It was more of a backlash against how popular the fic had gotten, despite the arguable quality. Yes there were a few scenes that were very good, but aside from those, the story felt like a fairly bland fall from grace and redemption. Add in the fact that she's an alicorn OC which is one of the best ways to get hate on here and things just don't go well for you.
Phrase it however you want, point is, she's shit.
