All memeing aside, is Led Zeppelin the most talented group of all time?

>Robert Plant: Incredible vocal range, even at his current age (watch Celebration Day)
>John Bonham: Often ranked as the best drummer in rock history. So good that people thought he was using a double bass
>Jimmy Page: Considered one of, if not the best guitarist in rock history. Inspired multiple generations of guitar players
>John Paul Jones: The "forgotten" zeppelin is still an accomplished bass player and organist

Musically talented, yeah.

They are the most talented at ripping off dead black musicians, yes
>>
Now back by popular demand! A list of some of the songs Zep stole from other artists:
"Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" - A folk song by Anne Bredon, this was originally credited as "traditional, arranged by Jimmy Page," then "words and music by Jimmy Page," and then, following legal action, "Bredon/Page/Plant."
"Black Mountain Side" - uncredited version of a traditional folk tune previously recorded by Bert Jansch.
"Bring It On Home" - the first section is an uncredited cover of the Willie Dixon tune (as performed by the imposter Sonny Boy Williamson).
"Communication Breakdown" - apparently derived from Eddie Cochran's "Nervous Breakdown."
"Custard Pie" - uncredited cover of Bukka White's "Shake 'Em On Down," with lyrics from Sleepy John Estes's "Drop Down Daddy."
"Dazed And Confused" - uncredited cover of the Jake Holmes song (see The Above Ground Sound Of Jake Holmes).
"Hats Off To (Roy) Harper" - uncredited version of Bukka White's "Shake 'Em On Down."
"How Many More Times" - Part one is an uncredited cover of the Howlin' Wolf song (available on numerous compilations). Part two is an uncredited cover of Albert King's "The Hunter."
"In My Time Of Dying" - uncredited cover of the traditional song (as heard on Bob Dylan's debut).
"The Lemon Song" - uncredited cover of Howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor" - Wolf's publisher sued Zeppelin in the early 70s and settled out of court.
"Moby Dick" - written and first recorded by Sleepy John Estes under the title "The Girl I Love," and later covered by Bobby Parker.
"Nobody's Fault But Mine" - uncredited cover of the Blind Willie Johnson blues.
"Since I've Been Lovin' You" - lyrics are the same as Moby Grape's "Never," though the music isn't similar.
"Stairway To Heaven" - the main guitar line is apparently from "Taurus" by Spirit.
"White Summer" - uncredited cover of Davey Graham's "She Moved Through The Fair."
"Whole Lotta Love" - lyrics are from the Willie Dixon blues "You Need Love."

Is Burial the only good artist to come out of UK Garage? Aside from him, it should just be called uk GARBAGE amirite?

i love the genre but yes the vast majority of uk garage producers are shit. but there's a decent amount of okay music that has uk garage elements in it.

i guess jamie xx's in colour from last year has uk garage elements and that was pretty good. disclosure - settle had a few good garage tunes.

i recently listened to djrum -struktur and it was pretty good. not burial level but good. same as volor flex - exhale.

>>
>>65137728

and if burial is not uk garage, then what is?

Worst type of music listener?

My vote goes to the girl who copies her boyfriend's music taste completely and passes it off as her own.

My vote goes to the /mu/tant who just downloaded the essentials and thinks he is patrician and better than his ''normie'' friends because he swapped Billboard for Pitchfork.

>tfw my girlfriend doesnt follow my taste despite lots of similarities, I listen to loads of /mu/ shit and she loves indie math rock like Girlfriends, Jank, americ anfootball, shit like that

death-grips.jpg

Death Grips has created the new style: post rap. The band shows people that rap is actually fucking ridiculous with overblown masculine references, where the performers were shouting about the size of their dick and the bitches they fuck fuck for so long that the only thing that is literally left to talk about is sexual rage, where "of course I can make you scream, but if you ask for more." Rap always glorified the idea of publicity; that the performer is known by everyone that he is the new rock star, whom everyone wants to be, but Death Grips show that now he is actually a paranoid autist in "eight-high abandoned building" and you are literally not just wanting to be him, but you are trying to understand him and he dares you to "come up and get" him. Even more there was always the glorification of drugs and reckless behavior, telling everyone that they smoke weed or drink lean and that are in open rebellion against the forces. Well Death Grips show us that in fact we are seeing not just a rebellion but an ugly reality, where those rock stars are "Tailpipe draggin’, volume blastin’, bailin’ out my brain" and are "Never not on it, leanin' so hard you're ashamed." Musically, Death Grips exhibit tons of electronic and rock influences from previous years, and of course this is not at all new with bands like Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit doing this before, but now it is just a nearly random wall of sound with just mush of all the previous ideas. And the beat, that was always glorified in nearly every rap song and highlighted to the point where it almost became the main part of the track is now highlighted by the flat drums and electronics making the sound so raw that we cannot say if it is a rap beat anymore.

pls ask question, I can't explain myself properly in 2K signs

But Limp Bizkit already pioneered this music 18 years ago.
