Not very.

Fantasizing about a pony's smells is an important part of any man's appreciation of their waifu.

I do have to disagree with your interpretation of her smell, though.

If my job didn't deal with other people or with government services, I would be completely nocturnal. Alas, the only time I can work at night is when all I need to do is paperwork.
>>
>>27592099
Currently NEET. One of the main reasons why I quit my last job was because I couldn't stand the 9 to 5; absolutely hated it with the intensity of 1000 suns or moons. Same reason why I hated school so much. Every summer vacation, my circadian rhythm would naturally shift to me being nocturnal. No matter how hard I tried, I would always be tired during the day and wide awake at night, so I had to do stimulants and depressants to stay on the normalfag schedule. Now I'm a nocturnal NEET. If I ever get a job again, it's definitely going to be a night shift.

Is your guyses IRC still deader than a 'saved by the bell' reunion.
>>
>>27592099

I've always worked nights.

Previous supervisor at this job understood that and let me work the night shift since I was one of two people who actually wanted that shift. She was reassigned, and the new supervisor thinks she's doing me a favor by switching me to days. My attempts to explain that I actually *enjoyed* working graveyards met with a complete lack of comprehension, since she can't imagine anyone actually WANTING to be working security at an oil refinery at night.

She's also a major Christfag, physically repellent without any idea that she IS repellent in literally every last respect, sharp as a bag of hair, and her behavior toward me--and, indeed, all the male staff--verges on harassment.
>>
>>27592857

But, yeah. I've always worked nights. I prefer it. It's cooler, quieter, and excessive bright light has always made me feel nauseous and depressed.
>>
>>27592795
Yes. Every time I bring it up, I get a bunch of retards saying:
>It's dead, so I'm not going to join it and make it be alive.
>>
>>27592869
>excessive bright light has always made me feel nauseous and depressed.
Sounds like someone's cave adapted. (+1 negative thought)
>>
>>27592099
I work a closing shift at a restaurant. It's not exactly a night shift, but I get off work in time to enjoy the moonlight and relax for a few hours before sleep. Honestly, I really enjoy sunlit early mornings, but the moon's always held a special place in my heart.

>I was under the impression the point of the IRC existing was to mock the other generals that had one.
It was, but it was lively the first few weeks thanks to several writefags and a sunbro who made it fun. Since then, it's been dead for months, with those remaining only there just idle there since they're on other channels. They're almost always AFK, and IRC itself is a bit of a barrier of entry for the technologically incompetent. For me personally, it's not worth trying it again since almost no one used it even at its peak. The number of users were always at single digits.

If people really wanted a place to hang out in real time, I'd suggest Discord or >Skype, but the autism that were the /mlp/ Skype groups make me hesitate.
>>
>>27593418
Yeah, I've got to figure out how to get a good lient set up, and I rarely have the patience for delving into new software nowadays.

Skype's not bad. I'm actually in another horsefucker group, and they're all right. Lately though, to program itself has been shitting itself constantly.

>Would you an old, worn-out Luna?

"You must consider yourself pretty lucky to have gotten your job then, huh?"
>"Oh yes, absolutely. I'd never do anything to risk my position or place here."
"I wouldn't be too concerned if I were you, you're a wonderful maid."
>You take another drink of your now near-emptied coffee, and look over at her.
>She seems less miserable now, and you can even catch the faint traces of a smile creeping up her lips.
"So, are you going to be alright?"
>She nods, eyes closed.
>"Yes... yes, I should be okay. Sorry for being a burden to you, Anonymous; I may have overreacted a little."
"It's fine, completely understandable."
>Tea Leaves has gotten up, and after stretching and taking a deep breath, retrieves your cups with her usual tense composure.
>You stand up too, and make your way to the door.
>"Thank you again for your kindness, Anonymous.
"Happy to oblige, Ms. Leaves. Remember, if you ever need anything from me, anything at all, just ask, okay?"
>"I will."
>Tea Leaves departs your chambers, and you close the door as smoothly and quietly as you can behind her.
>>

>Alone once again, you let out a small sigh.
>By now, the warm ochre glow of the morning sun streaming through your window had been replaced by a clear, fresh yellow-white.
>You had been considering a nap, but were far too awake now to give that a shot.
>Resigning yourself to your wakefulness, you instead walk towards the covered platter left on your coffee table by Tea Leaves before the cup-tastrophe.
>Inside, a breakfast of eggs (covered in seasoning and herbs), toast, roasted potatoes and, as usual, a donut.
>Some things never change.
>Next to it, thankfully, lies another small carafe of coffee, alongside its necessary of accoutrements of cream and sugar.
>As you pour yourself another cup, you idly ponder on the nature of your helpless addiciton to the stuff.
>As your cup fills, you dismiss your trivial musings, and afterwards set up your morning spread on the coffee table before you.
>You settle in for some light reading as you eat, basking in the glow of the mornign sunlight and gentle melodies of birdsong from outside your window.
>You knew that before too long, you'd have to return to the archive, if for no other reason than to tell Ink Blot to take the day off.
>For a precious and meagre few hours, though, you let yourself drift off in the happy afterglow of the previous night, forgetting your worries and cares with the promise of your upcoming rendezvous with the Princess.

My autistic headcannon is that she represses her emotions because of what happened last time she gave in to them.

Also what the fuck, my power gets cut for a day and we are setting up a >Skype group now?
>>
>She blushes when you tell her you need to look under her chest panel for the fault she's experiencing.
>She's always been self-conscious about her inner workings, but it was worse with her chest.
>She would later tell you that she always feels indecent when her chest panel is open, and having you rooting around inside only exacerbated the feeling.
>What she neglected to tell you, however, was that she enjoyed every second of having you inside her - though you figured that out on your own shortly after she left.
>After all, that was when you noticed the wet spot she left on your maintenance bench.

Here's an old prompt I found in a /moon/ thread way back, as well as the writefag who isn't in the pastebin.

It was never decided to make one, and the poll shows a lack of interest due to the relatively low response count. The thread alone is enough for now, as making a group now would sentence it to the same fate as the IRC.

Not really. The first game did have a rather clunky combat. Latter ones traded some depth and atmosphere for improved combat.

You can try playing soldier, it is a rather straightforward class, and the most durable. Just run in with shotgun and melee people down.

I'll post some of my green from Changing Lanes to give this thread a boost. But, I'll be an asshole and post only one half now, and the other after work.

>"Your Highness, a visitor seeks an audience with you."
>You sit upright in your throne, the boredom and lack of activity in the last hour nearly putting you to sleep.
"Thank you. Send them in."
>The guards on either side of the massive double doors pull them open, and a familiar face struts through.
"Anonymous? Guards, do you honestly not recognize who-"
>"It's fine Luna, I told them to be professional about it. I figured you were bored and needed some excitement."
>You stretch as Anonymous makes his way to you, your back popping loud enough to create an echo.
>Sliding over in your throne, Anon has just enough room to sit next to you, which he does.
"So what have you been up to this fine day?"
>He reaches up and scratches your ear, as you can't help but lean into his hand.
>"Not much really. Buried in the library."
"Again? Twilight Sparkle has really rubbed off on you. I suppose the next step is besting her longest reading binge."
>"I can't imagine how long that would be, as I've seen her spend a whole afternoon with her head buried in a book, not moving an inch. It's a little eerie, honestly."
>You chuckle, resting your weight against him as he leans back in the throne.
"From what I recall my sister telling me, Twilight once spent three days straight in the library."
>"As in, afternoons?"
"No, I mean seventy-two hours straight."
>"Wow."
"Yes. I don't know how she does it. Just sitting here for four hours has me feeling stiff."
>Anonymous turns his body, looking at the throne itself.
>"Obviously it's time to upgrade to a lazy boy recliner like mine."
>You can't help but giggle at the mental picture.
"I don't believe that could be even remotely considered professional and proper, Anon. However, it would be a welcome change."
>>
>>27643056

>The quiet conversation is interrupted by the echoing bong of the large clock outside the throne room.
>You rise to your hooves, Anon doing likewise.
"With as uneventful as this day has been, I am surprised it is already five o'clock."
>"I could tell it was almost five. I'm starving."
>The two of you make your way out of the throne room and to the dining room, making small talk along the way.
>Celestia is already seated at the table to greet you when both of you arrive.
>"Hello you two. I assume you're as hungry as I am?"
"I don't think that's possible sister."
>Tia sticks her tongue out at you, making you giggle.
>"Wow, we just arrived and already shots fired. Impressive, Luna."
>You and Anon take seats next to Celestia.
"It comes natural when you've lived with her as long as I."
>"Am I too late for dinner?"
>Twilight Sparkle trots into the room from where you just entered.
"Twilight, what a pleasant surprise. It is as if you heard Anon and I talking about you."
>She stops, perplexed.
>"Me? What did I do?"
>"A three day reading marathon, apparently."
>Twilight takes a seat across from you, seeming to go through her mind for the memory.
>Meanwhile, your sister is unable to contain a minor fit of laughter.
>"Oh, I had forgotten about that. The day I introduced her to the Daring Do series of books, she couldn't help to read them all in one go."
>Twilight perks up.
>"I remember that now! The first book was just so good, there was no way I was going to wait to read the next one!"
>"And the one after that, and so on. From what I recall, those three days were followed by a whole day of sleep."
>Twilight blushes.
>"You complain about me getting too much sleep, and you slept for a whole day? I don't want to hear any more criticisms about my sleeping habits, Twily."
>"Oh hush, Anon. It was only once. You oversleep every day."
>Anon turns to you, as if requesting backup.
"It's true, I practically have to drag you out of bed every morning."
>>
>>27643075

>He crosses his arms, acting frustrated.
>"I'll remember that next time you want me to defend you."
>Everypony in the room gets a good chuckle, as a few servants enter the room hovering dishes in front of them.
>While Celestia gets a vegetable medley stir-fry and you get a fresh vineyard salad, Anon has gone wild with the meat, his plate dominated by a thick steak, amidst a sea of garlic shrimp.
>It took quite a bit of reassurance that neither you or your sister were bothered by his normal diet before he finally gave in and began eating what he really craved.
>Not a minute passes before another servant arrives, placing a nice garden salad in front of Twilight.
>Nopony hesitates to dig in, the dining room devoid of conversation for some time.
"So Twilight, what does bring you to Canterlot this time of the day?"
>"Anon sent a letter to me a few days ago. He said the two of you have been having some difficulty talking to the changeling you've apparently caught?"
>You glance to your left at Anonymous, who grins sheepishly.
>Despite his protests, you have been hesitant to allow him to accompany you to the dungeon.
>Not necessarily because of danger, but because you fear he may be unable to control his emotions.
"Did he now? I was not informed of this."
>"I thought I said something to you about it. My bad, Luna."
>You sigh, turning your attention back to the purple alicorn across the table.
"To tell the truth Twilight, it has not been going well at this time. In addition to a lack of information about Chrysalis's whereabouts and intentions, very little progress has been made in regards to identifying changelings masquerading as common ponies."
>"Well, I've been reading up on some law and psychology books the past couple days, maybe I can help?"
"I suppose I am running out of ideas, perhaps a fresh mind can come up with something."
>"And maybe you can give me a crack at it too, Luna. Like you promised?"
"Anonymous, please. It is for your own safety."
>>
>>27643088

>He leans back in his chair, studying you.
>"Luna, what's the real reason you won't let me down there?"
>You scoff.
"That is the real reason, Anon."
>The room is silent, as you return to picking at your plate.
>"Either I'm getting better at reading you, or you're turning into a really bad liar, Luna."
>Anonymous folds his arms, as all eyes dart between him and you.
>Seeing no way out of his condemning gaze, you relent.
"Anon, do you recall what we discussed about your.... magic predicament?"
>"You mean if I use magic, I risk frying myself?"
"Yes. I don't intend to be rude, but I fear you may not be capable of keeping your emotions in check, and thus, your magic contained within."
>Twilight interrupts before Anonymous can respond.
>"Wait, hold on. Using magic can kill him? When did you find this out?!"
>Celestia breaks her silence, giving you a chance to sip at your water.
>"We aren't one hundred percent sure, Twilight. For right now, it's a theory based on what happened in your home during and directly following the exchange between Anon and Chrysalis."
>"And with all due respect, Lulu, I'm willing to take the risk."
>Nearly choking, you set down your water.
"Anonym-"
>Animated, he shakes his head, interrupting you.
>"Luna, Chrysalis wants me. And she's not going to care who gets in her way. If it takes harming or killing someone, she nor her minions are going to hesitate. If that happens, that blood is on me. And I'm not going to live with that guilt my whole life."
>He unfolds his arms.
>"We haven't come up with anything useful in the months since the incident. I know I'm impatient at times, but the more we sit around with our thumbs... or hooves or whatever, up our asses, the more likely it is I'm going to wind up dead anyways."
>You can't help but gasp at Anon's harsh tone.
"Don't say that! You act as if there is no hope!"
>He seems to ease off a bit.
>>
>>27643095

>"I'm sorry, but I've been quiet about how I feel about this for a while now. But no more, I'm getting more involved in ending this standoff with these creatures whether you like it or not, Luna."
>His words seem to echo as if a gavel had been struck.
>"So, tomorrow morning, maybe?"
>Twilight's eyes nervously scan the room, as she flashes an uneasy grin.

>As a dramatic score builds up from the television, Anonymous jolts upright from your desk he was slouched upon.
"Fall asleep?"
>He turns to you, holding something in his hands.
>"No, testing this thing. Definitely still works."
>He displays it to you, the object looking like a collar, but with a curious small box attached to it.
"Is it a collar, a necklace... what is that?"
>He points at you.
>"Collar. Shock collar, to be more precise. In my world, we used these to train dogs. When the dog wearing it does something wrong, like stray away from the property, this box will emit a small shock that startles the dog. I had a feeling I pack ratted it somewhere in my house from when I had a dog, Twilight found it for me."
>You cringe as he describes how it works.
"And your reason for testing that is...?"
>"It's not going to hurt our little changeling friend, but it will shock the hell out of him. Or her, or it, whatever."
>Motioning for him to join you on your bed, he sets the collar down on your desk and flops beside you.
>His excitement for tomorrow morning is making you increasingly uneasy.
"Anon, you aren't looking forward to this for the wrong reasons, are you?"
>His eyes dart across the room, as if looking for the answer.
>"I don't follow. Wrongs reasons as in, what?"
"Revenge? Sadism?"
>He seems genuinely hurt by your inquisition as he puts an arm around your neck.
>"Lulu, I know you're worried about how I'm going to react during our little interrogation tomorrow, but I swear to you, this is purely to get what we need out of the prisoner, nothing more."
>He stops for a moment, before pressing on.
>>
>>27643109

>"I suppose I didn't help matters regarding your apprehension with my little speech during dinner, did I?"
>Anon his the proverbial nail on the head with that question.
"No, you were a little... charged up."
>"Well, it's just been festering in the back of my mind for a while now. I didn't mean for it to be that harsh. But you and Celly - hell, everyone - has done so much for me, caught me so many times when I tripped. I got us into this mess by being impatient and rushing into danger, I want to at least play a part in getting out of this shit."
>You poke him playfully in the ribs with a hoof.
"You seem to forget you've caught me a few times when I fell. I'd say we're already even."
>"In that case, I want to get ahead of you."
"You're just stubborn, is all."
>He wraps his other arm around you, hugging you tight.
>"I learned it from you."
>You giggle, sharing a kiss with him, before your attention turns to the television.
"So, what are we watching anyways?"
>"Eh, various crime dramas. Figure I may as well get into the spirit of things, maybe I can pick up a thing or two from the questioning scenes."
"Twilight, I can see her getting some useful insight after a reading marathon on psychology. This might be a stretch, Anon."
>"Oh ye of little faith. You'll take that back when we find out where Chrysalis is tomorrow."
"If you managed to do that, I'd have no choice but to knight you."
>"Alright, I won't do that, then."
>You turn out the light beside you, snuggling up to Anon as the next episode rolls on the TV.

>A loud clang echoes through the damp dungeon as Anonymous raps on the cell bars.
>"Wake up, you slimy sack of shit!"
>Startled awake, the changeling prisoner jumps to its hooves, head darting around before focusing on your group.
>This is one of the few mornings Anon has woken you up, instead of what is normally the other way around.
>You've relented, allowing Anon to head this interrogation session, which he was all too eager to accept.
>>
>>27643118

>Meanwhile, Twilight is confident in her research binge on psychology and methods of spotting 'tells,' as she called them.
>Hopefully, any information you can get, she can confirm is the truth.
>"What, cat got your tongue?"
>You lean over to Anon.
"It seems as though changelings in their normal form are unable to speak in our tongues. I have always had our prisoner shift into me to get it to talk."
>Apparently it heard you, as the changeling's form begins to warp, before once again your duplicate is behind bars.
>"Well, not impossible, but rather difficult. I see the princess brought her toy with her today."
>You scowl, seeming only to give it more joy as it continues.
>"Oh, and the purple runt is here. This is great, I was beginning to tire of seeing only this stick in the mud all the time."
>"I suppose it's your lucky day then. Not only do you get new visitors, you get to see them out from behind bars."
>As Anonymous taunts the creature, you use your magic to bind both its front hooves together with rope, as well as its hind legs.
>You nod to Anon when you are satisfied, sliding open the wrought iron door.
>Carefully, Anon pulls out the collar he was fiddling with last night, fastening it around the changeling's neck.
>"And what exactly is this supposed to be?"
>"We're going to play a fun little game. I'm going to ask some questions, and you're going to answer them. Depending on whether we like the answer, we will either move on, or that little collar is going to give you a nice jolt. Every wrong answer kicks up the jolt a bit, every right answer knocks it down a notch."
>The creature smirks, as Anon pulls out a small remote.
>"You're going to have to do better than that if you're going to psyche me out."
>He presses a button, causing your twin to jump.
>"Still think I'm joking? That was just the lightest setting. All set to play?"
>The smirk on its face is gone, replaced by the slightest hint of worry.
>>
>>27643124

>"Let's start out slow here. I want to know, how high up on the chain of command are you in the grand scheme of things?"
>A chuckle is the initial response received.
>"I've already told your pretty princess friend there, I am just one of my mother's common drones. Nothing special, which is why I'm still here with you."
>While Twilight shakes her head, signaling Anon it is lying, he presses on.
>"I don't believe that for an instant. you see, if I was a queen trapped in an enemy's dungeon, I'd want only my best soldier behind enemy lines to save me. I want the cream of the crop, someone with experience. I'll give you a free retry, since we're just starting here."
>It shrugs its shoulders.
>"I don't know what you want me to tell you, then."
>"Level one it is."
>A few presses of the remote, and the changeling grits its teeth, sitting straight upright as it writhes in pain.
>You can't help but feel a pang of sympathy, trying to imagine what that felt like.
>The creature takes a deep breath as Anon relents.
>"I'm... one of Mother's.... first."
>All eyes turn to Twilight, who nods solemnly.
>She seems taken aback by the display as well.
>"Okay, we're getting somewhere. You're one of Chrysalis's first born, I take it?"
>"Yes."
>Anonymous paces the room, while you sit down to the left of the seated prisoner.
>"I'd say that makes you pretty important. Important enough to not leave behind, at least not forever. So how many changelings have we got in the castle waiting to rescue you?"
>"I don't know. Maybe none, maybe a hundred."
"Lies, you know if there is other changelings in our midst. You said so yourself, you have telepathy."
>Anonymous stops his pacing, his interest piqued.
>"Telepathy? When did you find this out?"
>Before you can reply, your duplicate interrupts.
>"The gift only shared between Mother and child. We do not share the gift amongst ourselves."
>"It's telling the truth, Anon."
>Anon points to Twilight.
>>
>>27643136

>"Be glad I brought this purple runt with me, I was getting ready for level two of this thing."
>"Hey!"
>"No offense, Twily. Just using its own words."
>Pressing on, Anon once again begins pacing the cell, the creature beginning to look more and more shaken.
>While you are impressed the method seems to be getting results, you still find the charade rather sickening to watch.
[Anon, I think you are enjoying this too much.]
>His eyes focus on you.
>[Relax, Moonbutt. It's all part of rattling this thing's composure, nothing more.]
>For now, you relent, allowing him to continue.
>"Why don't we move on to the main event here, what does Chrysalis want with me. From what I understand, you've told Luna here I am not wanted dead, but alive. Why is that?"
>"Mother's plans are only revealed to us when we play a part in them. Otherwise, you know as much as we do."
>Once again, Twilight shakes her head no, and Anon presses the remote.
>An unsettling hiss erupts from the prisoner as a charge of energy courses through its body.
>"Nope, we don't like that answer. Care to try that one again, or do you want level two?"
>"I'm telling you the truth! That purple one is just a sadistic little wench!"
>"Level two!"
>Your duplicate shrieks in agony, thrashing about as it falls to the floor.
>The cries seem to echo endlessly, long after the the creature quiets down.
>"That looked like it hurt a bit more. I'll give you a sec to catch your breath."
>It feels like an eternity before the thing is able to speak.
>"Mother has found very few foes that can stand up to her. Mother was under the impression you did not possess magic, but her metting with you proved that wrong."
>Your twin rises to its hooves, still a bit wobbly.
>"Mother desires your power for herself."
>An uneasy silence settles upon the cell.
>You don't understand how Chrysalis thinks she can harness that power for herself.
>Nor do you want to know, for that matter.
>>
>>27643146

>"See? This can be very easy and painless if you just answer correctly the first time."
>"You will not be laughing after Mother has her way with you."
>anon rolls his eyes, as the fake Luna scowls.
>"I think you're getting ahead of yourself here. But while we're on that subject, where is mommy dearest?"
>The question incites a bout of laughter from the weary prisoner.
>"You really think I will tell you where the hive is located? You think I would betray my own kind?"
>"Okay, we'll start on level two this time."
>You cringe and turn away as the creature screams again.
[Anonymous, maybe we need to take a break.]
>[We're on a roll. We need to press on, Lulu.]
>"Now, try again. I can do this all day, and I still have three more levels on this baby to play with."
>"Go... to... Tartarus.."
>"Cool. Level three!"
>The howls only get louder as the energy increases, the changeling flailing about.
>You spot something that makes your blood run cold.
"Anon, stop!"
>He looks over at you confused, letting go of the button on the remote.
>With a surge of adrenaline, the creature growls, noticing the loosened bindings on its forehooves.
>You try to jump in front of it, but the changeling is quicker, leaping at Anonymous and landing a forehoof across his head, knocking him to the floor.
"Twilight, help me!"
>Before it can take another lunge at Anon, you and Twilight manage to hold the thing back, as you use a bast of magic to subdue the raging beast.
>It falls to the floor, knocked unconscious.
"Dammit, Anon! When I say we need to take a break, we take a break from now on, do you understand?"
>You turn around to him, where he still remains on the floor.
"Anon, are you alright?"
>Your heart rate begins to quicken as you gingerly roll him over.
>An ugly bruise begins to form on the left side of his head, as he lays unconscious.
"Anon, we need to get going!"
>Carefully pulling an eyelid up with your magic, his pupil nearly takes up his whole eye.
"TIA!!"
>>
>>27643152

>The doctors surround Anonymous in a flurry of activity as You and Celestia arrive at the hospital in a flash.
>Numerous tubes and devices are connected up to him, as you try to understand what is going on.
>"Sister, what happened?"
"I don't know! Somehow the thing's bindings got loose, and it just- "
>"I don't have anything over here!"
>The pace of a few doctors quickens, as one attaches something that looks like a bag over Anon's face, pumping it rhythmically.
>What the hay are they doing?
"Sister, I must admit, I didn't pay attention in health or anatomy in school, what - "
>"Still nothing!"
>None of this makes sense!
>He took a blow to the head, clearly it's a concussion.
>A few doctors walk away, as the feverish movement in the room slows down.
"Where are you going?! As your princess, I demand that you return at once!"
>"Luna-"
"We both demand your undivided care upon Anonymous!"
>"Luna-"
"Hush sister!"
>Everypony seems to ignore you as they slowly shuffle past, leaving a ragtag group in the room.
>You can't keep your composure any longer as you raise your voice ever louder.
"Why aren't any of you doing anything?!"
>The head doctor looks over at you, his gaze one of empathy and fatigue.
>"I'm sorry."
>You suddenly feel extremely ill as your knees become weak.
"No. Nonono. NonoNONO! NO! NO!"
>You feel something catch you as you lose all control.
>"Time of death..."

That's all for now, I gotta head off to work.
>>
>Be Anonymous, in the day court.
>Once again Celestia is giving the same run around she's always given you.
>"For the last time Anon, I know you're keen to know more about our world but this is simply too dangerous."
>She wasn't lying, a voyage on this scale had never been attempted in Equestria's history.
>More specifically, circumnavigation.
>With all the beasts in Equestria itself, who's to say what lurks beyond on the seas beyond it's borders?
>Conceding defeat, you look back up to the sun princess. Hiding your annoyance the best you could.
"Thank you for your time Princess. That was all I had for you."
>The amount of times you'd said that line...
>Celestia meanwhile was wearing that motherly smile of hers, the kind you see with that mother knows best attitude of hers.
>Calmly, you begin to turn and exit the throne room with your guard escort in tow.
>Just you as you turn, you see the facade Celestia wears waver just slightly, before raising up a parchment she'd set aside.
>Guess it's back to Ponyville...
>>
>>27643207
>Well this is just great...
>Turns out that you missed the last train heading back to Ponyville.
>Christ, how long was you in there?
>Luckily you weren't completely in hot water considering you'd brought some bits with you.
>Damn ponies using coins, they're heavy as fuck.
>Most of Canterlot was built for the richer ponies and nobles, but there was one place you knew about which was in your price range.
>That was under the city, though it sits on a perch, the shelf holding the city in place was full of the more of the common folk's residences, descendants of the miners who worked the interior of the mountain.
>Seems that knowledge from those books Twilight let you borrow paid off.
>By the time you arrive, the sun's hanging low in the sky and most of the city in general has quieted down.
>One up for the hairless ape I suppose... Considering ponies who've never seen the hairless ape, are usually quite apprehensive about interacting with you.
>After scaring the hell out of the Innkeeper you open the door to your room for the night.
>Despite the small pony furniture it was a nice room, with a dresser, a desk and bed.
>You've had worse.
>Gazing out of the small window it had quite the impressive view of the sunset as it dipped under the horizon giving way to the night.
>The lantern on the desk conveniently lights up, basking the room in a eerie orange glow.
>Magic, duh.
>Setting down the duffel bag you were lugging around you pull out one of the maps looking over it.
>Planning the damn voyage was a challenge in of itself. Magic controlled everything in Equestria and everything beyond it was unknown.
>Groaning you plant your head on the desk and stare out the window into the night sky.
>>
>>27643227

>Then it clicks.
>Darting up you look out the window again and back to the charts and map strewn across the desk.
>You should've thought of this sooner.
>Folding the charts back into the bag you proceed to make your way back up to the castle with newfound vigour.
>As it looms into view, you can't help but notice the way the pale blue light compliments the castle's already immaculate appearance.
>You'd seen Luna all but once and that was when you first arrived here.
>The way she looked at you was a look of judgement, not at all like her sister.
>You're already at the large door of the castle. The main forum was open to the public though as you slowly heave open the door, it's completely empty.
>Save for the few batpony guards who instantly dart in your direction blocking the path.
>"Halt! State your business, beast."
>Well fuck you too. Play it cool anon, you haven't dropped your spaghetti just yet.
"I... was hoping to have a audience with her majesty, Princess Luna."
>Smooth Anon, that'll show them.
>...
>They're eyes narrow. You're sweating already. Untill finally they let up and step back allowing you inside.
>"Remain here. We shall inform the princess of your presence."
>You barely blink and one's returned to their stoic post by the door while the other continues to walk towards the throne room.
>How the fuck did that work? You think before you take a few glances around the room.
>The forum was illuminated barely by a few torches. Textbook spooky castle vibe if you ever saw one.
>Waiting is good, gives you a chance to breather and think things through...
>>
>>27643238
>The clearing of a throat diverts your attention to the guard that had returned. "Follow." he says sternly before turning and leading you inside the throne room.
>The long red carpet was visible from the various stained glass artwork which lined the entire room.
>Sitting on the now shadowy throne was the Princess. You could swear those eyes of hers glowed in the dark as she stared at you.
>Time to keep your poker face if you had one. She's staring into your very soul.
>After a nerve-racking walk you come within reasonable talking distance. Instantly you drop down on one knee, more out of fear if anything else.
>"Rise, Anonymous. State your business with us." She speaks with a stoic voice.
>As you rise to your feet you find yourself having second thoughts.
"Your majesty, I was... wanting to request if you may perhaps, help me with a small ambition of mine."
>She's not moving. Fuck.
"What I mean to say is, your sister thinks that planning a voyage around the world is too outlandish but I thi-"
>Luna cuts you off "That it is human. I do not believe you fully grasp the dangers of our world..."
>Well... Fuck.
>"But we shall humour you, what would Equestria reap from this?"
>A curious thought enters your head.
"It's not what Equestria would benefit from it but... well... you, your highness."
>Luna raises a eyebrow. Not what she was expecting it seems.
"It's one thing to learn about history from books but experiencing the cultures of the world would gives you a massive insight to how the world has changed."
>Her eyes look away, you've got her now!
>Glancing back up she looks at you and speaks in a more, serene voice "Come with me Anonymous."
>The guards, at least what you can see all glance at Luna, but she shuts them down without a word.
"Uh, of course Princess... Lead the way?
>With that she steps of the throne, exhaling calmly and begins walking to a distant door in the corner of the throne room.
>What did you just get yourself into?

I've never written anything before, how's this for you /moon/?

Breddy gud. Just needs a little editing work here and there, but other than that you're fine.
Plus, it's always nice to see new writefags enter the mix.

Yeah, this is originally a /AiE/ story but he recently started to post them here, I think that he posted this exact one several /moon/s ago. You can check his paste for for the rest of it, it's 38 I think.

I don't believe I've posted that chapter here before, but I have in the AiE threads, yes.

Anyways, the other half.

https://youtu.be/nvWADo6KPzA
>The radio softly plays in the Superbird as you finish another tome, and set off into the next one, scribbling down some notes on an old piece of parchment.
>While hardly comfortable to sit in the car for any period of time, you don't care.
>For the first time in almost two days, you've managed to finally gain some semblance of control.
>Now you just feel tired.
>Numb.
>Empty.
>News has spread rapidly across Equestria, and the outpouring of condolences still continue.
>Despite this, you decided to hold a private ceremony for Anon's internment in the mausoleum, with only his closest friends.
>Twilight has taken it extremely hard as well.
>Now all that is left is work.
>"Sister?"
>Your eyes look up over the dashboard to see Celestia cautiously approach.
>She has hardly fared better in the days since..
>"Luna, are you okay?"
"I am... managing."
>Her face lined with fatigue, Tia still forces a weary smile.
>Despite the events, Celestia has tirelessy stood in the throne room, fufulling both her duties and yours.
>She insisted upon it.
>"I thought I would find you out here."
>You do your best to shuffle the books on the seat next to you away as your sister peers in.
"I just wanted to be somewhere.... close to Anon. I couldn't think of any closer place than his pride and joy."
>You try to sound calm, but the pain in your voice is all too obvious.
>"What are you doing out here?"
"Just... reading. Something to occupy my mind."
>As her magic reaches for one of the tomes, you have no choice but to face the inevitable as it floats out the window to her curious eyes.
>The book falls to the concrete floor.
>"Luna, I know you are taking this loss the hardest, and for good reason, but this... this is not the answer."
>You already find yourself becoming agitated.
"What is the answer, sister? What else can I do?"
>>
>>27646360

>"Dark magic? Necromancy? These certainly are not it!"
"What else is there, Tia?"
>You feel yourself being pulled out of the car, as the door opens.
>Her magic surrounding you, you sister hugs you tight enough to cause a bit of discomfort.
>"We all hurt right now, Lulu. You more than anypony, I'm sure. But you can't let yourself be consumed by your grief, we all need you. I need you."
>You aren't sure how long the two of you hold each other there, saying nothing.
>"Lulu, we will make it through this. It's just going to take some time to heal."
"I know."
>While you agree with her, the words feel hollow, meaningless.
>Slowly, Celestia gathers up your pile of worn manuscripts with her magic.
>"Until that time comes, I will be sure to seal away what we have in our collection."
>She manages another weary smile, before walking out of the garage.
>When she is out of sight, you pull your notes out from underneath your wing, smiling.
"Okay, Tia."

>You make your way to Twilight's home in as discreet of a manner as possible.
>Words of condolences mean so little at this point, you don't want to hear them.
>Especially now that you have something that should work, if your research was correct.
>Covered from horn to hooves with a cloak, you rap on her door and wait.
>"Come in."
>Without hesitation, you you make your way inside the library, slamming the door behind you.
>"Can... can I help you?"
>You drop the hood on your robe and turn to face the apprehensive mare.
"My apologies, Twilight. It is difficult to travel considering what has happened."
>"Princess Luna, I didn't expect you..... how are you doing?"
"I am... better. It is still difficult."
>Twilight looks down at the floor, shuffling a hoof.
>"I know. I still can't believe it myself."
>You already begin to grow impatient with the small talk.
>Clearing your throat, you pull out your notes from earlier.
>>
>>27646365

"Twilight, I know you are well-versed in many subjects, I was wondering if you could tell me where I may find some of these items."
>You hold up the parchment for her to read.
>Her lips move slightly as she reads off the various plants and items you have listed.
>You made sure to omit some of the things you need that seem..... out of place.
>"What.... what are all of these for? It looks like some sort of spell."
>Racking your brain, you try to come up with a believable excuse.
"It is, it's..... I'm not exactly sure what it is. You see, my sister and I have been going through some books regarding arcane magic, and this one, we couldn't quite translate."
>Her sorrowful face perks up a bit.
>"That sounds very interesting. Maybe I could help you."
"No! Er, no, sorry. This is all very advanced magic, Twilight Sparkle. However, I do appreciate your offer."
>The twinkle in her eyes diminishes somewhat, but she nods.
>"I understand. Unfortunately, I don't think you will be able to find some of those ingredients to complete the spell."
>Your heart sinks.
"What do you mean?"
>"Well, the meadowsweet plant does not exist any longer, as far as I know. And Tartarus root? If such a thing ever existed, I've never heard of it. And I've read all the books and notes my friend Zecora has to offer."
>You bite your lip to keep from screaming, taking a moment to reel yourself in from the edge of self-control.
"I see. A shame, but understandable. Thank you, Twilight Sparkle."
>Twilight frowns, looking concerned.
>"Are you sure you're alright, Luna? You can talk to me."
>Her eyes seem to cut into you, as if she can see something else underneath you are hiding.
>Fighting back tears of defeat, you turn away, opening the front door..
"I am fine, Twilight. I must head back to Canterlot."
>If she does sense something amiss, she lets it go.
>"It was good to see you, Luna. If you need something, just let me know."
>>
>>27646369

>You close the door behind you, without a word.
>With all of your might, you throw yourself into the air, your anger and sorrow driving the rapid beat of your wings as you head home.

>As you reach the bottom of the staircase, your fatigue and disappointment only makes your pent up anger build.
>It seems there is no spell in the world to bring your Anon back.
>You would cry, but with the constant grieving of the past few days, you have nothing left.
>All that's left is anger.
>Finding the cell, you stop in front of it.
>Apparently hearing your footsteps, the changeling sits upright, already staring back at you, before shifting.
>"I was wondering when you were going to come back down here for me. Why the long wait?"
>You just glare at the creature, now in the form of you.
>"Did I break your toy? I hope he comes back soon, that was fun."
"My toy?"
>Your doppelganger rolls its eyes and sighs.
>"Sorry, your highness. By toy, I refer to your precious little ape friend you keep with you in the castle. You know, it makes it hard to capture him when you have him under lock and key."
"He's dead."
>The words just drop out of your mouth.
>It laughs in response.
>"Right, right. He's dead, so we can stop looking for him. Try a bit harder than that, princess.
>You just stare, imagining your vision being enough to tear this beast into bits.
>Whether it is your silence or your glare, the changeling stops, mulling over what you have said.
>"You really are serious. Well, I can't say I'm upset. Mother might be, but I guess that's what he gets for torturing me."
>Your grit your teeth as something within snaps.
"That's 'what he gets?' Pardon me, but I believe you vile creatures began this whole mess with your haphazard plan to feast upon us. Anon was my friend, he was my whole world!"
>Pure hatred pours out from every fiber in your body as tears stream down your cheeks, blurring your vision.
>>
>>27646374

"I want you to send Chrysalis a message. She has ruined my world, now it's my turn to ruin hers."
>A nervous chuckle is the response from your prisoner.
>"Ruin her world? We already starve for food, banished away from society. There is nothing you can do to us. We have nothing to lose. Which just makes this news all the sweeter for me."
>You tremble as you feel yourself slipping into the abyss.
>And you don't care.
"Oh, but you do have something to lose. You have your entire species to lose."
>Confusion spreads across your twin's face.
>"Uh, run that by me again?"
"I will hunt every one of your kind down, across every corner of this land. And I promise you, I will make every one of you suffer."
>You feel yourself being consumed by your rage.
>Your hatred.
>Your sorrow.
>Nothing matters anymore.
>You feel your teeth rearrange themselves, as the room slowly seems to grow smaller.
"No amount of pain and suffering will bring my Anonymous back. But I will make sure every one of you regrets ever living."
>The look of confusion changes to horror on the changeling's face.
>"Night.. mare... Mo-"
>You seize the creature by the throat with your magic, slowly constricting as you watch its eyes frantically search the room for salvation.
"You think you know suffering? You think you have been tortured?! I assure you, you have not experienced either in your pathetic life. But you will now."
>Unable to speak, the creature moves its lips, silently apologizing.
>You just tighten your grip on its windpipe further, relishing the feeling of its struggle for mercy.
"Sorry? You're sorry? It doesn't matter. You are only sorry to protect yourself. Nothing more."
>"Please, don't do this."
>You snap your head around in the direction of the voice.
>Celestia stands a few feet away, her expression a mixture of fear and anguish.
"Why? Why should I stop?! Why does this... this THING, deserve to live?!"
>Her voice wavers at your tone.
>"This isn't you. You are better than this."
>>
>>27646378

>The pressure cooker inside you bursts as you further tighten the vice.
"WHY DOES THIS THING DESERVE TO LIVE, OVER ANONYMOUS?"
>Choking down a sob, Celestia gives in, letting the tears stream down her face.
>"Because revenge isn't going to bring him back. Revenge will only deepen the void left behind."
>You turn back to the Luna in front of you.
>You look into its eyes.
>The light of life begins to dim, its struggle subsiding.
>"Don't do this Luna. Please."
>Celestia begs in between sniffles, her voice getting quieter.
>You can't bear to hear your sister's pleas.
"Please. Come back to me."
>You turn to her again, as her pink irises lock onto you.
>"I just want my little sis. My Luna."
>'My Luna.'
>Your memory flashes back to the night of your breakdown, Anon consoling you.
>'You're not a monster. You're my Luna, and my Luna's a sweetheart.'
>You're not a monster.
>Not now.
>The ache in your heart saps your strength.
>'My Luna's a sweetheart.'
>Clinging to those words, you relent.
>Your knees give out on you as you cry out in anguish, dropping the changeling.
>It takes a massive gulp of breath, as you let the dam inside you burst.
>The cold of the stone floor seems to suck the energy from you, taking your own breath away as you sob deeply.
>And yet, at the same time, you feel the warmth of your sister over top you, as she embraces your form.
>You raise your head, taking a moment for your damp eyes to adjust and focus.
>You jump a bit as you look up, finding not only your sister atop you, but Twilight Sparkle, as well.
>The purple alicorn is very nervous, and doesn't wait for you to say anything before unleashing.
>"I'm sorry Luna! After you left, all those items you had listed made sense, and I figured out what you were trying to do, and I just had to tell Celest-"
>You do your best to speak in a somewhat calm voice.
"It is fine, Twilight Sparkle. I am not upset, just.... I just feel empty. Lost."
>>
>>27646383

>"You aren't alone, Luna. I know it feels that way, I know you feel a hole inside, but you can't let that consume you."
>Your big sis raises her head beside, pulling you tightly next to her with a wing.
>"Do not let the anguish of loss cause you to lose yourself. Equestria can not bear to lose you again. I can not bear to lose you again."
>Twilight pipes up as she stands in front of you.
>"I know it hurts, Luna. I hurt too. But the pain does not signify an end. You've come so far from when we first met on Nightmare Night. You've helped countless ponies with their dreams, you make the night sky beautiful. Just as much as Anonymous has affected you, you affect all of us."
>You take a deep breath, as you feel a weight drop off you.
"Thank you. I have felt alone these past few days. I almost let my anger and sorrow consume me, as I have once before. But you, you both refuse to give up on me, you saved me from myself. And for that, I am eternally grateful."
>"Anon would be proud of you, Lulu. You are stronger than you think you are."

>Darkness falls over Equestria, and with it comes another night of insomnia.
>Carefully, you creep past both Tia and Twilight, not wanting to wake them.
>Both of them decided it would be best to stay close to you for the next few days, after the events of earlier today.
>You can't blame them, and you appreciate and cherish having two ponies so dedicated to you, that care so much.
>It makes it easier knowing you aren't alone, even if it has felt that way.
>That mistake has been made once before, and nearly repeated again.
>And yet, even in his absence, Anonymous rescued you from yourself.
>The empty halls of the castle are silent, as all but a skeleton crew of guards are resting like everypony else.
>Even so, you focus on your destination in your mind, the castle fading away, to replaced by the garden.
>Your sister is likely worried enough about you to have the guards notify her if you are seen up and about tonight.
>>
>>27646385

>The heavy door in front of you takes some exertion to move, as you slide inside the stone structure.
>Closing it behind you and turning around, you look over at the wall.
>Engraved with the names of past family members and close friends throughout the many years of you and your sister's existence, the freshest chiseling stands out the clearest in the dim light.
>Standing in front of the marked resting place, you try to arrange your thoughts.
"In my many years of existence, I have had the pleasure of meeting countless ponies and other beings. All across this land I have traveled, and there are many more acquaintances and friends I will make in the coming years, no doubt."
>You sit, feeling once again overwhelmed by emotion.
"And yet, only one has so drastically affected me so, has helped me find myself. Helped me move on from my past, and look to the future. To find every day of my existence something to enjoy, rather than a burden. To help me see that even in your absence, I am not alone. For that, I thank you."
>You exhale, letting go of everything you have pent up inside.
"I miss you, Anon."
>You touch a hoof to the internment stone.
>Involuntarily, you jerk it back, a searing hot pain cutting into you.
>The marker itself feels as if it is molten, as you gingerly drop your leg and stand in shock.
"What in Equestria?"
>Curiousity and fear mix with adrenaline as you use your magic and pry at the stone.
>As it relinquishes its spot, intense blue flames erupt from the void, causing you to duck and drop the marker.
>Falling to the ground, it shatters, as you feel the intense heat above you, nearly singeing your back.
>You find yourself pinned there, unable to move, not even to look up.
>Slowly, the heat dies down, allowing you to look up.
>The flames are gone, light wisps of smoke coming from the chamber above you.
>Apprehensive, you rise to your hooves slowly, minding your burned hoof.
>>
>>27646391

>As you peer inside the internment chamber, arms reach out for you, causing you to jump back.
>"Luna, this isn't funny! I've told you before I'm claustrophobic!"
"Wh-What?!"
>"Sister!"
>The steel door to the mausoleum opens, Celestia and Twilight rushing in.
>"Luna, what is-"
>"Someone get me the fuck out of here, I can't breathe!"
>Without another thought, you focus your magic on the outstretched arms, pulling.
>Anonymous falls out onto the floor, breathing rapidly and looking around incredulously.
>You stand dumbfounded, as your sister and Twilight stand stunned with you.
"Anon?"
>"Will someone tell me what the hell is going on?"

"So I was dead. As in... what?"
>"Clinically dead. No pulse, not breathing, deceased."
>Luna still hasn't let go of you since getting back into the castle.
>Continuing to run your hands through her mane, you try to make sense of the story the three princesses are telling you.
"Are you sure you checked correctly?"
>"Let me ask you, Anonymous, what do you remember?"
>Scratching your head, you try to think of anything from what is apparently the last two and a half days.
"I remember going down into the dungeon with Lulu and Twily, but I don't remember anything that happened down there. Next thing I know, Luna's staring back at me from some hole I'm crammed into."
>"Internment chamber, Anon."
>You stare at the purple alicorn.
"My bad. 'Internment chamber,' I mean. All I know is, that is one of the most terrifying experiences I have ever had."
>Luna sits up in your lap.
>"You try getting burned by a grave stone, then have a wall of flame rush out at you at breakneck speed and tell me which is more terrifying."
"Claustrophobia will win every time, Moonbutt."
>"You don't remember that, either?"
>Luna gazes into your eyes, curious.
"I told you, I just remember seeing your face pop up in front of me."
>Luna turns to her sister as she sits back down in your lap.
>>
>>27646394

>"What do you make of it, Tia? Surely you do not think I have dabbled in the dark arts, do you?"
>The white mare rubs a hoof to her chin, thinking hard.
>"The only thing I can think of that makes sense is the phoenix."
>Everyone in the room just stares, not following Celly's thought process.
"You want to run that by me in layman's terms?"
>"Anon, Luna, when the two of you swapped consciousness a few years ago, Nightmare Moon when back with you, correct?"
>Luna nods silently, as you do the same.
"Unfortunately, yes."
>"With her went not only that part of Luna, but also some of her magic. I don't think it is too much of a stretch to consider with some of that magic contained within you, our gift of the phoenix, of rebirth, is with you as well."
>Holy shit.
>"So, you think he is like us now, sister?"
>Celestia nods.
>"It is the only thing that makes sense to me, though the length of time between death and resurrection is rather odd. So too, the rather..... violent nature of the flames of rebirth."
>"I don't care, I just know I have my Anon back."
"So by the sounds of it, I can't get away from you, can I?"
>Luna looks up at you, her eyes still damp from earlier.
>"Just shut up and hold me."
>You oblige Moonbutt as you pull her in tight.

And that's a wrap. Now to see if I can't start working on this story again after a short break.

>You notice Luna had already made a bit of headway, so you resort to speed walking until you're trailing just behind.
>How she navigates the castle at night is beyond you, in every direction its a row of dim torches.
>Good thing Luna keeps occasionally looking over her shoulder to see if you're still there.
>You swear her eyes practically glow in the dark.
>Before you know it you've began climbing a large spiral staircase to... somewhere.
>Time to break the ice.
"Princess..." the uncertainty already dripping from your voice. "Where are we going?"
>She simply looks over her shoulder as she has been doing most of the trip and speaks.
>"A place where I retire after court, we think it will be... insightful for you."
>What did she mean by that?
>After what seems like forever you reach the top of the stairs, a modest double door marks the top of the staircase.
>Thank fuck, your legs were burning after that hike.
>A blue aura and the doors inch open revealing in the interior.
"Woah..."
>Is all you can manage as the doors give way to a giant observatory, the roof being made out of glass holds many patterns of constellations.
>Lining the walls were many tomes and the centerpiece, a enormous telescope aimed to the heavens.
>Luna's already wasted no time in sitting on one of the large chairs illuminated by a fireplace.
>You quickly scurry after and look at Luna who simply gives you a nod to sit yourself down.
>You oblige, no need to upset the Princess...
>>
>>27647016
>"Do show us what you have found, I am curious on how things have changed during my... absence."
>Laying the various maps and charts onto the table before you, Luna glances over them before lowering her head slightly, prompting her horn to glow.
>A small brown book is levitated and opened to reveal a map.
"Equus Terra?" You ask non-chalantly.
>"Indeed, it is as I feared. The ponies of Equestria have since turned inward, for you see Anonymous. There was a time Ponykind travelled all corners of this world."
>Looking at the map she was right, there was old but nonetheless trade routes marked to places you've never even heard of.
>"After my banishment... superstition was rife in Equestria and many turned their back on the sea, for it is after all, my domain."
>Her voice was melencholy. In a way she was a lot like you, in a world she didn't fully understand.
>"My sister retrieved only a fraction of what was once an entire library for explorers, far and wide to learn of the wonders of this world."
"So, where do I fit in all of this?" you ask, if she'd known about it wouldn't she have done something like this herself?
>A Smile creeps to her lips as she speaks "You are the first one Anonymous in over a millenia possessing that spirit. I believe you can help us restore my birthright."
>Holy shit. Rebuild an entire trade empire?
>Before you can reply she speaks up again.
>"Though I must admit, this act of circumnavigation you speak of has never been attempted even by the most daring of explorers of the time."
>Oh well, at least you may get to see cool places...
>"All the more reason to attempt it..."
>>
>>27647026
"Wait, what?" you think aloud.
>"Like I said Anonymous, ponykind has forgotten the ways of the sea, a voyage such as this will show all that the sea can be tamed."
>You can't help to think back to Celestia.
"But what about your sister? She thinks it's too dangerous."
>"I am not my sister Anonymous, she is concerned with the well being of her subjects to the point of being overbearing in my opinion. I refuse to stand in the way of ambition, I embrace it.
>Her words are inspring to say the least. Almost putting you at ease as she continues to speak.
>"But until then you will be staying within the castle so we may discuss this further."
>She's just letting you stay just like that?
"What if your sister says something?"
>"About what? My choices as a ruler?"
>She has a point and you were tired.
>She merely nods and turns her head to look at a guard which had mysteriously appeared behind you.
>That's some next level shit right there.
>"See Anonymous to one of the guest rooms. His needs are to be catered for as he requests."
>The guard nods and turns to you. Glancing back at Luna she gives a knowing nod as you leave.
>"Rest well Anonymous. I shall see to these charts of yours. untill then."
>With that you exit the large observatory and begin your descent down the stairs following the guard.
>Tomorrow's another day...

>Doubling back along the route you came, the guard merely comes to a set of double doors.
>He merely nods at you, and you approach the door and turn to thank the guard... who had now vanished.
>How do they do that?
>Too tired to think about it now.
>flopping onto the bed you're instantly lights out.
>Opening you're eyes you find yourself on your back staring up at the night sky.
>Though something is amiss, you don't remember the moon being that large.
>Nor do you remember going to sleep in the middle of a grassy field.
>Looking around, you find Luna laying on the ground with her forelegs crossed, with a smile on her face.
>"Truly, the act of seeing one awakening in their dream shall never cease to amuse us."
"I'm dreaming right now?"
>Luna shakes her head playfully. "Have we given you cause to distrust us thus far?"
>You shake your head speaking up again.
"So, why are you here then?"
>Kind of good to know why someone is poking around in your head.
>"I am not ignorant to the fact that you require rest Anonymous. I feel as though there is much you should know if you are going assist me."

>"Welcome to Baltimare Anonymous... or what it used to be..."
>The markets stretched the entire coast of of the bay, the city was bustling with ponies conducting commerce with goods from the various ships moored in the harbor.
"This is Baltimare? I read about it being a Equestrian port but I never imagined this." you said dumbfounded.
>"Aye for it is true Anonymous. Once I was gone, the mass hysteria from my defeat prompted the ponies to turn their backs on the sea. A cursed place from which no one would return."
>She emits a blue aura from her horn and one by one you see the buildings turn into ruins and the various ships fading away until Baltimare was left as nothing more as a backwater village.
>"As you can see, it seems to be the end of the story of Baltimare. This is why ponies have a fear of the unknown Anonymous, some scars never heal..." She says downtrodden.
>She really did have it hard, everything she had was completely destroyed by the ponies she sought affection.
>You can see how she blames herself for the situation she's in. Probably explains why she was so reserved when you first met.
"Why tell me all this? Have you tried bringing it back to well, how it used to be?"
>She glances towards you before giving a sigh, casting her magic to present a copy of herself.
>The ponies clamor into their houses with her presence, leaving her to turn and board the chariot she arrived in.
>"We have tried Anonymous... and failed many times. We had all but given up hope until you approached us in court this evening..."
>You reach out and gently place a hand on her shoulder, causing her to jump with surprise.
"It'll work this time Princess... I promise." you reassure.
>"Luna." She says. "You may call me Luna when we are alone." She says as she slowly shrugs off your hand.
>"Farewell Anonymous, we shall see you later this evening." She says as she walks through a white door out of your mind.

>Splayed out across the bed you roll over and attempt to stand.
>Rubbing the exhaustion out your eyes you actually take the time to take in the room you're in. It had a degree of modesty to it, with all the comforts of home.
>Your stomach growls. That's right you never ate anything ever since you got roped into this.
>Not that you regret it, but you're hungry as fuck.
>Luna did say she'd have your needs tended to so why not?
>Poking your head out the door you're met with one of Celestia's guards who turns to look at you.
>"I've been asked to escort you to the dining hall Anonymous, Princess Luna's orders.
>Gods be praised!
"Yeah, ok. Lead the way." you say, still half asleep.
>He wastes no time in setting off, forcing your sorry ass into gear or else you'll lose him.
"What time is it?" You ask curiously.
>"Around noon, sir."
>Noon? Fucking hell you were exhausted. Guess breakfast is out the window.
>Who cares, you're hungry.
>As you arrive at the doors to the dining room the guard turns and speaks up again.
>"Take a seat inside, one of the servants will see to you."
"Yeah, thanks a lot."
>He moves off with a swift trot, you were probably keeping him waiting. Oh well.
>Opening the doors you see a long dining table, two notable chairs no doubt for the respective Princesses.
>You take a seat at the end and look around the large hall. This is more of the castle you've ever seen before and it's quite the sight.
>Alas, your gawking is cut short as an Earth pony mare walks up to you.
>"Anonymous I presume? We've been informed of your... dietary needs? How may we help you?"
>How the fuck? You made sure to keep that under wraps since Twilight asked around when you first arrived. Surprisingly, Fluttershy was the one who helped you by offering you fish and eggs. Eh, why not.
"I'll have some eggs please, with toast?"
>"Will that be all?" She asks, sounding almost relieved.
"That'll be fine."
>She trots off out of one of the doors leaving you alone once more.

>Just as you rest back in the chair you hear a familiar voice behind you.
>"Anonymous?".
>Of course you had to bump into Celestia. Play it cool Anon.
"Good... afternoon your highness?" You say with uncertainty.
>She proceeds to take a seat in what you correctly assumed to be her usual seat, before she speaks once again.
>"Shouldn't you be back in Ponyville? I didn't expect to have anyone else dining with me." with a hint of playfulness.
>She knows.
"Well, I missed the train and kinda got the idea to see your sister about... well you know the drill. She seemed to like it because she invited me to stay in the castle."
>"I see..." She says, although it was hard to tell but merely remembering the number of times you've asked is showing its annoyance.
>Dodged a bullet there Anon, good job.
>"I don't suppose you would mind if I was to come with you? I presume she requested to see you this evening?"
>You can't exactly say no, Luna said she'd handle her sister.
>Still, it unnerves you.
"Sure, I don't see why not." You speak calmly.
>"Very good, after you've had you meal perhaps you would care to join me for the remainder of the day?"
>Beats sitting around for the afternoon.
"Of course, your Highness."
>She smiles before looking at the Earth pony who had returned with your and Celestia's meal.
>Surprisingly Celestia didn't say anything about your choice but then again, she already knew.
>You both eat, you meanwhile holding yourself back to avoid being rude.
>"The servants will take care of our things, come along now Anonymous." She says with that motherly tone.
>This day just keeps getting better huh?
>>
>>27650446
>Celestia walks ahead, she stands slightly taller than you, meaning you have to walk a little bit faster to keep up.
>She winds up leading you to her personal chambers, a door bearing the symbol of her cutie mark though significantly more lavish.
>"Please do come in." Her voice reassures you considering you feel wildly out of place.
>Straight away Celestia extends a wing to where Philomena perches herself, nuzzling the Sun Princess.
>You find it impossible to dislike her despite the number of times she's shut you down in the past.
>"Please take a seat by the fire Anonymous, I'll be but a moment."
>Philomena takes flight and Celestia folds her wing back and joins you in the chair opposite. Her golden magic grabs the teapot which you now notice was placed over the fire and pours two cups for you and herself.
>Bringing the cup up to her mouth she begins to speak.
>"I wish you hadn't said anything to my sister Anonymous." She says with disappointment.
"Why?" You ask, you've done nothing wrong.
>"The reason being Anonymous is that my sister still requires tutoring on the proper etiquette of the modern world. These... ambitions of yours, serve only to continue to let her cling to the past..."
>It's not so much as clinging to the past, more like realizing a childhood dream or something.
>"Everything I've done since her return is to protect her and now with you in the picture... I'm not sure if I'll be able to."
>>
>>27650670
>While it was true Luna was detached from the world she seemed pretty reasonable in your experience so far.
>"My point being, should you fail... She will be utterly devastated and... I don't think I could bring myself to stop her as I did a millennia ago." She sounds worried and even... scared?
>Guess it makes sense considering her sister was practically dead for a thousand years.
>"Though, I know it is too late to try and merely talk her out of it, so you leave me no choice..."
>Shit man, you've fucked up big time.
>"I must give all my support to this mission, Equestria's finest will be at your disposal.
>And here you thought you was in trouble.
>"But, should you fail... you will answer not only to my sister but to me." Her glare at you is eating into your very soul.
>"Is that clear, Anonymous?" She finishes.
"Y-yes, your highness!" You almost shout.
>She nods before leaning back into her seat, enjoying her tea. "You are free to leave Anonymous."
>You finish drinking the tea she poured out for you and make your exit as reserved as possible.
>Just as you approach the door she speaks again.
>"Oh, and Anonymous. Forget about me accompanying you to see my sister I just remembered I have other arrangements..."
>You knew better than that. The sun was hanging low in the sky already but at least Luna would be more welcoming.
>The night can't come soon enough...

Also, I decided to read the story now since I have the time and so far, it looks really promising. The pacing seems a bit fast, but I'm fine with that since what's written so far is to mostly establish goals and whatnot. Premise also reminded me a lot of another Luna green, Moonlight on the Water, but the writer for that seems to have abandoned ship on that.

>Be Celestia, in your private chambers.
>You sit quietly enjoying your tea, as the sun slowly shifts lower into the sky.
>Though you do feel it was wrong in saying what you said to Anonymous, it was the truth.
>Your sister had seen the height of her glory from those sailing the seas but alas, they were a mere fraction of what you ruled together.
>It wasn't like you didn't want to help your sister, it was just merely the logistics of gearing Equestria to reach out to the world.
>And now Anonymous wants your sister to travel the entire globe? Such a thing was never heard of during the era naval travel was at its peak, let alone now.
>Though it has to be said, Anonymous is awfully persistent. He mentioned that Equestria was at similar technological level to when humans first circled Earth.
>Impressive considering his world is without magic...
>If anyone was able to see this through it would be him.
>All that remains is to help him get the best possible chances of success. After all, how can you be the Princess if you didn't help /someone/ in need?
>You levitate a parchment over to yourself with a Quill and begin writing a letter.

>After all you did kinda force her han- hoof, Into helping you.
>Funny, all you wanted was her to give you a chance and now she has.
>Did it really have to be so strong though? Surely Luna, should the voyage fail understand.
>Even still, it's not worth the risk.
>It isn't about yourself anymore or Luna, but the entire nation of Equestria would be thrown into disarray should you fail.
>Or worse...

>Night had already fallen some time ago, so you reckoned Luna would be waiting for you.
>Proceeding to knock on the door, you wait anxious for a reply.
>It never comes.
>Twisting the handle you slowly poke your head inside and you find yourself witness to quite the adorable scene.
>Luna looks to be fast asleep surrounded by various maps and books.
>Was she seriously awake all day?
>That can't be right, or else wouldn't it still be day?
>Cautiously you approach the desk where Luna is hunched over, sleeping soundly and take a closer look at what lays before you.
>You can't believe your eyes.
>Luna was working on what looks to be a map of the known world going beyond any you've seen.
>The Locations were written in a cursive which gave the map a unique flair and elegance.
>You had no idea was so articulated, she really wasn't given enough credit.
>Paying a glance to the Princess you grab one of the smaller books from the pile...
>Only for the pile to proceed to topple over onto the desk.
>Luna shoots up, frantically looking around for the source of the sound.
>"A-Anonymous?" She asks looking at you bewildered.
>Smooth move jackass...
"S-sorry!" You blurt out.
>She merely shakes her head before cocking a eyebrow and looking up at the glass roof.
>"I see our sister has taken care of our duties..."
>You feel compelled to ask.
"Were you awake all day Luna?" you ask, mildly concerned.
>She smiles as she looks away.
>"I... yes." she says embarrassed.
>She moves the pile off the desk bringing the map into view.
>"What do you think of our work Anonymous?" She asks confidently.

>looking at the way the map is drawn the attention to detail is staggering.
>All around the Equestrian continent information about currents, trade winds and everything you could've hoped.
>Though as you gradually move away the detail abruptly cuts off.
"It's beautiful Luna." almost speechless.
>She smiles and looks away, her cheeks taking on a faint hue of crimson.
>"It is most reassuring that you think so Anonymous. Thank you. Cartography is an art form as I'm sure you already know."
>She clears her throat, regaining her composure.
>"Yes, well. I trust you didn't have too much trouble from my sister?" she says, as she opens one of the books she set down earlier.
>Best to tell her the good news if anything.
"Well actually, Your sister said she's going to help us." trying your best to remain inconspicuous.
>Luna glances up from the book and looks at you like you've said the craziest thing in the universe.
>"We thought you said our sister thought it too dangerous?" Her tone one of curiosity.
>Oh boy...
"Well, yeah. But I bumped into her when she was having her lunch earlier today and since you want to help me she decided to go along with it." You're doing your best to not sound worried.
>Looks like she bought it as she turns back to her book.
>"It would seem we were wrong about our sister. Had I known it was that simple I would've asked long ago." She beams.
"Well if you did, you wouldn't have needed me." You say half-jokingly.
>She hums with contentment as she speaks up "I suppose that is true, though you have been a great help this far."
>At least she's loosened up around you.
>"Come Anonymous, we wish to show you something that we will need on our future travels."
>She walks off to the telescope in the center of the room. With yourself in tow.
>Wonder what she has in store for you now...

>"Gaze into the lens Anonymous. What do you see?"
>You oblige, putting your eye to the lens.
"All I see are stars..." blankly stating the obvious.
>What were you expecting?
>Luna, despite your ignorance continues. "That much is obvious Anonymous, I assume you are familiar with the legend of the Mare in The Moon?"
>Everyone knows about that, kinda hard not too because of Twilight.
>"The stars aiding in my escape was quite literal. With the last vestiges of my power I dismantled the constellations in the heavens to assure my freedom."
>Here you were thinking it was just plot convenience.
>"So you could imagine my distress when upon my return, I found all knowledge on them destroyed."
>Well that's a bit of a snag in your plans but more so Luna's.
>Celestial navigation was rather important not only to her but anyone wanting to find their way in the sea.
>With a voyage like you've planned, you couldn't afford to drift off course.
"What's stopping you from recreating them?"
>She is the Night Princess after all.
>"Believe me Anonymous, weaving new life into the heavens is my specialty but I cannot simply go and recreating ancient stars without peace of mind that they are accurate and true."
>Seems you've hit a roadblock.
"So what now? Is there anywhere which may still have them?"
>She looks out of the observatory's window, in the direction of Ponyville.
>"We may have an idea... Come along now Anonymous."
>>
>>27659632
>Once again, Luna's leading you around.
"Where are we going now Luna?" you ask, breaking the silence.
>"My sister had commissioned a great library in our former castle, to our knowledge it was the only place completely abandoned after our banishment."
"We're going to get their how? Exactly?"
>"We shall be taking my chariot. I do hope that is alright."
>So long as you don't look down you'll be fine.
>The mild clattering of armor breaks the silence as a male voice speaks up.
>"Your highness, you have a visitor.
>Luna cocks her head, before turning the guard. Who steps aside revealing Twilight.
>"Ah, Twilight Sparkle, I should've expected your involvement."
>"Princess Celestia asked me to help you however I can, so here I am!" easily excited as always.
>"Then feel free to accompany us Twilight." Luna says as she resumes walking down the corridor.
>You and Twilight follow suit and wind up walking side by side.
>"I was almost worried Anon. You should've told me you'd be staying in Canterlot a few days."
"Believe me Twilight, had I known I'd get this far, you'd be the first to know." You say with a hint of sarcasm.
>"Well, it's nice that you've finally got your chance Anon. How long have you been trying?"
"A while..." which was a massive understatement.
>Luna had stopped in front of you, gesturing you to board the already waiting chariot.
>Twilight ends up sitting between you and Luna as the chariot slowly ascends away from Canterlot.
>At least it'll be a relaxing trip.
>>
>>27659644
>Mid-flight Twilight is occasionally giving you that look when she wants to ask a question until she finally speaks up.
>"Anon, I was wondering... if you really want to travel the world why not use an airship instead? It'd be so much easier and everypony knows the Ocean is dangerous." her naivety gets you every time.
"Because Twilight, that isn't the point. It isn't a simple A to B voyage you know."
>Luna is glancing in your direction as Twilight continues to drill into you.
>"Do you even know how long it would take? There's no way you'll be able to make it in one trip!"
"It took humans around three years to first make it around the Earth Twilight, I'm in no rush. Though, you're right... Not everyone made it back."
>Twilight gives a smile of triumph. "See? Celestia told you this is too dangerous but you're going to do it anyway. Why?"
>You simply smile as you look at Twilight.
"Well, I think having a master of the sea with me will tip the odds in our favour. Besides, it's a learning experience for both of us."
>Twilight looks confused for a second.
>"Wait, Luna is going with you!?"
>Before you can reply Luna cuts in.
>"That I am Twilight, the ponies of Equestria have forgotten who I was and now it is finally time to remind them of their own destiny.
>"But what about Equestria? You can't just leave!" She exclaims.
>"My duties are not confined to the castle Twilight, wherever I am I shall see to it that the moon rises once more over the horizon. My sister is more than capable of managing Equestria on her own."
>Twilight looks down at the floor of the chariot, disheartened.
>"It's just- I'm worried for you both... What if something does happen?"
>Luna offers a warm smile.
>"The oceans of the world are mine, I merely wish to share the magic of discovery with the world..."
>Twilight Nods before sitting back in the Chariot.
>As the world pans below, you sit in silence gazing across the land.
>The winds of change are in the air...

No one knows, Anon. We can only hope to figure it out one of these days.
>>
>>27659653
>The ruins of the old castle reveal themselves through the veil of the Everfree Forest.
>Even in it's ruined state it still stands as a testament to ponykind's many triumphs over the land.
>The chariot touches down and the guards remain standing stoically the same way you saw them before you took off.
>Those bat ponies sure are something else.
>Discarding your internal monologue you follow Luna and Twilight who have already started making their way towards the ruins.
>"So what are we looking for here Princess?" Twilight asks, barely containing her excitement.
>"We are seeking the star charts from before my banishment. It is vital we obtain them if we are to attempt this voyage."
>Twlight gives you both the smug 'I know everything look'.
>"I know just where to look Princess!" she beams.
>"Then I trust we should have no trouble find what we're looking for." Luna says calmly.
>As you enter the decrepit doors of the castle you're met with the throne room.
>Much of the chamber's roof has collapsed, along with the wall behind the two thrones revealing the pale moon shining through.
>Luna gradually stops walking as she stares at her namesake.
>Noticing Luna was no longer beside you turn around to find her gaze look away at the ground.
>"We could have prevented all this..." she mutters quietly.
>You'd better choose your next words carefully...
>>
What would your reaction be if you saw her in your dreams tonight?
>>
>>27666053
>You walk over and kneel down to catch her gaze, to which she merely glances at you.
"Luna... You don't have to worry about that anymore, things aren't like that and you and I both know it."
>You tensely wait for a reply.
>She speaks up again, barely above a whisper.
>"But that is just it Anonymous, things /are/ different now. I destroyed all my work and for what? A mere fit of rage..."
"That's not what happened and you know that better than anyone. All you wanted was share what you had with the world."
>She stays silent, still looking at the long faded carpet.
>You reach over and lower your hand on her shoulder.
"You need to lose sight of the shore to find that new horizon..." You say with a smile.
>As you slowly moves your hand, Luna grabs you in a embrace.
>"We don't know if we can..." her voice shaky
>Reaching around to return the hug you say the one thing that comes to mind.
"I can't tell you where you need to go Luna but, I can help you find the way."
>She's lost but judging from her relaxing against you, she may have found herself again...
>>
>>27666063
>Be Luna.
>In all your time of your existence you've never quite felt like this.
>Anonymous is the only one you've met who seems to share your passion for the sea.
>You think back to his words.
>"You need to lose sight of the shore..."
>Despite the reassurances of others you never had truly forgiven yourself, perhaps you never will.
>But Anonymous is right. To move forward you need to let go of your past.
>Speaking of letting go...
>Twilight is caught in your vision, staring at your moment.
>Quickly setting yourself back on your hoofs, Anon looks worried until Twilight Speaks up.
>"I hope I didn't interrupt anything your highness." She says nervously.
"Not at all Twilight." You say plainly.
>"Well, I found the castle library. If you're coming."
>You nod and begin following the young Princess.
>Though this time, with a smile on your face.
>You are Luna! Master of the seas!
>The world will realize it's true destiny as you once again manifest yours.
>The new horizon awaits...

That's all for now people.

With my shitty drawing skills I've crafted a shitty map to help with some context with how this is going to go, hopefully it comes out legible..

Really enjoyed it so far. I've been checking every now and then to see if there's a new part of your story posted so I think I'm hooked. Can't help with criticism or advice because I know fuck all about writing and my knowledge about English language is poor.

>that map
honestly? this has SO MUCH potential I'm scared you're either gonna skip a lot to finish it in a reasonable time or go for the long haul only to loose interest after a few months and abandon it. I hope you can pull it off

>Be Anonymous.
>You had actually forgotten Twilight was with you.
>After that little exchange you're now walking through the ancient corridors.
>"We could not help but notice our tapestry above our throne was seemingly intact." Luna comments curiously.
>"Oh yeah, my friend Rarity thought she'd repair it, though she didn't have time to fix Celestia's." Twilight replies.
>"I see, we should send our gratitude to your friend." Luna replies as she returns to silence.
>You meanwhile were gawking at all the ancient artwork, those which were still intact at least.
>Amazing to think this place was up and abandoned like that.
>Though if it wasn't, you wouldn't stand a chance.
>Twilight turns and begins walking up one of the old staircases.
>"I could've swore it was around here somewhere..." Twilight says as she ascends.
>You take a step forward to follow, but are met with a foreleg blocking your path as Luna channels her magic, pulling on a nearby iron torch.
>Instantly the stairs flatten out, prompting Twilight to yelp and slide down the smooth surface, tumbling briefly before rolling onto her side.
>Luna, promptly erupts into laughter at Twilight's now annoyed expression. You swiftly follow suit.
>After calming down slightly Luna begins to speak.
>"Ha ha! Twilight Sparkle! Bested by one of my favorite contraptions!"
>She built them herself? Neat.
>At least she's much happier now.
>Twilight on the other hand...
>"That's not funny Princess! We're here to get those star charts remember?" She says with annoyance.
>That's Twilight alright.
>"We merely jest Twilight, what fun is there in adventure without the occasional hearty bout?"
>Twilight rolls her eyes before spreading her wings and beginning to ascend the staircase...
>"Oh, and Twilight? Luna says with a smirk.
>"What is it?" She asks idly.
>"The library is in this direction, but feel free to indulge yourself a second time."
>Twilight merely groans as she elects to glide down to catch up with the both of you.
>>
>>27666061
HOLY SHIT, A TALKING HORSE!
>>
>>27667498
>Now that the fun was had, Luna had lead you and Twilight into the ancient library.
>Now for the hard part.
"So where do we start looking?" Stating the obvious.
>"Well for one, not here." Luna replies.
>What.
>"What do you mean not here? That's why we came here in the first place!" Twilight clearly getting fed up.
>"Actually we said our sister had commissioned this library. We require my personal notes from the journal I shared with my sister.
>"You mean the one in there?" Twilight gestures to the formerly hidden door.
>Luna nods, heading inside and opening the journal with her magic, flicking open to what appears to be sketches of several constellations and in general, detailed artwork of the night sky.
"You drew all those yourself?"
>"Yes, it was... a favored past time for us a long time ago..." she comments as she pans through the pages.
>Until she stops on a very specific page.
>"There, that is what we were seeking." she says satisfied.
>Peering over you notice the title of the page.
"Huh, the North star. Back on Earth we called it Polaris." You say idly.
>"I see, from the rest of these images we should be able to rebuild what was lost so long ago."
"How do you find North exactly? Don't you need to know that before you get started?" it was true after all.
>"I have a simple solution for that Anonymous, do you know of Mount Everhoof?" Luna questions.
>Twilight chimes in.
>"Isn't that the northern most mountain in Equestira?" she asks.
>"Not Equestria's most northern, but the world itself. It's peak points directly north.
>Problem solved it seems.
"Well, it looks like we got what we came for."
>"Indeed, let's not waste any more time. Feel free to leave us Twilight, as we are returning to Canterlot."
>"Sure thing Luna, it was nice coming along."
>"It was quite entertaining having you with us." Luna slyly remarks.
>Twilight just deadpans, before vanishing in a flash of purple light.
>Mission accomplished, right?
>Almost...

>"Anonymous..." Luna says as you are about to leave.
"What is it Luna?"
>"We... would like to show you something, provided you still have time of course."
"Sure... I guess?" you say, mildly questioning.
>Luna merely heads back out the library and leads you through the ruins.
>heading through the castle you finally find your way onto a balcony, judging from it's location it was probably so they could give speeches to ponies below.
>It also had an impressive view of Canterlot in the distance.
"So what was it you wanted to show me? It's a nice view."
>Luna chuckles at your comment. "It is more than just a view I assure you, you seem to like our representations of the heavens so perhaps I could give you a demonstration?"
"What, drawing?" She didn't need to come up here to show you.
>Luna smiles, dismissing your comment by shaking her head.
>"If you consider the sky my canvas then yes I suppose it would be. The creation of a star Anonymous..."
>Whoa, that is pretty wicked.
>"Let's start with... Polaris." She took that pause to purposefully look at you over her shoulder.
>With that she soars into the sky, the gust of wind from her take off forcing you to wince as you look up into the stars.
>Finding Luna high above, you see the elegance in which she moves. Dancing with the stars in the sky, as a bright magic glows and envelops her form.
>You almost look away from the brightness, until the magic condenses it self into her horn and fires off into the sky past Canterlot.
>Things are eerily silent for a brief moment, as Luna remains still.
>A faint echo of what sounds like a explosion breaks the silence as the land is graced by the birth of a bright blue star that dwarfs all others, before gradually fading to a still distinct blue diamond in the heavens.
>Gracefully landing, Luna exhales as she turns to you, a warm smile on her face.
>You're still awestruck.
>"I see you have enjoyed yourself." She playfully comments.
>Only one thing comes to mind.
"Beautiful..."

One is clunky but really good story. Two really jacks up the combat in the best of ways while still keeping the story. 3 just sotr of falls apart. >Thanks Celestia...
>Clambering out of bed you rub the sleep out of your eyes...
>No rest for the weary it seems.
>Making your way out of your room you make a beeline to the dining hall.
>You really need to start eating more often.
>Entering the dining hall you're greeted by Celestia who is dining on a salad.
>For a ruler of such power, to say she's modest doesn't do her justice.
>Celestia looks at you as you enter and smiles, nodding in a gesture to sit down.
>"I have been waiting for you for quite some time Anonymous." She says, setting down her tableware.
"Really? What for?" You ask.
>"I wanted to introduce you to someone who will be able to help you on your journey."
>Anything to make your job easier...
>"Are you familiar with Daring Doo?" she asks.
>Is she serious...
"You mean those children's books about her diving into jungle ruins? Come on Celestia books aren't going to help me..." You deadpan.
>Celestia's gaze shifts off you.
>"I beg to differ, Anonymous." a scratchy voice coming from across the room.
>You turn and lo and behold, Daring Doo is walking towards you.
>"Daring Doo, in the flesh I might add..." she says slyly, extending a hoof.
>Meeting her hoof with you hand you shake it rather cautiously.
>"And no, I'm not just a character from a book, I just prefer not to have the publicity."
>Celestia speaks up again.
>"Daring Doo is one of, if not, /the/ most talented and learned explorer Equestria has to offer. Might I add she's visited places beyond Equestria, no doubt places you'll encounter on your journey."
>Well that's useful, you think to yourself.
>"So what is that you need me for anyhow?" Daring questions.
>You look at Celestia, who's resorted to drinking some tea.

"Well... it's not like we're completely dead in the water... Luna is coming with us too."
>You've fired all your ammo now.

>You didn't even need to turn around to know Celestia shut her down in the middle of her rant.
"You probably don't know this but Luna... kinda controls the entire sea." you reply.
>"Huh, alright I'll give you that one. So when do we start?" she says with that confident vigor.
>That was actually a really good question.
>"You'll be pleased to know I have... commissioned the aid of three of the finest remaining merchant ships Equestria has to offer."
>That's a surprise, you figured from Luna's interpretation all naval travel had been pretty much nullified.
>"I'm not as neglectful as my sister may make me out to be Anonymous." She says.
>But still, only three ships?
"Thank you your Highness." Sounded as genuine as possible.
>"Believe me Anonymous, I wish I could do more, but many of the ships Equestria has remaining are too ill equipped to survive such a voyage." her voice rather solemn.
>It's better than nothing.
>"I won't lie to you Anon, I have my sincere doubts the ships I have requisitioned for you are up to the task."
"We'll just have to make the best of it, your highness."
>She stands from her seat and looks over to Daring.
>"I have arranged for you to have you in one of the guest rooms Miss Doo. I trust you and Anonymous will need some time to get acquainted."
>With that, she struts out of the room.
>"So... mind filling me in on the whole story?" Daring asks without hesitation.
>Where to even begin...

Alright Anons sit tight, because we're finally coming up to the actual point of the story.

Also, I'd prefer to have a fresh thread for next /moon/day but what do I know? I'm out for tonight.

I actually saw her in my dream, like 2 months ago. I was trying to take a shit and she was watching with curiosity.

Somehow, I forget almost every single dream I had, but this one is an exception.
It's the only dream that I can renember down to the last detail, and this fact creeps me out.

I wish I was lying.
>>
>>27685462
Why is she swearing as an answer?
>>

>Walking with Daring, you decide to head to the observatory to show her the charts.
>In the meantime, you've been going over the plan so far.
"So yeah, like I said it's a world trip but we'll end up back in Equestria coming west instead of east."
>"Right... I suppose you know if it'll even work?" Daring asks.
"Honestly? I don't." You plainly respond.
>"Then why take the risk? I've had my fair share of close shaves."
>Why indeed...
"This is more than a simple case of being 'the world traveler', Luna needs this so she can catch up with the world. What better way than to do it using her element?"
>Daring falls silent for moment.
>"I guess... I didn't really think about it like that. I'm more used to relying on myself."
>A chuckle escapes your lips.
"Well looks like that'll have to change, we're here."
>Opening the doors, to your surprise Luna is in there.
>You expected her to be asleep, oh well.
>"Anonymous? What brings you here? And who is this?" Luna says quizzically
>You look to Daring, who merely gives you a shrug.
"This is Daring Doo, she's Equestria's most famous explorer, she can help for... well it's obvious. I wanted to show her the map."
>"Ah, I see. Then by all means, we also have good news!.
>Closing the door, you walk over before speaking up.
"Oh yeah, what like?"
>"My sister has acquired vessels for us to use... To my surprise."
>Looks like Celestia hit the nail on the head.
"Celestia already told me, she introduced me to Daring here. What are you doing here anyhow? Shouldn't you like, be asleep?"
>Luna merely glances at you.
>"I'm not sure if you are aware Anonymous but many establishments do not operate in the night."
>Alright, you walked right into that one.
"So what is the occasion?" You ask Luna, as Daring is already looking over the map by herself.
>"There is someone in Ponyville who I would like to join us, though it is up to him."
>The more the merrier.
>>
>>27690595
>Daring had sinec finished looking over the map and turns to you and Luna.
>"Alright, so we can easily make it beyond Griffonstone but I got one major question."
"Shoot." you reply.
>"How are we going to get supplies halfway across the world?"
>Yeah, that was the problem with a voyage of this scale.
>Though before you can admit defeat Luna speaks up.
>"I have already considered that Daring Doo, for this will be a diplomatic expedition of goodwill to the inhabitants of this world. Wherever we go it is my intent to restore good relations. Not to mention the myriad of ponies which we will no doubt encounter along the way."
>Luna really has this thing locked down, I guess royalty does have it's perks after all.
>"I hope you're right Princess, for our sake. Can I keep this?" She asks as she gestures to the map.
>"Maybe when all is done, I shall let you have one of our most finest works but until then we have business to attend to in Ponyville. Feel free to accompany us."
>With that Luna turns and heads for the door, no reason not to follow her.
>As you're walking to the chariot, it dawns on you that Luna never said who you were going to see.
"So who are we looking for in Ponyville again?" You ask.
>Luna gives that same playful smile she usually gives you.
>"I am not so easily fooled by your attempts of coercion Anonymous, you will have to wait and see."
>It was worth a shot.
>Entering Luna's chariot, Daring in tow it takes off in no time in the direction of Ponyville.
>The sun really brought out the technicolor aspect of the world. Such a myriad of bright colors kind of hurts your eyes once you set eyes on it all.
>It really makes you reflect on yourself and how out of place you really appear in this world, it was part of the reason you wanted to do this in the first place.
>Something to your name, in a new world.
>>
>>27690609
>The Chariot lands after rather quiet flight.
>You're not even two steps out of the chariot before a blur of rainbow hurtles out of the sky.
>"Daring Doo and a Princess. You really are moving up in the world huh Anon?"
"You could say that Dash. I'm kind of busy with Luna at the moment, we'll talk some other time though okay?
>"Fine... Just don't forget about your old pal Rainbow Dash!"
>Rainbow puffs her chest out proudly with that last statement.
>"Actually Dash, I'm going to be working on my newest book since I'm help Anon here, perhaps you'd like to hear the story so far?"
>Rainbow leaps into the air before abruptly stopping and hovering.
"YES! I mean uh, yeah sure, we can hang out at my place." Rainbow says, returning to her dismissive attitude.
>To say she was a fan her Daring's work was a understatement.
>Also, Daring is a really bro for bailing you out like that.
>As they both fly away you meet up with Luna who was waiting some distance away.
"So, will you tell me now?" You ask.
>"Not much longer Anon, this is someone you should see. He reminds me of myself in my youth."
"If you say so..."
>As you walk through the dirt roads of Ponyville you start to make your way to the outskirts.
"Are you sure you know where you're going?"
>She stops, gazing at something ahead.
>Ponyville Schoolhouse, with the children playing outside to boot.
>You was just about to question her intent but she's already walked up the fence looking through the maelstrom of children whizzing about.
>Untill a small Earth pony colt with brown splotch over his eye walks right up to the Princess.
>"Princess Luna! I didn't know you was going to visit!" he beams.
>"I wouldn't visit without good reason... young Pip. Could you please bring you caretaker, Cheerilee to us?"
>"Sure thing! I'll be right back."
>He was off in a hurry.
"Cheerilie? How's she going to help us?"
>Luna shakes her head, looking at you with a serene look.
>"The young Pip is who we are here to see Anonymous..."
>>
>>27690619
>You can't believe she's even suggesting this.
"Luna, you can't bring him with us!" you exclaim in a hushed whisper.
>"Why ever not Anonymous?" She replies.
>Her tone was so matter-of-factly.
"Because, think about all we're going to see and how long we'll be out there. That's no place for a child."
>Luna simply returns her gaze to the schoolhouse before responding.
>"I have trusted in you so far Anonymous, all I ask is that you return the favour..."
>Welp, she's set into her plan whether you like it or not.
>Looking up you see Pipsqueak hurtling towards the fence, with Cheerilee close behind.
>Instantly she looks baffled as she trails her gaze up from Pip.
>"P-Princess! I wasn't expecting a royal guest. I -" She nervously stutters.
>Luna raises a hoof, to quiet her down before speaking.
>"Would it be too much trouble excuse the young Pip for the remainder of the day? We must discuss something with him."
>"Oh uh, by all means Princess, whatever you need."
>She gives a single nod before looking down at Pipsqueak.
>"Come young Pip, we have important matters to discuss."
>He scurries under the fence and walks right beside Luna as she turns to leave.
>You can only hope she knows what she's doing...
>>
>>27690628
>"So where are we going Princess Luna? And why do you need me?" Pipsqueak asks.
>You've got no idea kid, literally.
>"As it is my duty to watch over the dreams of my subjects, yours particularly caught my interest."
>Oh yeah, that's not creepy at all.
>"W-what do you mean?" Pipsqueak asked nervously.
>"You have many dreams of being on the sea do you not? I was perhaps wondering... would you like that dream to become reality?"
>Pip's eyes went wide with his mouth agape.
>"Would I ever! That'd be awesome, we could fight pirates, hunt for treasure and, and Hey put me down!."
>Luna had levitated the poor colt and set him down in front of you and herself.
>"That is what I like about you young Pip, you have that tenacity that so many in Equestria have forgotten. Which is why I would like to cordially invite you to be a member to a around the world expedition. Those dreams of the sea you harbor are within your reach."
>Now she's just making this too sugarcoated for the poor kid.
"But, it's going to be dangerous. What we want to do has never been attempted... right Luna?"
>You put emphasis on the last part to coax her to continue, earning yourself a sideways glance.
>"But my associate Anonymous is quite right, even I have no idea what we may face beyond Equestria, I understand if-"
>"NO! I mean... yes I do wanna go! Please?"
>You tried, that's all that counts.
>"Of course my young friend, we plan to leave in perhaps a few days time. You may want to gather any belongings if you are adamant about coming with us."
>"I won't let you down Princess! I can't wait!"
>"Then let us not keep you, we shall send for a escort to retrieve you when we are ready."
>With that he gallops off into the distance, ecstatic.
>Well that's that, you got to admire the ponies for their naivety in general.
>But you can't shake the feeling that kid is going to get more than he bargained for.
>Then again, so did you...

Sorry, I can't keep up with yoru story, I'm too far behind and you update too quickly; there was a time when I could, with many at the same time and at a much faster pace, but that time is long gone....
I like what I'm seeing so far, though. although the scene at the old castle felt a bit forced and the grammar is poor.
>>
>>27697819
To be fair, this was mostly just a experiment out of boredom. I'm no master writer but people seem to like it. Either that or it's because there's no other greentext around.

I've started to run it word and spell check to fix those grammar errors as well, so maybe quality will improve.

Thanks for the criticism though anon.

First summer solstice full moon in over 50 years tonight
Short but glorious
>>
>>27699489
And it's a 'Strawberry Moon' tonight too, signifying the beginning of strawberry season
>>
>>27699579
Now I want a Luna wearing a strawberry costume
>>
>>27699700
>"Luna, you look adorable, plus it will improve your relationship with the ponies of Equestria." Celestia called out
>"We are not leaving this room dressed like this, Tia." Luna responded sharply through the door
"Hey, what's going on?" You walked upon the scene of the two sisters bickering across a closed door
>Celestia sighed, "Luna refuses to attend the Strawberry Moon festival tonight dressed in a beautiful outfit the tailor ponies made for her"
"Wasn't it just your Summer Festival or whatever today?" You put your hands in your pockets, looking at the door that had some sort of rustling coming from behind it
>"Yes, it's a rare, but not unheard of occurrence that both happened to fall on today." The light alicorn raised her voice for her sister to hear, "And 'someone' is being a foal about it"
>When no response came, Celestia looked to you with a pleading expression and you moved to the door before knocking
"Luna? Can I come in?"
>There was a moment's silence before you heard a click and a voice
>"Only Anon comes in." Luna's voice called out before the door creaked open
>Celestia stepped back and you looked at her before stepping through the door
>A swift clack and the door was shut and locked behind you with a miserably colorful princess before you
>Luna looked at you like a shark watching its next meal
>You felt a laugh creeping up your throat and coughed before smiling in a hopefully kind way
"That's... a nice dress" You started, looking her up and down
>The entire outfit was bright pink, with a large, frilly and green collar, obviously designed to appear like a strawberry
>The shoulders were poofy, as was the gown portion over her tail, adding to the illusion
>Maybe if it were closer to the actual color of strawberries and more form fitting, it wouldn't be such an amusing sight
>"It is ridiculous to expect us to face anypony wearing *this*." Luna stated, hoofing at a ribbon trailing from an oversized bow on her back you'd happened to miss
>>
>>27700104
moar you glorious bastard
I REALLY need this now
>>
>>27700104
"It's not so bad," You lied, it was pretty bad, "Maybe you can make some alterations?"
>Luna shook her head, "To alter the design would be a great insult to the seamster."
>She looked over the dress once more and appeared as if she were going to be sick
"Didn't you have a say in the design? Why-"
>"Do you really think it would look like this if we had a say!?" Luna shouted before bowing her head apologetically
After recovering from a minor heart attack, you began to ask, "Then who-"
>Luna's eyes flicked from yours to the door you'd just entered
>If she had laser vision, you were pretty sure Celestia would have a hole burned through her by now
"Oh."
>"Yes. 'Oh'."
>An uncomfortable silence fell with the occasional rustle and Luna moved in the overstuffed outfit
"Would, would it help if I went out there with you?"
>Luna looked at you skeptically
>Without thinking, you unpinned the large bow from her and repinned it to your shirt, just below your neck so the loops rubbed on the sides of your face
>As she looked at you, a smirk broke into a smile and she shifted her gaze away to hide it
>"You'd look just as ridiculous as we do" she said quietly, still looking away
"At least we'd look ridiculous together. Misery loves company, doesn't it?" You were watching her as eye flicked to you to see if you were serious
"Don't suppose you have anything else that would fit me?" You exaggeratedly readjusted your bow with both hands as she finally turned back towards you with a smile
>"We may be able to find something"

>Luna was nervous, you could tell
>You would have been too if you weren't so concentrated on keeping calm for her
"Hey," you placed a hand on the pacing mare's neck. "Don't worry about them, they'll love you. Try to have some fun."
>'Fun' flashbacks came to Luna's mind, causing her to frown and hoof annoyedly at her gown
"I'll be right there next to you." You gave a comforting smile before pulling your hand away and posing. "Do I still look okay?"
>>
>>27700460
>Luna smiled once more, looking you over with mock seriousness
>In her chambers, she'd magically dyed your clothing the same shade of bubblegum pink as her dress
>Pulling a top hat out of a closet, the night princess lopped off the upper half of it and roughed up the remaining piece before dyeing it green and placing it on you
>It was her turn to stifle a laugh with a hoof as you looked yourself over
"Not bad for a strawberry festival, huh?"
>Luna set her hoof back down and calmed down. "Thank you, Anonymous."
>You heard the slight struggle she still had with saying 'you' instead of 'thee', but kept quiet about it
"No problem, Luna." You smiled brightly, offering your arm, "Think we're ready to go?"

>Back on the stage, Celestia finished her speech to the applause of the audience
>You looked at the Strawberry Princess standing next to you, bright pink gown contrasting not unpleasantly with her darker blue coat
>Noticing her legs shaking a bit beneath the frills, you motioned for her to take a deep breath and let it
>Moving to the curtain, you exited onto the stage first, holding it to the side for Luna as she followed
>The evening air was pleasant as you dropped the curtain and moved to stand beside Luna at the podium
>As she mounted the podium, you could hear a few snickers and giggled coming from the crowd, and if Luna's ears twitching told you anything, so did she
>Looking over at Celestia, she was beaming happily at the two of you and you frowned in response
>She didn't seem to care, and you looked at Luna who seemed to be freezing up
>Her eyes were moving across the crowd, but not really fixing on anything, and her mouth was locked slightly open
>You placed a hand on her back, the motion hidden from the crowd by the puffed up pink shoulder piece causing her head to turn as if you struck her
>Leaning in, you whispered in her ear that you were right there with her
>Her wide eyes returned to a more reasonable size and you patted her back
>>
>Despite a shaky start, Luna managed to pull through the speech welcoming everyone to the festival, and explaining how great Equestrian strawberries are
>When she finished, the crowd applauded and Luna stepped down
>"That was wonderful, Luna. And the two of you looked very nice up there" Celestia called as the crowd began to disperse into the festival's merriments of mostly the same stands as from the Summer Sun Festival from earlier in the day
>You fought the urge to flip her off, kinda wishing you hadn't explained what that expression meant to the princesses
>Both of you thanked her through gritted teeth before turning and leaving towards the festival yourselves
>"What would you like to do first?" Luna asks as you walk
>You're about to answer as a small filly gallops up and interrupts
>"Princess Luna! You're dress is so pretty!"
>The filly's eyes look like they're going to pop out of her head as Luna looks surprisedly at her
>"Thank you, our little pony," Luna says before an idea obviously crosses her mind. "Would you like to have it?"
>It was your turn to be surprised and worried as the filly looked like she might explode as Luna magic'd her dress off, leaving it in a pile on the small pony
>"Can I really have it!?" Her voice comes out of the dress before her head pops out a sleeve
>Her parents approach a moment later and began berating their daughter, asking what she did to the princess' dress
>Luna explained that she wanted their daughter to have the dress, even when they said they couldn't accept it
>If she was one thing, Luna was stubborn when she made up her mind, and the family ended up trotting away with a fluffy pink mess on their backs and an overjoyed filly with a large bow at their hooves
>>
>>27701043
>Luna waved a hoof after them before grinning at you
"Okay, now what about me?" you asked, gesturing to your still bright pink clothes and green hat
>"Oh? We don't believe we can get them back to their original color..." her mirthy smile told you otherwise
>"But do not fret, Anonymous," she leaned in to your ear, "We shall be right here with thee all night long."
>You pushed the giggling mare off of you, hooking your hat on her horn and shoving it down onto her head
>Marching away in a huff, Luna followed with the hat adjusted properly on her head and leaning on you slightly as you both went to enjoy the festival together

That's all I got. Not too bad for making it up as I went
>>
>>27701172
Not bad, Anon

>>27701172
cute and funny, anon. You did well.
