a masterpiece.

Not really, that's partly what Whitehouse like doing with their music: making you engage with the parts of yourself that exist, but that you're either too ashamed, embarrassed, or scared of to acknowledge.

Just think about why their music makes you feel that way. Do you experience a sense of power from their lyrics that's missing in your day to day life? What's the reason you never became a dancer?
>>
>>63167084
I guess it would be the power and force that their music carries. It is so intense and powerful, it is a motivator for me.
