I think the reason I liked that part so much Is because without him there the mayor Mares lone about grumpys travels bringing people from all over to the wedding would have felt hollow
It still felt hollow but the changeling help cover for it a bit because almost every pony in that Hall was from ponyvile
Also there weren't many people in the hall at all I guess they Couldent be bothered animating what should have been hundreds of ponys

In that case, and assuming I'm allowed to dream.
Something comes up and the main 6 are too busy to go to the gala, and the CMC are obligated somewhere else too, so they give all their tickets to ponies to ponies they've befriended throughout the show instead and they spend time with each other there.
