Nah, the show got really good again during season 5, but the fandom had largely begun to settle down at that point and conventions were largely becoming a SSDD affair.
The best years of the fandom would be late 2011-summer of 2012. After that everything started to tumble down, despite the show finally recovering from s3 with season 5.

2010 was the true golden year, it was around the time when the fandom was a small interest and was made up of a lot of good people

2012 was probably around the peak of popularity, when everyone was into it, even the cringeworthy crowd, and I'd argue it was not that great of a year for the fandom, but it did have a bit of neat content.
