Spike basically did nothing for the entirety of S5 and even in his one "starring" episode it was shit and he was more of a prop than anything.
He's honestly a living prop at this point and I just fucking knew from the second we saw that SDCC 2014 clip that Season 5 was going to dump him right in the trash. Such a fucking shame because they did a lot of good for him and I figured S5 was going to be a big season for him. I mean I guess given the "Cutie Mark Magic" theme I couldn't expect it but still.
That being said there's some exploration in S6. Maybe we'll go to Trottingham and see Trixie, maybe we'll go to Dragon's Lair/Dazzle Island or wherever dragons come from. The latter comes from one of those weird books.
I don't know, maybe I expected something a lot like getting a cutie mark for him. S5 was a letdown for Spikefags.
Speaking of books, sorry to say that Trixie's chapter book was delayed an entire year to make way for Lyra/Bon Bon and Starlight Glimmer.
