A Thumb War is a war between humans. Humans often like to brag about their thumbs to the other races to the point that a thumbs up can be interpreted as flipping a non-thumber the bird. Ponies who hate humans have taken to calling "thumbs" and "thumbies" like we would call someone a dick or a nigger.
