Why do you guys like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic so much? Also, why do you guys sexualize the characters in it? Please explain what you find so fascinating about the show, its stories, morals, whatever.

Because it's a shining ray of hope and positivity in the ocean of pettiness and cruelty that is life. And it's a high quality character study with an interesting fictional universe and a good sense of humor.

Because they have extremely well developed, and attractive personalities. Which is not to say that they're flawless, but they're realistically flawed, which heightens the appeal, as it makes fantasizing about them that much more tangible.

You want people to explain their sexuality? You can't rationalize the dick, people have sexual preferences that can't always be explained. Can you explain why you get aroused by certain shapes and forms? People have weird sexual fetishes that are way more gross and confusing, animal love is nothing.

The fact that people can be sexually attracted to anthropomorphic animals is actually less surprising, since they have human characteristics, small snouts that look like noses, large eyes and so on. Every animal on earth is biologically programmed to have sex, so there would obviously be some variation.

There's buzz about Faust working on MLP being the death of creator driven animation. Some folks from /co/ tuned in to see the trainwreck. What they saw was a lovingly overbuilt, stylish, thoughtful reboot of what had been one of thew worst cartoon franchises from the 1980's, which was a bad time for cartoons to begin with. It was good, and reaction images from it were great for trolling /b/. Plenty of grown men found themselves enjoying the show without a hint of irony, even if it was their guilty secret. As it spread another group of men got into it - autists. It turned out the show was pure autism candy. A pastel alternate universe populated by pretty ponies that offered simple lessons about friendship had a pretty strong appeal to foreveralone types with high social anxiety who lived on their computers. Four years after this board was created that's most of whose left here.
Why do we sexualize it? We're men looking at a bunch of cute female characters, how could that not happen?

Why do people like MLP? Obviously because it's written in such a way that people can sympathize and empathize with the stories being told, like any good form of storytelling. This is likely true due to the massive proliferation and success of the series with all demographics. The aesthetic design of the show is also simple and appealing, people tend to like colorful things and neotenous character designs.

tl;dw The characters are sexualized because of emotional attachment (The characters are mostly voiced by women and very well fleshed out, they also behave in a way more similar to humans than horses, ie they're anthro) and evolutionary traits (Primarily men) that are used to attract one the opposite sex. Men tend to be the primary demographic for the porn, and this makes sense because men are primarily aroused by visual stimuli. This is also well depicted in artists interpretation of the pornography, adding more humanized traits to the characters behinds and genitalia. It's really no wonder that the porn is such a popular thing in the fandom.
