Yes it is indeed Album of the year
imo this year has been pretty stacked in terms of both dance and experimental electronic music, but this is definitely in contention for being one of my favorite releases. the fifth 'disc' especially.

I hate it because my mum used to have it on a playlist for long car journeys. This, Abba, Barbara Streisand and shit like that. Now I associate them with 6 hour car rides
despite idm acts often being praised here (aphex, venetian snares, autechre etc) i rarely see the genre itself, related record labels, and lesser known artists being discussed.

Scaruffi explains himself in great detail on those pages. If you'd just get past the rating and the meme pastas and actually read the thing, you'd see he makes very good points.
