worst albums you've ever heard.
pic related. found it in a bandcamp thread. listened to it and it is by far THE WORST music i have heard in my entire life. whats the worst you've ever heard mu?
i have never enjoyed an album less than pinkerton. there's definitely worse out there, i'm sure - i just haven't found it yet.

what order do you guys eq and compress in? do you do it to all your tracks in a song? what about on the master or grouped tracks or buses or return channels?
also any good resources on compression would be appreciated, it's definitely something i've been neglecting for too long

depends, for example if the compressor pumps too much because of low frequency stuff you obviously shelf that down in front and pull it back up after, often you need both pre and post eq

when needed. some signals need dynamic processing, some don't. you can't generalize that

compression on busses is the main thing you need to do to 'blend' certain elements together, for example a bus for all rhythmic elements, another one for all harmonic elements, another one for all vocals ... compressing each of them to taste can do wonderful things
compressing the master is an obvious thing needed for many genres, you can't get enough clean loudness from a main bus limiter most of the times, shit needs to be carefully compressed first
