Who are your favorite vocalists and why?
Also, any singingfags here? What's worked for you?

Here's the thing about Mike. The man has some serious pipes. He has a six octave range and excels in any octave. He writes brilliant songs. And his stage presence is only matched by Adolf Hitler.
Seriously, Watch Mr. Bungle play Pink Cigarette at Bizarre Festival and then watch a video of the Nuremburg rallies. We better thank our lucky stars Mike didn't go into politics or he would have taken over the world.
But Mr. Bungle as a whole had a brilliant dynamic. It wasn't just the Mike Patton backup band. They all made huge creative contributions to...

John Mayer, despite a limited range, is a fantastic live singer

That was a lot of fun to read anon, thank you. For what it's worth, I agree with you on most accounts; Mr. Bungle is one of the better examples of how a true musical "collective" can be much more than one person's vision. Honestly, I think Mike brings that to most projects he's involved in. Phantomas would be another example.
I know he's basically a living legend, but just because of the nature of his work, I would still argue he's underrated. This is a man with a massive,...

Great tribal drums with laid-back instrumentals. I'm not that into jazz, but I really enjoy this record...especially the title track

Reminder that techno, house and breaks each are as varied, expansive and different in their respective 30 years history as hlp hop, metal or bop.
okay
what's your point music as a whole is probably the most varied art form
>>64575921
You wish. The fact is, this Beatles album has more variety in 35 minutes than all 35-so years of EDM.

What is /mu/'s opinion of them?
Anybody?
Love them
i love what they're about, mixing electronic with analogue, 70s television and all that
Is PW good live? Im going to see them tonight but don't want to get my hopes up
Yes it's great live, they implement a lot of long jams and intermissions that the studio versions really needed, much better than the actual album (not to mention daily routine is fucking amazing live)
All of the impression that may have been lost on you with the album will suddenly hit you when you see the painters live, like a drug taking a delayed affect
Yeah, I really liked it when I saw them in Chicago. I'm still kinda bummed they didn't play anything from Strawberry Jam and that Daily was the only song used from mpp
