I was looking for TF2 fanfics and found Waking Nightmares. The fic intrigued me, and made me feel as if I should watch the show.
I remember watching some videos on Youtube about Portal back in late 2011, and I remember seeing a video titled "My Little Portal" in my suggestions. I didn't watch it, but it made me acknowledge that MLP apparently had a big enough fanbase to do something as autistic as crossovers. Then in early 2012 I stumbled across parodies and grimdark fanfiction. Then I started watching YTPs of the show. Then I actually watched the show.
Learned about the show and fandom through a video series called "This troper". Talked about mlp and bronies posts on the tvtropes forums. Just laughed it off and forgot about it for a week or two until I saw it on the hub when going to bedo. Gave it a shot and thought fall weather friends was alright so I stayed up to watch the next episode which was Suited For Success. Got hooked there, dl'd all season one while I slept. Found our after watching that there was a season 2 coming out about in a month and consumed as much fanfiction that I could, which wasn't surprising because I had gotten into read fanfiction years before that.

And here I am, years later. If I could go back would I stop myself? Would I hell. It's been the best fun I've ever had.

Like three years ago, my friend told me to watch Adventure Time. I looked for it in a file sharing forum and I stumbled upon the first season of MLP. I remembered it being an infamous Internet meme some time ago, and since there was only a single season in that forum, I thought it was no longer a thing. But the screenshots looked nice so I downloaded some episodes to give it a chance.
At first the series looked a bit too lame for me, but when I watched Winter Wrap Up I had some kind of "epiphany". That song was so fucking great I had to replay it like a dozen times. I love the show ever since.

First thing I must have saw was a SFM version of cupcakes or this comic on e6 (http://derpy.me/Zk32o), not sure which one came first, I do know that I binge watched every episode over the course of a few days after the comic though. Found other stuff like FiW and those When I'm videos that put me on the never ending track. The porn I saved was also pretty good, wouldn't say it was a big factor but it centainly opened me up a little
