Oh yes, Power Ponies was great too. And of course there are definitely good "everyone" SoL (Saddle Row, Best Night Ever, etc) but the adventure ones for whatever reason are now just focusing on Twilight. Even the EQG movies are the same, and it was the worst in Friendship Games.
It's because of this I fear for the movie. I feel like whoever the biggest guest voice actor ends up being, will be a new character pushed to be as popular as Twilight as a draw in for the film. Everyone still gets marketed, but they never really focus on the group at all.
I hope I'm proven wrong. And I may be, as the (leaked?) poster does show what appears to be the Mane 6 plus Spike running together. Her magic is literally reality warper level, which makes her out of the box stronger than AJ could ever be, and Rarity and pinkie don't exactly have any combat related skills.
Now, in other works this could be alleviated by having the Power character be dumb or lacking in skills so as to make them require the help of the other character for technical stuff or information (Like for example, donnatello in TMNT being the sole member with tech skills is automatically always useful). but Twilight is not ONLY the most powerful of the group but also the most knowledgeable and best leader as well.
So what could the others contribute really to an adventure realistically? The only real options there are fluttershy having animal affinity, or dash being able to fly faster, but you're running into "This looks like a job for aquaman" scenarios as you'd have to SPECIFICALLY engineer the situations to make twilight need them. This is kind of the problem; Twilight's powers have been growing constantly while everyone else has stayed level, leading to a "goku and his friends" scenario.
With the Elements of harmony at least they were guaranteed a spot previously in being needed to work as a group, but the staff has turned this on its head by demonstrating that they'd rather use the others as Power batteries at best with how FG treated them.
There's really very little ways to fix adventure episodes without either nerfing twilight or giving super powers to the other 5 (ala power ponies), which is not really something that'd be easy to do believably.

Honestly, this also goes back to my problems with the writers. Getting rid of the Elements was one of the worst decisions I feel the show made, as it made the Mane 5 even less useful. Then you had Rainbow Power, which COULD have been something, but the writers threw that away without any thought. Seriously, Rainbow Power could have been the right answer to fix some of this, but I have no idea why that was forgotten about.
The movie would need to do something like Friendship is Magic, have each pony have some sort of role to play in the grand picture, each character needs to have a purpose. And I don't see how that's really too difficult to think of. Instead, we get stuff like batteries in Friendship Games.

This can be traced almost 100% to Lauren and Renzetti leaving. Meghan absolutely adored twilight and Twilight turned from being a fallable character into the sue we all know nowadays.
In S1 and S2 her spells CONSTANTLY fucked up; like her spell at the start of Return of harmony doing absolutely nothing, or her failed attempts to help applebloom in call of the cutie mark. (or as another example how she could only do the glimmer wing spell once and it drained her fully).
