Got me out of my dadrock-centrism

it didnt
>>66322777
That's not an improvement. That's worse.
>artist uses presets they bought online
How can anyone who doesn't design their own sounds be taken seriously?
>>66322681
what
>>66322681
true
but that's assuming more than 0.01% of the public can identify a preset
If i had to make every preset from scratch i'd never finish a song
Do you mean samples? Loops? What a fuck a preset means in music production? Do you even know what are you talking about?
How do I write music like them?
tune your t.v. to nickelodeon and there you go
you'll be a huge faggot in no time
Use chords that sound like they're on all black keys when the're one white keys, repeatedly strumming them into an ambient, textural pool of sound, then introduce a more steady rhythm and insert lyrics that border on the whimsical and the grotesque.

>Use chords that sound like they're on all black keys when the're one white keys
wat
What do the hip hop fags think? Is it up there with the original great albums of his?
I kinda dig Ten Toes Down and Let Me See Em Up.
>>66322393
I thought it was underwhelming and Bush was better
Its not too bad, but no where near up there with snoops older albums
>>66322421
Agreed. Bush is ridiculously underrated. Such a smooth, comfy album with beautiful arrangements and groovy bass. I love that Snoop was able to realize rapping at his age wouldn't work out, and went full on neosoul for it.

There's one thing and one thing only that the mods could do to immensely improve the board, instantly, overnight, and that's facilitate more threads about Faust. Create them, nurture the ones that exist, guide the discussions, and make sure they stay on track. If we're here to discuss music, ultimately, we are here to discuss Faust. There is no way for a person to grasp the full implications of Faust's debut album and not realize this. We're talking about the smartest band that ever existed. You must realize this. It's not a joke anymore. We're...

Who's voice is your favorite in music?
>pics related s mine
I have never heard anyone that understands melody like Elizabeth from the the Cocteau Twins. She sings such sugary yet complex and unique vocal runs that are so angelic and always accessible.

help me /mu/
i'm sad about the new blink 182 album. i just wanted it to be fun and nostalgic, to have a few genuinely strong power pop songs to enjoy in the summer. i wanted matt and mark to do some cool harmonies and write silly pop-emo lyrics like its 2006 again.
instead we got a complete clanger of an album with some of the worst production i've heard in ages. there isn't a single genuinely good sing-along song on here, the lyrics are complete 40-year-old-trying-to-be-18 cringe and matt is totally phoning it in.
who else /sad/ here
Nobody is sad go listen to dadrock old timer sage fuck off plebeian idiot
>some of the worst production i've heard in ages.
example?
>>66321627
it's typical Feldman production just like what he does for All Time Low of 5SOS
the entire thing is compressed to fuck, the guitars sound awful and tinny. it's a great radio sound for sure, but there's no depth to it. the songs sound so flat, even by commercial pop punk standards.

What's some more essential jingle-jangles?
Well there's every other R.E.M. album up until Document for starters. Don't forget Chronic Town either.
>>66321396
I have every good R.E.M album along with all albums by The Smiths, where do I go from here?
>>66321477
>I have every good R.E.M album
Which do you consider the good ones?
