Annoyed, Emerald walks over to the door on the other side of the reception area and opens it up, peering inside.

It's a spiral staircase going straight up. Emerald forgot about the tall steeple that he saw from outside. This is probably it right here.

What does Emerald do?
>>
Aw yea! Continuing now! I love emerald. No idea why. And I'm a man. Not gay. Or least ill deny it.

Emerald should try looking around other buildings after night and see if someone may have a dragon fire lamp. Then he can write to joyride if she's not dead.

Holy shit, Pokehidden is still ALIVE?

Well idk, maybe i'm just assuming, but you made it sound like he found it and drew that for it. And besides the anon might of just given him refs anyways. That's not to say he hates it or anything.

Not everyone. And that's ok, cause I like Emerald anyways and I don't care if some anon doesn't like Emerald or the quest cause that doesn't impact me in an way, shape, or form.

Emerald checks the boxes at the base of the stairs. They are just full of more party supplies, like napkins, utensils, etc.... The vases are empty however, but Emerald assumes they would probably also be used during some sort of event.

Emerald makes his way up the winding staircase until he comes to the top.

Up here is a small room with nothing more than an empty table, a chair, a window, and a cord that looks like it goes up to a bell connected to the top of the steeple.

Oh yeah, and a corpse.

What does Emerald do?
>>
>>27135949
Do a perception check on that corpse ASAP and slowly back away.
>>
>>27135949
Fucking son of a bitch I woulda almost pissed myself if I were him.

Take a quick peek at the corpse to see if you can discern what happened to the poor pony. After you calm down long enough for your heart dislodges itself from your throat.

>>27136022
It could be, but to me it looks more like it's just in the process of looking out the window. I'm assuming they got surprised by whatever killed them. Poor soul.
>>
>>27135949

Emerald calm yourself. It's only another corpse right? Give the room a brief looksee and head back down and start grabbing stuff.

Emerald starts to look around the room to see if there is anything useful and as he does the corpse...

Turns to look at Emerald.

"Huh? Is it time to switch shifts al-"

The corpse starts, but then stops mid-sentence in surprise.

>Dex Check
>Rolled 2, Passed

The corpse seems to be surprised and confused and Emerald's appearance, and Emerald is just shocked and horrified and the dead body now talking to him, however he seems to recover first from the shock.

What does Emerald do?

If it's intelligent enough for speech, we might be able to reason with it.

Emerald asks the undead who he is, and what this place is.

The corpse seems to regain it's senses and says,

"Uh... E-err..."

Your question seems to bring the undead back to his sense. The corpse then grabs the nearby rope and begins tugging on it hard, causing the bell to ring loudly.

"I-Intruder! Lady Elegance, I need help!"

What does Emerald do?
>>
>>27136428

Well, so much for that. RUN!
>>
>>27136428

Cover our ears before we go deaf and stumble down stairs.
>>
>>27136428
Fucking hell we shoulda just left. I just thought they would be reasonable enough maybe we could ask some questions, RUN.

I wanted to suggest just backing out and bolting down the stairs, but I thought maybe we could talk.

Just run a bit carefully, wouldn't want to fall down the stairs.

Damn curiousity. We shouldn'ta even came up here.
>>
>>27136428
Dang it I had a feeling he was going to reach for the bell.
>>
>>27136428

Time to book it! Maybe we can hide somewhere in the ruins, like the stone tower we haven't visited yet.
>>
>>27136428
Hey, maybe they're those friendly cults that like to offer a delicious punch to all those goers? They can't be that bad?
>>
>>27136504
Unless we can find a good place in the ruins to hide in,(like somewhere in a building that only we can get into we might even want to consider running out of the village.

We could even hide up in a tree or something, Emerald climbed up one on the way to the village didn't he?
>>
>>27136428
I never wanted to come up here. I wanted to BURN this place. Now we're fucked. Remember that undead mechanical Emerald last thread? Enjoy.
>>
>>27136428
>>27136529
But seriously, I imagine running down the steps will do nothing but bring us closer to whoever he's alerting, we might as well wait what's coming to us
>>
>>27136546
To the outpost!
>>
>>27136571

Have faith. Maybe we can still win this yet!
>>
>>27136428
We shoulda bashed his head in immediately. Fuck. Push spell him down so he quits ringing that shit, then run back to our tower thing and pull up the ladder
>>
>>27136428
Use the push spell to shove him against the wall (non lethally) to get him to stop.
>>
>>27136571
Relax would yah? We can still salvage this. He woulda started ringing the bell anyways, especially since the place would of been on fire. I do admit that i'm kicking myself in the ass for this curiousity though.

>>27136585
They'd have to be pretty close by to get there before we can get down the stairs, let alone out of the place.

>>27136597
I do believe we can still too.

>>27136606
I think it'd waste even more time to do that, he's already ringing the bell enough to alert whatever he's gonna alert.
>>
>>27136652

The only thing I'm kicking myself over is the fact we didn't pin him to the wall with our push magic before he could reach the rope.
>>
>>27136691
Before I would of said that would of been a bit hasty, but now I totally agree. At the very least some answers would of been nice. If they even have any. I saw the rope too, but I didn't even think much of it after seeing it.
>>
>>27136428
.....M-maybe we should threaten to burn the book if we get cornered? They p-probably value it a lot.
>>
>>27136834

We should probably only use that as a last resort. For now we must ran and hide! Perhaps somewhere in the woods or beach.
>>
>>27136839
Why not the outpost?
>>
>>27136839
Only problem with the beach though, is there isn't much of anywhere to hide there.

How the fuck did that zombie not see us and ring the bell well before we even got into the building? They were looking right out the window!
>>
>>27136861
It's gonna be hard just to even GET to the beach. Since they sounded the alarm, this whole town and surrounding areas will probably come to life. Dead creatures appearing left and right.
>>
>>27136849
Cause of the fact that it's in such ruins that It might be fairly easy to see him up there.
>>
>>27136428

Hurry maybe we can hide in one of the buildings!
>>
>>27136834
>threaten to burn the book
with what fire
>>
>>27136876
More difficult than getting a colt lost in the woods of cornered on the beach.
>>
>>27136886
Like an outpost which can only be accessed by a movable ladder.
>>
>>27136890
Hmm, good point. We should just throw it down the well instead.
>>
>>27136899
That might work for regular undead but what about a lich lord or a dark wizard?
>>
>>27136899
So they'll just wait it out until em comes down. He can't stay up there forever.
>>
>>27136875
Maybe, but that's a bit assumptuous. Unless they are in the ground we would of seen some at the very least. There of course could be some somewhat close. But not close enough that we saw them.

>>27136894
Depends on how much time we have till someone or something shows up.

>>27136910
Maybe we'd get lucky and they wouldn't know he's up there. Otherwise we're gonna wanna bolt to the woods and hide in a tree when they are out of sight.
>>
>>27136910
If they're that powerful then would running or hiding be of any use?

>>27136925
And what other options are there?

>>27136933
Even if we make it to the beach, what then?
>>
>>27136952
>Even if we make it to the beach, what then?

Find someplace to hide.
>>
>>27136952
At this point we can only guess what's gonna happen. I don't even know how much time we have till something or someone shows up. We'll have to figure out what to do in the next update.
>>
>If they're that powerful then would running or hiding be of any use?

We don't know unless we try.

>And what other options are there?

We can fight, we can try diplomacy, or we can try the book.
>>
>>27136966
The ocean? Under the sand? A random plot hole?

>>27136978
And we can try all of that from the outpost.
>>
Maybe we can try the book after all. Who knows, maybe it might actually help us.
>>
>>27136428
If it looks like we are going to get caught then we might want to hide that book somewhere so they won't be able to get it off us.

(last of the night.)

Emerald quickly casts a push spell to get the zombie away from the bell. It causes the corpse to keel over backwards.

Emerald doesn't stick around long enough to see what he does when he gets up. The colt sprints down the stairs, only stopping with something when he collides with something near the entrance to the church.

Emerald looks up to see the shriveled face of the creature that was in the tomb below.

"What the- Hey, wait! Stop!" The creature cries as Emerald bolts past him.

In his terror, Emerald runs toward the outpost. As he does the soil around him seems to burst up as hooves claw their way to the surface as creatures of half-skeleton, half-decayed flesh appear.

Emerald quickly climbs up the ladder to the outpost and attempts to unhinge the ladder from it's holdings, but he isn't strong enough. So instead he hides himself the best he can while still staring out over the edge of the building.

The undead seem to be confused, and a few of them form groups and begin to talk, but after a few seconds a mighty roar comes from the tower in the center of the town, and a creature unlike anything Emerald has seen yet bounds out towards the undead.

it's entirely bone, and wearing what looks to be a leather cape of some kind. It has the skull of a pony, but that's where the similarities end. The skull has horns, and the body seems to be that of some giant clawed creature with a stinging tail.

One of the corpses approaches the creatures and says,

"Lady Elegance, what is going on?"

"I was hoping you could tell me that." The creature says, in a surprisingly womanly voice.

The undead from the steeple comes running out of the church and says,

"M'lady! I saw an intruder!"

The monster named Lady Elegance snarls and says, "Search the town, and a few of you fan out into the forest, he couldn't have gone far. Capture him if you can."

What does Emerald do?
>>
>>27137005

Well that certainly makes sense.

I wonder what's in the book then. It's obviously not the soul of that zombie in the basement.

>>27137199

Burning the place down probably would've been noticed as well. Also, where is this port you want us to find? I'd assume that a village of undead would've attacked any settlement in the region.
>>
>>27139376
>Also, where is this port you want us to find?

FicFic mentioned that the port our boat was sailing to wasn't far.

"Anon: How far is the straits from the port we were heading to?

FicFic: The strait is pretty close to the town. Like, a day, day and a half."
>>
Well we're fucked. Maybe the zombies will try to be reasonable if they find him because he has that locked book. Wonder what's going to happen with that book. Maybe if emerald threatens to destroy it
>>
>>27139450
If we hide it. Maybe we could bargain our life for the book.
>>
>>27137032
Okay, first we do a perception check to see where all the zombies go. Then we do a Int check to see how much time we have before the'll search the outpost. After that, we gather all our things and see if there's a way to safely get down without being seen.

I have a strong feeling that even though she's undead Elegance's stinger still very much works.
>>
bumnk
>>
>>27139492
The only way down is the ladder we used to get in here and, since the building is raised, jumping out a window has the risk of injury. We should look for a hiding place in here.
>>
>>27137032
Well with all the talk of Emerald trying to remember how to make a fire starter and the urge to commit arson, fire has to end up helping him somehow
>>
>>27141824
We'll have to keep our heads about us. A fire could provide a nice distraction, but not in this tower it would kill us to leap down or burn it down. We might not have time to set a fire and I would be disappointed since I've been trying to burn that temple since we found the corpse in the basement.
>>

Burning the place would have trapped the corpses inside, and provided a distraction while we made our get away.

The part about the port and the book was more a general course of action. Our ultimate goal is to reunite with Joy and Ruby.
>>27139394
like this anon said the port is not far away, but it's a matter of finding it. If we knew which way the ship was heading we could go in that general direction along the shore and eventually come across it maybe even in time to find Joy before she sets out for the wasp nest.

>Burning the place would have trapped the corpses inside

Most of the corpses apparently bursted out of the ground. So burning the temple would've likely only trapped two and that's it.

Emerald surreptitiously peers over the side of the outpost to see what the zombies end up doing. There is more than a dozen of them, and they break off from each other, a few heading towards the forest, while others wander around the ruins of the town.

Emerald sees a new person enter the pack, and with a shock realizes it's the raisin-like body that was in the basement of the church.

"Fair Lady, what is happening? I was having such a lovely nap when your roar roused me." The corpse says in a raspy voice.

"My apologies for waking you sir, but it seems we have an intruder." The large cloaked undead says, standing a little higher and gazing all around.

"Oh, that would explain why my key is gone." The new body says, holding up the cut chain that Emerald sliced, "As is the holy book."

"An intruder and a thief." The one called Lady Elegance says looking down at the smaller corpse with a slight growl.

"Shall we alert Lord Sepulcher?" The dried up husk of a body says.

"Yes, once we have something to report. I wish not to disturb him now however, he is working."

What does Emerald do?

Welcome back fic.

We're probably going to want to leave. There is a chance that we could just hide long enough that they think that we got away, but if they have any brains at all they are gonna check everywhere. Which will eventually include where we are hiding.

Do we have anything that we could hurl a considerable distance away from us so they all go away to investigate? But then again it's likely that only a few of em will check.

The only other thing we could do it try to sneak around, but our dex really isn't that high, so that'd probably not work.
>>
>>27144759
This isn't even the worst one! Look around the outpost for possible hiding places.
>>
>>27144759

Clutch the club tightly and do a perception check to find a way to steathfully get out of the outpost and into the woods.

Are you sure we want to wait long though. That bone dragon chimera thing is as big as the outpost. All she has to do is turn her head and she'll likely see us. I do agree that we need a plan though.
>>
>>27144759

Emerald do a Int check to form a plan to get out of this village without being seen.

Emerald should try watching a little longer. Try seeing if they have any search pattern. Then try bolting for another spot that's the woods are an area they already checked.
>>

>>
>>27144891
It's supposed to be getting pretty close to being dark right? If we wanted to sneak away the, under the cover of night would probably be the best time. I can't imagine that they have any better eyesight than when they were alive so it should work.

It'd be awesome if we could start something on fire as a distraction too, but we don't have a simple and easy way of starting a fire right now.
>>
>>27144975
I think it's just now night.
>>
>>27144975

Again with the fire. I don't think that's a good idea. We are stuck in the tower and starting any fire will draw them to us.

The problem with using a fire as a distraction is starting it. They may see it before you can get away.
>>

>>27144997
I meant somewhere away from where we wanna go, but we'd need some way of doing it from a distance to really have an effect.
>>
The only problem I forsee with waiting is that it could screw us over even more. But then again dashing madly into the forest probably wouldn't be wise.

Emerald still hasn't eaten yet so I imagine it won't take long to tire him out.
>>
>>27144759
This map >>27137111 shows a building right next to the outpost. I just wish there was a way to get on it's roof and onto the ground without being heard or seen.
>>
That's a good idea to get on the other buildings roof. Aside from gigantis maybe seeing and hearing it.
>>
>>27145041
That and it would require a dex check which we are notoriously bad at. The fact that we got the key was a miracle.

>>27144759

>>27145072
>That and it would require a dex check which we are notoriously bad at. The fact that we got the key was a miracle.
We must not of needed that high of a roll, and considering we were just cutting something off a sleeping/dorman zombie, that's not surprising.

>Lets wait and if some zombies start searching the outpost use the push spell on something else to draw them away while we make an escape.
Sounds like as good of a plan as any.

>>27145092
Which is why we need to make sure we get away unnoticed.
>>
>>27145101
That could be preferable.
>>
>>27144759
What if we used a magic missile to blast away at one of the buildings? That would be a quick way to distract them, provided Emerald does it quickly enough to where the zombies don't get a chance to see where the magic missile came from.
>>
>>27145092

I think Fic all but told us that this is what will happen to Emmy if we get caught.>>27137401
>>
>>27145103
>I'm not really sure how being on the roof would benefit us.

If we jump out of the outpost to the ground we would likely break a leg. If we jump onto a roof and then to the ground we would probably not be hurt.
>>
>>27145123
Magic missile only hones in on/damages living flesh I do believe. Would do nothing but get us spotted probably.

>>27145143
Our body roll is our shittiest check. We wouldn't make a jump. The only thing I can think of is pull out the ladder and use it as a bridge to another roof, but that'll skyline us hard and get us spotted.
>>
>>27145149
>We wouldn't make a jump.

It all depends on how far the roof is and how much of a drop it would be. Better the roof then straight to the ground.
>>
>>27145143
Why don't we just use the ladder? It'd be much safer. We get down when we see an opportunity. All jumping to the roof would do know is endanger Emerald.
>>
>>27145163
Why jump at all? There's a ladder.

If one climbs up, we brain them. If more then one, hide.
>>
>>27145149
>Magic missile only hones in on/damages living flesh I do believe. Would do nothing but get us spotted probably.

Oh yeah, forgot about that... Maybe if there was a plant somewhere in the village then, but yeah, even that would probably get us spotted just as easily now that I think of it.

...I guess just wait for an opening and then make a mad dash for the forest is our only hope.

Emerald decides to wait a little longer and see if a path opens up somewhere else he can hide.

As he watches he sees the zombies shuffle from house to house, watched upon by the giant dragon-chimera-pony skeleton and the raisin-skinned undead. The pair of them never seem to wander far from the center of the town, seemingly circling the tower and watching the progress of the other undead.

Emerald notices that none of the undead that went into the forest seem to have returned. Are they staying nearby, or are they doing a nice thorough search?

Emerald watches as the undead round the tower and go near the farm. He hears one of the zombies say,

"Hey, anyone gone up the outpost yet?"

"No, I don't think so."

"Ugh, I hate climbing that ladder though."

The zombies stop to talk about and Emerald panics and looks around for an escape. There doesn't seem to be any undead nearby.

Emerald thinks that maybe he could jump to the nearby house's roof. It isn't guaranteed to hide him well, but it'd be better to be caught in the outpost.

Or maybe he should stick around? There are certainly less zombies now. Maybe he can fight his way through... Though he doesn't know what to do about the giant skeleton.

Emerald also realizes that he could probably make a straight shot for the forest, or even the tower, since most of the undead are over near the farm right now.

What does Emerald do?
>>
>>27145131
we also probably won't be able to have sex anymore if we get that ending so we better proceed damn carefully.
>>
>>27145220
This might be a stretch, but as a last resort when they go to climb up here could we knock them down and land on them? They should absorb the fall. And then we bolt out of there, we'd have no other choice at that point. The most we could do at that point is climb up a tree when we are out of view. Or find a nearby bush to hide in or something.

Now would be a good time to chuck something away from the outpost so we can get down.

Or maybe we can even combine the two by chucking something away as one of em goes to climb up the ladder and knock the one climbing up off the ladder and try to land on them.
>>
>>27145220
>Emerald notices that none of the undead that went into the forest seem to have returned.
I'm guessing they're spreading out farther, trying to pick up our tail, assuming that we're just running straight away from town.

Anyway, Elegance will fucking trash us if we have to fight. We're gonna have to jump to the roof or make a break for it now while they're all near the farm
>>
>>27145220

I don't think we should run to the stone tower. Unless there's something special in there we'll just be trapped. I think we should try for the house's roof.
>>
27145222

Don't run for the tower. That's where Elegance and Coffinkey are chilling. Either we jump to the roof or make a break for the woods. I'm thinking we should just head for the forest. I think their initial search is spreading out from town; I don't think they'll expect us to be BEHIND them

The only advantage I see to going to the stone tower is if by some miricle we can either find another way out or something to help even the odds. Otherwise this would make a bad situation only worse. As the stone tower is further from the woods and in the center of town.
>>
>>27145487

>>
>>27145487

The forest is the safest place to go considering it's completely dark and the hardest place to be spotted. It was dark enough during the day so it would be even darker now, but then it would be too dark for us as well and we would have a hard time finding out where to even go from there.

Emerald feel around for a climbable tree and scale it. We can hide up in the branches.
>>
>>27145718
Well at least I can stick out. So I'm going to take whatever any insecure 12 year old can throw at me. Because I'm a grown ass man. Who loves ponies
>>
>>27145671
>Name's are for content creators.

Do colorists count by any chance?
>>
>>27145669
Head back to the village, we don't stand a chance out here. If we're quick we can undo this mistake and reach that building without anybody noticing.
>>
>>27145752

I believe so.
>>
>>27145669
Perception Check for everything.
>>
>>27145669

Go back to the edge of the village were it's more lit and try to find some bushes to hide in.
>>
>>27145754
Maybe hide in a building closest to where he's at and hope no one is in there or decides to go in there.
>>
>>27145697
How about being caught because we're unable to make progress in the forest or bump into one of our pursuers. It's also safe to assume that they can see in the dark, unlike us.
>>
>>27145669

Emerald do an Int check to see if staying in a place this dark is a good idea.
>>
>>27145765
We should aim for the building that was already searched.
>>
>>27145748
>Well at least I can stick out.
Why? What is the point? Do you think your opinion is above an Anon's, and you need a name to grace people with your charming personality? Because you don't. The whole merit of being Anon is that your post can be judged strictly by what you're saying, and not by how many people like your internet persona. Nobody takes namefags seriously unless their putting out content. You are not, so you don't need a name.

>>27145752
It's really up to the individual. I've never used a name even when I write and "draw," but that's because I do it very seldomly.
>>
>>27145669

Emerald just find a tree and climb up to a branch.
>>
>>27145774
That would be impossible to fail. It isn't
>>
>>27145669
Try going far away enough from the village and then hide somewhere, either by going up a tree or laying low in a bush or something. Stay alert for any sounds.
>>
>>27145788
Tree branches make noise or break when you put weight on them.
>>
>>27145807

Not if it's nice and sturdy.
>>
>>27145787
Yea. I one hate social media and two aren't hiding behind a Vail of anonymous.
So what now? Can you say the same? Doubt it. Because I just don't care what you have to say about "name fags". I'm here for Emerald. Not you.
>>
>>27145669

Well this isn't going to work. Stay low and get close enough back to the village where we can see again.
>>
>>27145807
We might be far enough away that they won't notice. Maybe we can walk away more, but we need to figure out some way knowing where we are.

I'm assuming we at least are pointed west cause that's where the forest is in relation to the outpost.

>>27145835
I really don't want to go back to the village, we just fought to get out of there.
>>
>>27145828

I would suggest ignoring the naysayers for now. They aren't going to change their minds and you are likely not either. So just ignore them and not argue about it.
>>
>>27145835
Maybe if Emerald hid behind that wall which was discussed earlier for breaking line of sight. That would be good enough to hide from zombies inside the village but still allow sight of them in there without much risk.
>>
>>27145669

Emerald move slowly and see if you can adjust the amount of light you can use in your spell.
>>
>>27145846
This is why you dont post the whole goddamn quest to db you fucking retard.
>>
>>27145850

We would have to climb back up that ladder though. So that wouldn't work. Not unless we are sure that we aren't seen.
>>
>>27145828
>hiding behind
People always fall back on this excuse. If I went on derpibooru and starting acting like a jackass, calling people nigger and generally not following site etiquette, I'd get called out and shit on, and rightly so.

Here you're doing the same, and yet act like you're above the expected etiquette of the site. Why do you think this is okay?

>>27145864
second. I wouldn't mind it so much if it didn't bring cancer to this site
>>
>>27145864

Why are you blaming me for that?
>>
>>27145828
Okay calm down everyone, including you

You don't have to be too defensive, just calm down and do what you'd like
>>
>>27145867
I thought someone said there was a wall not too far from the outpost that could used to break line of sight while going to the forest. Back when everyone was fighting over which to go from the outpost.
>>
>>27145871
>Why do you think this is okay?

Because 4chan has a really bad rep in the rest of the internet. So newcomers naturally feel they are above the regulars.
>>
>>27145817
Wood still creaks and leaves still rustle. Also we're the only living creature so we're noisy enough to notice on our own.

>>27145844
We're blind as a bat. Once the zombies are done searching the ruins, it's likely they'll join the forest search parties. That would make the forest more dangerous.
>>
>>27145892
Nope you misread that. he was talking about the outpost wall.
>>
>>27145669

Emerald hide somewhere and wait awhile. The others will eventully fann out and search the forest. Perhaps once they finish checking the town we could sneak back and hide in the outpost or one of the other buildings.
>>
>>27145909
Damn. If only. That would have probably been the safest. I'm thinking staying near the town is best. Since light spells are only going to do more harm then good and in case something super bad is in the forest the towns a close place to run and hide.

Emerald looks for any light from the zombies who might be searching the forest. Come to think of it, he didn't see any of them carrying torches or anything. Maybe they can cast light spells too? Or maybe they don't light at all?

Emerald fumbles around blindly, looking for a tree he can climb and get an idea of where he is.

Unfortunately he can't tell how tall or climbable the trees are in the darkness.

Nonetheless, Emerald thinks he might have found a suitable one. It might be kind of dangerous climbing trees in the dark though...

What does Emerald do?
>>
>>27145669

I don't know if we should use the light spell and make our way towards the ocean or head back to the village.
>>
>>27145938

Turn around.
>>
>>27145938
Emerald rear your legs and buck the big scary thing behind you.
>>
>>27145938

I can't imagine going back into the village would be any safer. With all this folliage around I find it really hard to believe that we couldn't find a bush or something to hide in for the night.

I don't know though there is a lot of variables to keep in mind and it's hard to even halfway anticipate them.

>>27145938
FUCK FUCK FUCK

Oh man, now we either climb the tree or get sodomized by red eyes there.

I'm starting to think that we should of stayed in the village. But honestly i'm starting to feel we're fucked either way.

>>27145957
We'd waste time turning around.

Right now you're just acting like an ass to be an ass. If you really cared about Emerald you wouldn't be starting shit and derailing the thread about him.

>>27145846
Maybe instead of posting coltquest all the time you just save posts and put it on derpibooru once a month to limit the cancer coming in.
>>

>>
>>27146105
We're already going to attract a ton of attention might as well use the light and run so we don't trip over shit
>>
>>27146086
Cool for me. Saying that about myself.

I'm thinking a quick light and push spell aiming for the red eyes monster then a dash back into town. There may be no one who notices it as most are way off searching the forest. I don't see any other real ways to escape right now.
>>
>>27146086

Yes, good goyim, my plan is working perfectly. I did nothing wrong by posting with a name, and this post is proof of it.
>>
>>27146121
I'm also a huge nigger

Going back to town is a death sentence since running and being chased is going to draw a lot of attention (kinda like my name whoring) I don't know what I was thinking.
>>
Why hasn't anybody suggested slitting it's throat and then smashing him in the head with the club to knock him out? No light, no noise, and if we go back to the villige they'll assume we went in that direction when they find the corpse.
>>
>>27146139
So you're trying to derail the thread by acting like an idiot about something that shouldn't matter? What point are you trying to prove, that people can't control themselves and just ignore shit? Is that really a good thing to prove?
>>
>>27146153
I'm not black

And staying in the forest where Emerald can't see anything and zombies which can is better? If he can hide in a building the zombies in town may fight the monster and not know what happened
>>
>>27146166

>>27146210

>>
>>27146226
we only have a few seconds to make a decisions either spin and whack it with the club hoping it knocks it out, or run. I don't know that we have the time to use a spell but using a push spell would probably be best if we can.
>>
>>27145938

>>
>>27146226
Well anyways its not likely to be a good outcome. I'm going to bed so I'm eager to see how Emerald fairs by then. Hopefully good but figuring the options I'm not ruling out an injury. Maybe the monster is with the zombies and maybe not. But a light spell is really the only way to know for sure currently.

>>27146248
It's hard to say, hitting it might not and probably won't do much other than enraging it. Emerald would have to get luck and get a good hit in on it to knock it unconcious. I guess we could go for a logical weakpoint like the eyes or something, but that wouldn't do much for knocking it out.
>>
>>27145938

Emerald quickly do a body check and swing around to face the red eyes. Fight it with your club or magic.

(Last for the night.)

Emerald uses his light spell, and immediately there is an uncomfortable cry behind him. Emerald spins around to see some dark, hairty thing shielding it's eyes. It's got massive, sharp claws and needle-like teeth.

Without even really thinking about it Emerald throws his push spell at it, knocking it over. He then runs wildly away, not even realizing that he charges straight over the side of a hill, tumbling down quite a ways before ramming into a tree stump.

Emerald sits up, rubbing his side where he collided with the wood. It's sore, but he doesn't think he broke anything. His light spell is still active, and though it doesn't seem to reach as far as his light spell normally does. The first thing the colt notices is a slow flowing stream winding it's way through the low areas of the hill. He also sees what appears to be a small outcropping in the hill beside him that makes a cave.

What does Emerald do?
>>
>>27146389

That cave might be where that monster lives. I don't think we should go there.
>>
>>27146389
I'm not really in the mood for caves. Good place to get cornered. If we follow the river, odds are it'll lead to a settlement somewhere, right? Quickly, lest whatever the fuck that shit was comes up on us.

>Your "reasons" were disproven.
Pretty sure 4chan valuing anonymity isn't disprovable because it's true. Go to any thread, post with a name on long enough, and people will call you out.

>Why does someone need a reason to have a name?
Because if someone is drawing, or making content, a name helps users find them. Coltquest's use of a name is perfectly fine for this reason.

>If they want one what right do you have to tell them they can't?
The majority of users are Anon and like it that way. Unnecessary name usage invites drama and circlejerking. If people just posted Anon, we'd all get along fine.

The value of anon only exists as long as the majority is anon. When the minority is anon it no longer has any value. The blatant overreaction is a necessary aspect to keep the majority as anon. The reason the 'rule' is a simple 'content makers can use a name' is because that's a hard line. Any soft line will just get pushed, until anon is a minority.

If you'd like to see the result of everyone namefagging/tripfagging and how that affects post valuing and conversation, go to Ponychan or find a general with a majority tripfags. They do exist. Tripping has had a demonstrable and noticeable effect in the past. Asserting that it doesn't/won't is just ignoring every user's experience besides your own.

>>27147078

The reasons have been clear and explained thoroughly here. But for some reason the Derpi faggots just want to react to the overreaction instead of what was actually explained. The reasoning against it is just 'lol whynot?' which does nothing.

We value freedom above all. You're absolutly free to post with a name, but everyone else is free to shit on you for it.
You're free to shit up a thread with arguments, because there's no authority there to step in.

The only thing iv'e seen this place be strict about so far is the whole name thing. I actually would rather post anon cause I like it better that way, but I have issue with people trying to enforce the whole "namefagging" thing so much that they get overbearing about it and are just as bad as any annoying twat on Ponychan.

I find the Ponychan comparison weird cause it's saying that people can't control themselves,(some people apparently can't but I dont' know why that should have to control everyone else) just because they have a name on.

>>27147150
That's one thing I like about it, when you guys aren't whining about the name thing you can be pretty cool.
>>
>>27147228
Don't be silly. There's no reason because I say there's no reason. Now go QQ some more while I QQ some more.
>>
>>27147095
I was wagering that the book is needed to make us an undead.

Going back is probably silly but should we atleast consider hiding the book? It would seem we have two problems. The first is the Grue. If we turn off the light we risk being eaten. The second is the undead minions, as far as we know they don't need light and so we are distinguishable from them and risk being caught.
>>
>>27147201
So neither of us has given a reason for our sides.
But here's the difference, you're the one claiming no one should use a feature of the site. You're the one who NEEDS a reason.
>>
>>27147237
The reason we are so cool other than the namefag thing is because of the namefag thing. No identities, no restrictions, no limits. Totally free discourse.
>>
>>27147246
The name field is there for content creators. We told you that.

You're the one claiming that the main feature of the site is valueless.

I think that needs an explanation more than anything.

I agree.

You can't have one without the other.

Read the 4chan FAQ, culture section.

Anonymous is enshrined via 2008 era memery.
Thus, you a wrong and a faggot.
>>
>>27147237
It makes it perfectly right. If something needs to be enforced to keep it that way, then the methods of enforcement are justified. Even if they are annoying as fuck.

You got the comparison wrong. I wasn't meaning the enforcement of dumb rules or not. Notice the conversation on Ponychan and how it differs from here. Account for the change in hard rules where you can. Everyone knows each other, most threads have people supporting each other and detracting from each other just because they know them. Personal drama and fighting is quite common. If an Anonymous poster enters a conversation with several namefags then their posts hold less weight. That kind of stuff is fairly common there, and it's because you are identifiable there. The majority is not Anonymous.

Here we have just as many stupid arguments, but notice how the content of the arguments change. Instead of being about people it's about things or content. I can't value your posts higher or lower because you're my buddy, because I don't know who you are. I value your post based on what it says.

>I find the Ponychan comparison weird cause it's saying that people can't control themselves, just because they have a name on.
People don't control themselves in regards to what I'm speaking of, it's subconscious. It's both difficult for people to consciously counter, and most of the time there's no need to put the effort towards that. The only across-the-board counter is to not have names at all except where needed.

That's the environment or 'culture' people want to keep, and one of the defenses of this culture, since it's inception, has been what looks like a massive over-reaction.

No one said that. We've given many reasons, you just say 'nuh uh'. And suddenly, it's like the reasons don't exist! Except they do, and are still valid.

Maybe so, but don't you think it's dumb how this argument went on and on with no one willing to letting it drop.
>>
>>27147249
I still think ignoring the named people would be a better course of action. I'd rather be anon myself, but i find it utterly absurd that a name causes people to lose their heads so much. Ignoring them wouldn't be enabling people to post with names, it would do the opposite. Then whoever the person is can take their name off if they want people to stop being stupid and listen to them.
>>27147273
You can't be chill about things unless you don't have a name? I fail to see why, that's more on you than other people. Like i've said at least a few times now, I'd rather be anon cause it seems like a better system. For the most part, it depends on what you want out of the system.
>>27147315
Not "right" exactly. I see there is logic behind it, but that doesn't mean people should be free to harass people just cause.
>>
>>27147337
You mean that completely valid argument of "because we say so"? Because thats the only argument any of you have used so far.
>>
>>27147345
Nah. It's the internet. That's how it goes. I've gotta get the last post even if it's obvious we both think we've won! Whatever winning means.

Tbh, it wasn't really even an argument for most of it. Just people trying to rail a guy long enough for him to go "Geeze, ok, I'll drop the name".

>>27147364
>Not "right" exactly. I see there is logic behind it, but that doesn't mean people should be free to harass people just cause.
People are free to harass people for whatever reason as long as it's within the bounds of the rules. Generally a bad way to have a thread, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
>>
http://www.4chan.org/rules
"13. Do not use avatars or attach signatures to your posts."

Names and tripcodes are considered some short of signature, and namefagging is a baneable ofense along with avatarfagging.
And this rule has been enforced multiple times, usually when a namefag reaches a high amount of shitposting and hate, to the point were they become a threat to the semi-pacific convivence of the site.
>>
>>27147371
>I can't read
Well. I guess that explains it. Do you need an interpreter to go back through the post and explain what you were too dim-witted to catch on about in sign language?
>>
Welp. All you guys arguing brought it over the bump limit.

ded
>>
>>27147394
Show me one fucking argument that can't be summed up as "because we say so".
>>
>>27147395

I know. And I kept warning them. I told them! I even posted a link to take it to the gen thread. But anyone listened? No! Now the thread's dead. Congrats everyone you make me so proud.
>>
Bunch of neanderthals...
>>
>>27147400
You've already dismissed every reason as "because we say so". There's no reason to spoonfeed you even more for you to dismiss based on nothing. You've decided your stance and you're set in it. If you want to actually go back and read the reasons given to you you're free to. They're in the thread. Some of them are even in the last dozen posts.

But we both know you won't. Because everything that disagrees with your position can't be a real reason! Because you're right!
>>
>>27147415
I prefer denisovans.
>>
>>27147406
Why would you expect that to work? Conversations don't just move like that, especially when people are brand new to 4chan and probably wouldn't understand how anyway.
>>
>>27147400
There have been quite a few, actually. Most were some variation of "it promotes a certain kind of board culture".
>>
>>27147425

Applelock was long one. And the rest here I know should've known better.
>>
>>27147419
"Its a core feature of the site"
"It's site etiquette."
"It's for creators."
And yet no one has explained why.
"It causes circlejerks."
And who are the ones circlejerking? Oh right, the ones crying over a FUCKING NAME.
>>
>>27147444
So you don't know what circlejerking is?
>>
>Guy new to the site comes
>Takes sudden interest in Colt Quest and decides to participate in the thread
>Ends up derailing and killing it
Thanks, you really know how to play games. I was afraid we'd die by zombies, but now we gotta wait 2 more days for another thread just to see what happens.
>>
>>27147436
Oh and this one. This ones my favorite. This "board culture". The culture thats exactly the same as any board with names. Yeah this one is invalid too.
>>
>>27147444

Why didn't you take this argument to the gen thread? Why?
>>
>>27147457
>derailing and killing it

He didn't derail it. Others complaining about him did.
>>
>>27147444
So what are your refutations to the reasons and the explanations given for each of them? So far the only response I see here is 'nou!'.
>>
People are high fiveing themselves. at /cyoa/

>>27147452
>>
>>27147444
>>27147458
Those are all valid reasons that you're either too stupid to understand or are just ignoring.
>>
>>27147458
>The culture thats exactly the same as any board with names.
Not exactly. People behave differently when anonymous. Most people on 4chan prefer those differences in behavior continue. There is a difference in board culture between here and sites that allow/encourage names.
>>
>>27147502
>one faggot
>le general boogyman
>>
>>27147458
>The culture thats exactly the same as any board with names.
That's just outright false. If you think that I can see why you don't understand. You might eventually learn but I doubt it.

Emerald follow the stream for a ways. Also think about where would be a safe place to hide. We don't want to be eaten or caught.

We may want to consider hiding the book someplace.

Well there certainly was a lot of ridiculing wasn't there?
>>
>>27147889

That and more.
>>
>>27147889
Well deserved ridicule
>>
>>27147943

I'm not so sure about that. It crashed the the thread. No one wanted that.
>>
>>27147950
Collateral damage. While no one wanted the thread to die, the namefags deserved every bit of the ridicule they received.
>>
>>27147959
I'm sorry that you are that short sighted and petty in your dispute that the death of a thread is just collateral damage.
>>
>>27147980
The thread can be remade in seconds. It's not gone forever...
>>
>>27147987
While namefags are annoying, theres no reason to say anything about it whatsoever. It's childish.
