>you will never hear this for the first time again
why live
that album is shit
>>64331924
hey
>>64331924
even so that was one hell of a first time
how does one make an album this good. step by step
maybe you're just memeing but if this is a serious question i would say he probably messed with samples and synths and midi for a long time and has a lot of practice in that type of stuff so he knows the technicalities and how to make good melodies. and then another element is finding the samples which im not sure how he did, maybe he just wanted to make a sample based album and looked up movies and songs he liked and took snippets or maybe he just wrote down in a notebook whenever he heard a cool potential sample. and then the third part is the actual vibes and atmospheres...

yah it takes a long time to get there. OPN had already been making music for probably 10 years or something. Also I think he got all his samples from tv commercials
>laughing and not being normal
Um it's just a sub-2:00 intro type thing, 7/10 I guess
>California
Catchy, most upbeat and happy song in the album. Very good 9/10
>SCREAM
What. The. Fuck. This doesn't fit this album or Grimes at all 0/10
>Flesh w/o Blood
Also catchy, decent lyrics and excellent work on the voice. Easy 10/10
>Belly of the Beat
I don't know, it's just...

its shit
Those are some over inflated ratings. How can something be average and a 7/10? What the actual fuck are you for real
Even more controversial opinion:
Scream is a good track
Best-known for his massive 1972 hit "Me and Mrs. Jones," he had a long career going back to the 1950's. Here's a 10-minute psychedelic soul-prog track he did in 1973 called "War of the Gods":

lol this fucking year i swear to ged
>>64331738
Well to be fair, he WAS 81 years old. That's slightly past the normal life expectancy for a male in the US, so, we can't really say he expired before his time.
>>64331981
it doesn't matter how old he was
this is the year everybody dies
I think this guy is boring
>its a kanye thread
show some respect he just died
>>64331633
Not even that much of a Kanye guy
I just don't understand the love for tupac
He just seems slow and generic
>be me
>download this album from amazon because Prince died
>gap between "Uptown" and "Head"
>"Uptown" is obviously supposed to segue into "Head"
>Wat do?
Check it out from YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY and rip it

Are you ashamed of your tastes?
>favorite band of all time is Swans
>someone asks what music I listen to
>say Kanye West because I don't want them to ask what Swans is or associate with the edgy themes, and I know enough about Kanye to pretend I listen to him
Do you do this, /mu/?
Another thing, I don't hear Death Grips at all in Blackstar, why would he have said this
meme school
I'm a big fan of Swans and people who say they're edgy are just stupid
>>64331045

I need to listen to more from this year
Yoni & Geti - Testarossa
Xiu Xiu - Plays the Music of Twin Peaks
Spark Master Tape - Silhouette of a Sunkken City
Aesop Rock - The Impossible Kid
Kanye West - The Life of Pablo
Babyfather - BBF Hosted by DJ Escrow
Lushlife - Ritualize
Artists similar to Sufjan Stevens (specifically Illinois era)
Joanna Newsom
S.Carey
(a little different, but in the ball park)
Joanna Newsom-Closest thing you'll find, methinks
Andrew Bird. The Myseterious production of eggs is where I'd start.
Anais Mitchell- Hadestown, and Young Man in America. Hadestown is pretty ambitious(and one of my favorite albums), i'd give that one a try.
Beirut- Lot of folky horns. Kind of gypsy, Eastern european inspired.
Mother Falcon- More on the symphonic Folk side. You Knew is probably the best example.
Neutral Milk Hotel- I'm sure you've heard it by now.
Little Tybee- For Distant Viewing.
Kishi Bashi.151a is my favorite...
