Wrong. Majority of ponies and eqg share the same model, only differences being body color, mane and cutie mark. Base eqg model is horrible, thus human Shimmer is horrible.

And the colors and hairstyles have a dynamic effect on the A E S T H E T I C. Hence why people have varying interest in the ponies themselves, otherwise "they're all the same generic model".
In Sunset Shimmer's case, despite being introduced (briefly) as a pony, the majority of the time she was going to be shown as a human. Thus it would make sense for the production team to focus more on her human design. And it certainly shows considering her aesthetic design transitions much better to the human model than most of the other ponies. The only other two who also look any good are AJ who also looks human and Rarity who isliterally perfect all the time.Fluttershy is also kinda good I guess despite the jaundice.
