See, that's the biggest problem with the whole incident. Not that he mocked bronies, but that he was so disturbed by it. He came more across as an oversensitive soccer mom than a shitlord in this debacle.
Bronies aren't scary, they're just cringeworthy. I hate bronies too, but Howard's banter game is still weak as fuck, especially for a so-called broadcasting legend. He needs to take lessons from SIlent Rob. That guy knows how to properly mock bronies.
