Does anyone else find RAM's tracklist really weird in the first third of the album? The monologue would work so much better if it was the starter for the album and then with the second track you could 'Give Life Back to Music'. And then there are two downtempo tracks that belong nowhere near the start of the record in the middle of two fun and dancy tracks. I love the album but why would they place the tracks so bizarrely?
Who the fuck cares about track orders? really? You're weird.
ive been listening to the album for years and especially during very significant events but i didnt find the track orders weird. If you didnt mention i probably wont think about it.
Maybe because that was the literal intent. It's even "hidden" in the album name. I think it was explained in of of the interviews with the collaborators. It was supposed to replicate how on a memory drive things aren't necessarily sorted and kind of just randomly put together in a nonsensical way.
Now that Prince is relevant again I must familiarize myself with his music in order to retain my patrician status. Where do I start with him and what's his best album? Don't tell me Purple Rain, that's what all the plebs seem to like.
>>64254783
Contrarians' choice for best Prince album is seemingly Batman
>>64254783
Batman and 4u are his only big albums.
Your patrician status only has to claim he is overrated, say he is a 2nd rate James Brown until the hype dies down and then you can get into his music.
He's next.
hell be fine
musicians are dead to us when they stop making music we like
when we read that they've actually died we're sad for them as a person and not as a musician

ILLUMINATI
Hey /mu/, I'm looking to buy my first synth within the next week or two. I've heard great things about the Arturia Microbrute on here and other sites. I've heard people say that this synth is more "in your face" sounds and not so much ambient sounds. Is there a synth of as good quality in the same price range for ambient music?
That is fine for ambient music too, what you play is what matters. The sound of the filter is what they are calling in your face, just cause it can get hairy. Doesn't have to, just depends on how you use it. Really good unit!
>>64254764
Oh cool. Thanks!
It doesn't work with some of my pedals for some reason. The Strymon bluesky for example, I would try it out with your setup if possible before buying.
Is 2016 the year where everyone dies ?
Who's next ?
I place my bets of Fripp
I hope fat Mike dies, I'm trying to get my job at punk rock back

thought that was the pope
Bet one of the Beatles
>watching the movie "sinister" with a qt
>terrible movie, but there's a song that is 10/10 patrician and I jokingly say it sounds like animal collective (she doesn't get it)
>look it up after
>Boards of Canada, "Gyroscope"
I had heard of Boards of Canada, but this intrigued me. How do I into them? Where to start?
>>64254726
Start listening boc maxima, music has right to the children and geogaddi.
Some great song (imho): sixtyniner, whitewater, ryogbiv, aquarius, 1969.
But all their songs are great, these are just some of them.
their song music is math legit made me cry the first time i heard it
you should always start with Music has the Right to Children. just so you can get a proper feel for their sound and what theyre going for.
here's a great chart. Gyroscope is from Geogaddi which is a much darker sounding album, with links to satanism, cults etc.
have fun
What went wrong?
holy shit is that Fred Durzt?
