It's why we're on 4chan, if you think about it. To talk about our interests and receive attention in the form of (You)s. We give other anons (You)s if we like, or hate, what they post. Thus validating their existence for a few moments. And we post things in the hope of some other anon responding to us, giving us (You)s and validating OUR existence for a few moments.

The original PTSs were pretty funny though. I mean the PIFTSdotEXE ones, that guy HomerSimpson420 (or whatever) is a talentless hack. The old ones were actually entertaining because they took only the absolute weirdest, craziest posts and condensed it all down to 1-2 minutes.
Nowadays the v1.0-v3.0 don't even show up when you google 'pony thread simulator', it's homersimpson trash all the way down the page

Regulation can still reduce the odds though. Though we do self-regulate fairly well, I guess, except on here. I've found that unless you go actively looking for it, you're fairly unlikely to run into porn. And the comic does have a point- if you expose minors, especially kids of the target age MLP is aimed at, to weirdass porn/porn in general, it's gonna cause some damage. I speak from experience.
